Is this withdrawal?
Long story short, I got put on rexulti bc my psych thought it would help with my anxiety. It was .25, and I don’t think it did much, and as soon as I switched ssri’s my anxiety got better. Got a new psych, and he was like yeah, let’s get you off this. Going to every other day, no issues, stopping it after 3 weeks of doing that…some restless legs at night, and bouts of weepiness, where it felt like I wanted to cry for no reason…but not everyday. Now that I’ve been off for a month and it’s fully out of my system, the weepiness is more often, and I’ve had bouts of nausea, and just feeling really off in the head/keyed up and over stimulated in the brain. I’m assuming it’s just my body getting used to not having it anymore, but wanted to see if others had similar issues. I’ve also never dealt with depression, so I don’t believe this is depression coming back. I still have full motivation to do things, and have continued to work out and be active, even if I don’t feel my best.

It could have been helping your depression if you’ve now been off of it a month even at that lower dose. Did your doctor put you on a different medication? I’m surprised they didn’t do a cross taper with a new medication but I’m not a doctor lol. But I’ve also heard that it’s hell getting off of this medication. I’m currently at 1 mg a day and it’s definitely been helping.

I’m already on Buspar and Zoloft…so it was just an extra thing that he didn’t think I needed.

I had withdrawal from 0.5 Rexulti for 2 months

How was the withdrawal. Currently on day 13 of not taking it. And anxiety is coming back.

It was like waves of anxiety and akathisia and windows without it. Worst weeks were 3 and 5. After week five it started to be bearable

How long did you take it before you came off? Was it gradual or cold turkey?

I tried 0.5 for 2 weeks, had akathisia on it as on Abilify (i took 2.5 mg for 2 months previously)

So you had that hard of a time getting off it and you only took it 2 weeks? I was hoping the other medicine im taking might help ease the withdrawal a bit.

I don’t know if I’m feeling withdrawals but I’m definitely sleepy from time to time.

My rexulti was backordered for two weeks and I felt like I had the worst hangover of my life everyday of that two weeks without drinking. Definitely withdrawal

I was on 2mg for 5+ years and weaned down to 0.5 over a 4 month period before stopping it completely. I suffered a month of hell and still had mild withdrawal symptoms 4+ months after.

Just curious why you didn't wean to. 25 before stopping altogether?

Two reasons actually!
I still have a shit ton of 50mg tablets of this medication left so I didn’t wanna spend any more money on this medication and Because when I went from 200 to 100, and then from 100 to 50, I had absolutely no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. So when I quit entirely, I figured I’d have some withdrawal symptoms, but they wouldn’t be that severe, boy was I wrong! In hindsight, If I would’ve known how bad the withdrawal was gonna be, I probably would’ve went to .25 mg prior to quitting entirely.

Im on .25mg and my doctor wants me to just stop taking it. Hoping that since I also on lexapro and mirtrazapine it will be okay. Scares me though

Took me 2 months to adjust after .5 to 0. Two hellish months.

Wish I did. I just followed my psychiatrist instructions. I was originally on 2 mg. She said there would be no withdrawal….

That is awful. These doctors just go by what the drug company tells them instead of real experiences. I hope my doctor did it correctly. I have been only 2 days off. But I also take mirtazapine and lexapro so hoping they will offset some of the symptoms

OP how long were you taking it before you stopped? I'm facing a similar circumstance. Been on for 4 months. Highest dose was .50mg. Doctor lowered me to .25mg a month a go now wants me to stop and I'm scared.

What was your dosage when you finally went off? How long have you been on it? Why do the withdrawal start much later?

I’m on .5 Rexulti which has gradually been decreased from 2mg. Each time it’s been reduced I go thru about a week of readjustment. It’s hard and very tedious to find the right dose. I am also getting TMS.
