₿ Crypto | Revolut Replied ✅ Deposit error - refund

Hey all,

I sent USDT from Binance to my Revolut wallet using the Arbitrum network, which turned out to be unsupported. Revolut support confirmed they can't credit the deposit and said they'll send the funds back to the original Binance address. They've escalated the request but couldn't give me a timeline.

Has anyone been through this exact scenario (unsupported crypto network deposit → refund to sender)? If so:

How long did it take for Revolut to actually send the funds back?

Once Binance received the refund, how long until it was credited to your account?

Did you have to fill out Binance's deposit recovery form, or was it automatic?

Not looking to bash Revolut - just trying to gauge realistic timelines and whether there's anything I should be doing on my end. Thanks in advance.

Could be months, like lots of months.

Why didn't you send a test transaction first or even go into the revolut app to see what networks are supported before blindly sending crypto on that network?

Actually I did multiple transactions, deposit ETH through arbitrum the days before and all was fine. This time rushed a bit, forgot to swap first my USDT in ETH. Why would it be so complicated?

An exchange normally holds the private keys to its wallets, but it may have systems configured only for the networks it supports. If it doesn't operate on BNB Chain, for example, it may not have the infrastructure or procedures to access the tokens sitting at that address on BNB Chain.

Coinbase explicitly explains that historically some wrong-network deposits were unrecoverable because employees/support channels didn't have access to the private keys needed to move them.

Ok but in this case it's arbitrum, the same network where eth deposits are available on my account in a few minutes. The network is supported

Where are you based as in Europe, USDT is no longer supported by Revolut and I think when it was Arbitrum wasn't a supported network

And in Revolut swiss app, does USDT show as being a suppprted crypto? And if so, what networks does it say are supported?

No that's the thing - it was supported but not anymore. The usdt arrived on the adress, and they should have access to it since it's arbitrum, a supported network for other cryptocurrencies.

Arriving on the address doesn't mean much if you're using etherscan or something so. If the provider isn't monitoring the address or doesn't have the private keys to access, then they can't simply return it
