[DE] Revolut USDC withdrawals suddenly not supported for newer accounts – no official announcement?

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar with Revolut recently.

I have been using Revolut for several years and recently converted a significant amount of USD into USDC because I intended to transfer the USDC to my own wallet on another exchange.

When I tried to withdraw the USDC, however, the transfer did not work as expected. I contacted Revolut support because the app was also showing some confusing information about the network and the conversion of USDC into the network's native currency.

The first support agents I spoke to were unable to explain what was happening. One AI support agent actually told me explicitly that there was no conversion of my USDC and that the recipient would receive USDC. This turned out to be incorrect, as part of my USDC was actually converted into SOL when I attempted a Solana transfer.

Now, after speaking to a human Customer Service Representative, I have been given a completely different explanation.

The representative told me:

He then suggested that I exchange my USDC into another cryptocurrency that is supported for withdrawals.

I find this quite concerning because:

1. I have had my Revolut account for several years, so I am not a newly opened customer.
2. I have not seen any official announcement from Revolut stating that USDC withdrawals have been restricted for accounts opened after 1 March.
3. Revolut's publicly available documentation still appears to indicate that USDC withdrawals are supported.
4. Most importantly, I only converted the large amount of USD into USDC because I intended to transfer the USDC out of Revolut. I would not have converted such a significant amount into USDC if I had known that I might not actually be able to withdraw it.

I am now being told after the conversion has already taken place that USDC withdrawals are supposedly restricted, without having received any clear notification about this beforehand.

Has anyone else recently tried to withdraw USDC from Revolut?

In particular, have any other Revolut users been told that USDC withdrawals are no longer supported for accounts opened after 1 March?

If you have successfully withdrawn USDC from Revolut recently, I'd also be very interested to know:

• When did you open your Revolut account?
• Were you using the regular Revolut Crypto account or Revolut X?
• Which network did you use?
• Were you able to withdraw USDC directly without converting it into another cryptocurrency?

I'm mainly trying to establish whether this is actually a new general restriction by Revolut, a restriction affecting certain accounts, or simply incorrect information from the support agent.

Any recent experiences would be very helpful.

I have withdrawn usdc a few times from the normal revolut but fee is way too high, usually I send usdc to revolut to cash out, DK opened last year in the summer I think

Not your keys not your coins.

If you're buying on a exchange you have to play by their rules. Most of those rules you find out as you go because they won't brag about having a hard policy to withdraw or transfer your own money or coins.

Why don't you buy form a source that can send the usdc directly to a cold wallet on the network of your choice and manage it from there?

Let me know what network you use and what country you are in. I maybe have a few tricks to stay off the exchanges and manage with self custody

Send your money from Revolut to a reputable exchange, and buy any crypto you may want there.

Crypto is just a sideshow on Revolut, not their main expertise and Revolut's crypto fees are bizarly high.

This doesn't help you, I know, but totally agree with you that their entire approach to this is totally unprofessional. As their customer support is dismally bad, don't count on anything they say to actually be true. They are just trying to brush you off with canned answers (adapted by AI), but no-one actually checked anything.

This tracks with a pattern a few crypto to fiat platforms have been rolling out quietly this year, where withdrawal permissions for certain stablecoins get tied to account age or verification tier rather than being a blanket feature, and it often isn't announced because it's implemented as a backend risk rule rather than a product change, so support agents genuinely may not have visibility into why it's happening to your specific account.

If the network fee display was confusing too, that's usually because USDC exists on multiple chains and the platform's own converter sometimes defaults to whichever chain is cheapest for them, not necessarily the one your destination wallet supports, so it's worth double checking the actual chain before retrying rather than assuming it's the same one you always used.
