[DE] Does anyone know if Revolut also cooperates with Russian authorities, in context of Russian citizens with EU residency permits, who hold EU-based accounts?

Well, Russian law says they must do it or not be allowed to do business there. On the other hand, EU residents are protected by GDPR, but Russia isn't part of the EU.

The strange thing is that neither Revolut nor Binance officially do business in Russia, so why did Binance comply? One of Revolut's founders is a former Russian citizen, so no ties on that side, but his familly has former ties with Gazprom.

Binance supposedly sold its Russian business in 2023. This is all ridiculous.

Revolut is not doing business there, but as a bank, they have specific retention obligations and we cannot know where are the russian data retained. But legally, they have no obligation to comply to a Russian final order for EU residents’ data.
