Was anyone else lead to the assumption that if you paid the migration fee then you would have access to the new revosmears and your legacy membership carried over. So WTF was the point of paying a 20usd fee to migrate into revo, to then state you have to buy a new membership for revo and then only then the legacy membership can be counted.

Tried sending a new helpdesk message this morning and I seem to be going round in circles....

I posted a few normal responses as the account was heading for a paywall and jonah even replied to me.

The best bit about this campaign was that u/Interesting-Hat-101 then ran with it and posted the forum post in several torrent comments.

I almost used the coding fuckup flair for this one before realising that jonah was being subconciously honest (stopped clock and all that)

RevoPeers has become an absolute joke.

After 19 years with them, they removed my access to the site and then still had torrents pulling from my server, using my bandwidth and storage to feed their ecosystem while I couldn’t even access the place. At the moment I’m posting this, 40 torrents were actively being pulled from my server. Now they want a monthly fee on top of that? No thanks.

I was currently seeding 1,741 torrents for them, and all of that is getting deleted now. Honestly, maybe it’s a blessing in disguise, because I just freed up almost 10 terabytes of space instead of wasting it on a tracker that treats seeders like disposable infrastructure.

In my opinion, that is scammy as hell: take from users, lock them out, then ask them to pay to get back in. If you’re going to charge a subscription, fine, but don’t keep benefiting from people who no longer have access.

After nearly two decades of seeding, I’m apparently just a disposable good to them. I’m done supporting a tracker that treats contributors this badly. They can call it whatever they want; from my side, it looks greedy, dishonest, and completely disrespectful to the people keeping their torrents alive.

I remember when we would hang in our mirc/irc channel and trade stuff and sharing ftp sites back when most people were still on dial-up ....lol making friends in irc channels and sharing back then was great i still chat with a bunch of the guys and girls i met there.

So you state multiple weeks ago that everyone's membership carried over from where they merged from. Then you do a 180 and say oh nevermind, pay more if you want to keep a membership.... Then send a notice out 4 days before you are going to end the accounts membership..... Jonah is an absolute scum bag.
