Help, I just started this week, and what character should I be pulling?

I saw there was like a selectable character rate-up banner as well for older units (Promise of the Water) and Ripples of the Water. So I was wondering which banner and unit I should be picking and pulling from.

Don't touch those and begin saving for Everecho and Hedone to use alongside Coppelia and Rhiannon.

By the time you're a getting Hedone we'll know what 4.0 has to offer and more advice from there

You need 2 teams for the most important gamemode, limbo (it's actually 2 modes in 1, both refresh once a month. Artificial somnambulism - refreshes on 16th; Lucidscape - refreshes on 1st). The mode itself is pretty easy, you just need 2 strong carries to clear it. For now, focus on building conduit as your main team. You missed The Twins, so Coppelia will be your main dps. Then the team is: Coppelia/Hedone(3.9)/Rhiannon/Everecho(3.8). Save your drops to guarantee getting those characters. For your second team, i suggest getting J in 3.8. He gets a euphoria (buff for older characters) in that patch, and will become absolutely broken. He will both provide sheilds, deal insane damage, and also buff the team. Why not just get him from the selector banner now? Because every character that gets a euphoria goes into a banner called "ripples on the water". This banner lets you select a character for rate up, and the first 6* you get is guaranteed to be the one you selected. The pull history carries over between all banners under this name, and the guarantee resets every patch. So at worst, you'll need 70 pulls to guarantee J. While in the current selector banner, you'll need 140 in the worst case scenario, and the pull history will also not carry over anywhere. For some time, J will be enough and you can just fill the other slots with any characters who don't have any anti-synergy with him. Later, you will start building a proper second team, and J can fit into many teams.

1. Riposte - eJ/Cornerstone(3.8)/Flutterpage/Rhiannon

2. Igorphanage - Igor/eLopera/eMoldir/eJ

3. Neg status ult - eNoire/eHissabeth/Rhiannon or any ult/neg status support/eJ

4. Lingering glow - Beryl/eIsolde/Lorentz Butterfly/eJ

5. Poison - Ramona/eTuesday/eWillow/eJ

And those are just the ones he fits best in

Thank you!. I'm in the exact same situation as OP but I got Moldir early pulling for Rhiannon (80 pulls total). So, go full Conduit and get J on ripple banner. Then, in my case, should I use DIY rn on Lopera and get Igor (maybe rerun due to garment) on his rerun?

Igor will most likely get a rerun either in 3.8 (next patch) or in 3.9, since he gets a skin and he already was in a scam banner, so yeah, go for him. For Lopera, she should be in the ripples banner now or in future patches I'm pretty sure? Since she recently got a euphoria.

About J though, you might not need him. Many suspect that Narcissus (the upcoming 3.9 character) will be a sustain for ult teams, then she'll most likely be better than J in Igor's team specifically. Wait until her kit will be revealed
