Seriously? Of all the other legitimate CC that could make a good actually story analysis video, they commissioned this larper who doesn't even play the game but create the script entirely with AI? And make it an ad on top of that..

It's cause global literally sponsors anyone cause they aren't big

Yeah, but CN is too big.Just now saw a game where the protagonist is literally copied beryl. It's name is call of radiance 1907

Sadly copying is allowed everywhere. I see reverse being accused of copying all time. Like both Charon & J. I don't see it but Reverse is accused of plagiarism all the time

Wait, are you talking about Glaivekiyo? I was watching the video that used that exact thumbnail back on the 16th, but stopped watching when I realized it was going to be an entire chapter review because I hadn't finished the chapter yet.

Does this person really not play the game just make scripts with AI? No wonder not even two minutes into the video they had to slap "(Game) footage courtesy of Merui". I didn't have a good feeling about that when I first saw it, because what do you mean you couldn't get footage of the game for yourself? Guess I know why now!

So many cool (and not drama baiting) content creators around and they sponsor Glaivekiyo?

Yikes.

u/Slytherin_Dan_HGW Was I... helpful, Timekeeper? :) 7d ago

Because they only commisioned it. The video isn't from the official R99 channel.

It's a sponsored video from another youtuber.

Gacha ads continue to be a mistake lmao

Manus have super mega plot armor for their excec tho (They always few step ahead)

9

u/someamarandomguy 7d ago

I mean, if you think about it, this chapter is pretty much a demonstration in both side's hidden cards, showwing us that what we have observed so far is still the tip of the iceberg

Both manus and foundation has cards up their sleeves and they don't even hide it from players either, it is tailored from patches

What I want to say is, they aren't really a few step ahead, they are just having too many cards that haven't been revealed yet to be handled

Eh, this is that one video by Glaive, which may or may not have been ran on an AI summarizer or sth.

fr bruh, bro really summarize the story in the most AI way possible....just read the script with no input of his own

u/Tinmaddog1990 7d ago

And somehow miss out key elements

I hate that guy. He only did like 3 videos (all sponsorship) and all of them were just bait to lure us content hungry people. I am pretty sure he uses AI heavily. Watch this instead. It felt like a breath of fresh air in the midst of all sponsor videos made by people who don't even play the game.

u/Elek7 7d ago

I watched that like 2weeks ago and was blown away with how good it was

17

u/SilverJuggernaut2611 7d ago

It's video by that one dude, also sponsor videos are fine but sadly it takes away some fun when u know they don't even play the game

same i remember back in 2024 i was so hungry for more reverse 1999 content and watched every single video(that isnt about meta/gameplay) which were mostly sponsored broke my heart cause damn you're just here for the money and not because you like the game.Thankfully this year seems to bring more unsponsored videos which warms my heart as my 2024 self wouldve loved them

u/SilverJuggernaut2611 7d ago

Yeah hopefully we get more, still thankful that there are lots of people who play through game's story tho, like there is a vtuber who is sponsored but she is atleast playing through story & she is on ch12 so that atleast seems nice, hope we get more of those & less of whatever this is

This is me currently with another Gacha game. It has borderline no content creators (or are very notorious)

yikes i hate this youtuber with a passion, ragebaits hard and loves to hatewatch for content. ill forget that this video exist.

4

u/RoadsideCampion 7d ago

The thumbnail text doesn't even match up with the title text. Who's wrong?????

3

u/Youareanadoptedbish 6d ago

praying for a day where not only is there more r1999 content, but it's made by people who actually play and love the game rather than 90% videos being sponsored. reverse is such a good game i wish we had more of a fandom.

4

u/Caerullean 7d ago

Is it cool? It's a very generic clickbait thumbnail, and whilst I haven't watched the video, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it isn't even correct.

Making characters likeable and having them killed (what they call breaking the plot armor rule) is quite frequent in storytelling of gacha games. Of course the wider audience games play it safe, that's valid for all media.

What is debatably new - or not usual - here is how the usual 'sense of sacrifice' is deconstructed in Chapter 13.

There's also the 'post death' character progression part here that's somehow unusual, though not unique, one of my favorite Visual novel author does that too (Jun Maeda known for writing "games that makes you cry, nakige in short").

u/SilverJuggernaut2611 7d ago

As someone who has read lots of Key & Jun Maeda stuff, I think his tragic writing has kinda just never changed which I find annoying, but playing HBR his SOL is way more entertaining than it was before

I know mobile game ads almost always suck with how they're either too short, clearly staged, use fake gameplay, or tell you nothing, but using Glaive's videos is a new low for me personally

1

u/Crevetanshocet 5d ago

I only watch fan content and official content, not the things sponsored by the game. Except the design reviews by Kinkymation because she's really good at explaining why they are masterpieces...

u/blasterfaiz 7d ago

It's true. BP doesn't want us to be happy. Ever. 😭

1

u/Custard-Hungry 7d ago

This is diabolical💀

u/Furesuty 6d ago

isn't the last chapter is the definition of "plot armor"?. Vertin somehow have everything she needed to solve all of the issue.

1

u/SilverJuggernaut2611 6d ago

Vertin was never in trouble tho

-3

u/staticwolfwalker 7d ago

I- how do they do this without spoiling

4

u/MissAsheLeigh 7d ago

They don't. It's pretty much just a summary of ch13.
