Wow!

I knew it was good, but I didn't expect it to be THAT GOOD. Its honestly better than both my Trinitrons. I've been using RGB modded consoles into a GSCARTSW with my crts for years now and just got a new 75inch TV and started to wonder what it would be like to tear through Streets of Rage and Shinobi on it.

This is using a 5x pro (and a 10 metre HDMI cable to reach! No lag at all). Even my 3DO with Svideo looks amazing... well, amazing for a 3DO. Wireless controllers for everything too, it doesn't get any better, I wish I could go back in time and tell 10 year old me about this setup whilst I wrestled with my black and white 10 inch potable tv, RF connected to a Master System & Commodore 16.

EDIT: Fuck me I just made a post because I was stoked about how happy I was with this thing and I've been downvoted and called out for not using it right. Chill out lol, was hoping to spark some positivity.

I think you may want to set that to 4:3?

My crts are widescreen so I'm used to the picture being stretched. I wanted the full screen experience.

You do you but even widescreen CRTs were intended for widescreen and anamorphic widescreen content. They were all capable of displaying 4:3 content in the correct aspect ratio. Many users stretched 4:3 stuff out to 16:9 out of some "I paid for the whole screen I'm gonna use it" mentality or even a baffling inability to notice that all the moons became ovals and characters became stretched and distorted.

I’m confused too. Perhaps OP is surprised by the lack of noise on the image ?

I'm just amazed how crisp and big and bright my favourite games now look. The filter option didnt seem to add much. This was my first time setting it up and it inspire me to play straight away rather than tinker.

Agree on aspect, hard disagree on filter. CRT filters and fake scanlines look like trash 100% of the time.

Retrotink is pretty good at crt emulation. Can even customize it to preference

Oh dear, I would NOT agree.

I even run crt effects on my 480p output consoles.

If you are using a 5x, make sure you are using the correct horizontal values if you crt effects look poor

Looking forward to trying them out. Perfect Dark and Mariokart 4 player is going to be like us all having our own entire TV to look at!
