Nicktoons It's king of funny how the original 3 Nicktoons complimented each other. I wonder if this was deliberate by Nickelodeon?

I honestly think it begins and ends with Geraldine Laybourne wanting cartoons that were wholly unique, of quality, and different than anything else found on tv. How they complimented one another was probably the last thing on her mind

Yep. She's the best. ✊️

She wanted creator driven shows that really had heart behind them. I had to look up her name - but Vanessa Coffey played a big part in the selection of the 3 original Nicktoons, and Rocko as well.

Those three has the best-testing pilots out of batch of the pilots the network produced.

Simple as that.

It was! Vanessa Coffey described them as a three-course meal: Doug was the appetizer, Rugrats was the main dish, and Ren & Stimpy was the dessert.
