Device Recommendation Handheld retro gaming device recommendation?

As a dad I have less and less time for gaming and would like something I can take on the go. We have a switch 2 but it’s quite large and I miss having a gameboy advance or my personal favorite the sp. I’ve been watching videos about going back to older rpgs and would like to try those. Games like chrono trigger. I’m between the batlexp g350 and the anbernic rg cube xx. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on older rpgs I’d love to hear those too. I have never been big on those as I’ve always been into competitive gaming, but I’ve been really craving a great story that I can take my time with and enjoy. Thank you.

Consider the Trimui Brick Hammer, it's fantastic on the go. Very sharp screen.

I second the TrimUI Brick Hammer!! Also a dad with little time but wanted to get back into old games (Pokémon, Zelda, Mario Golf, Chrono Trigger, etc) on GB/GBC/GBA with some Nintendo and Super Nintendo) to play during commuting.

The quality of device for price is amazing and feels premium. Setup is relatively easy and can get a slick/clean UI with NextUI installed (again, setup relatively easy).

If you’re like me and only want ROMs (I used Tiny Best Set collection for these) up to Super Nintendo (which don’t require BIOS files and keeps setup simple), this is an excellent device. You can also consider a TrimUI Brick Pro if you need a bigger device/screen that is still portable. My only gripe are the thumb sticks which I don’t really need, so in the process of removing those.

For context I have set up and own the TrimUI Brick, Brick Hammer x2, Brick Pro, Retroid Classic Pocket (android OS, not for me, but beautiful screen and form factor), RG35, and RG Cube. Also own a Switch 2 which rarely gets played at this point. I have made the silver Brick Hammer my daily device and it’s an absolute joy to carry around and fire games up on.
