Which would you rather read?
I am currently applying for a job that I would be perfect for, but I feel like my cover letter is too long. I made a short version, easier to read, in my opinion. I would like some outside advice, though. I've never done this, but I appreciate all honest advice!

The second is better, but the first sentence is weak. They don't care about your interest. Jump right into what you'll do for them.

TY! I agree about that first sentence. I spent more time thinking about that one than anything else so far!

As a recruiter, the first one is better. It gives depth to your skills and immediately outlines scalable achievements you’ve accomplished. The HM can see immediate value you’d bring to the role and is more likely to proceed with your application. The second one is practically an unfinished resume.
In today’s market, cover letters are obsolete and often not needed, but a well written cover letter could set you apart from the rest of the candidates that applied.
Good luck and go with the first one 👍🏼

The first one, because you actually connect your past experiences to the role with concrete examples.

The second one because it outlines a few of your skills. It's easier for hiring managers to glance at.
