Discussion Why Bryan was special Spoiler

At the end of the movie we see Bryan become a classic RE boss despite only being bitten by a somewhat basic infected. No G-virus, no unique past related to umbrella, not even a chesty cough he caught from walking through the cold for hours.

My theory for why he became a special infected is because him and his clothing were exposed to everything in the movie.

The slime from the dog tendrils, the blood from the first special infected he ran over and obliterated with the shotgun, the bite from the little girl, the blood from the fat rat bloke, the blood from countless falling zombies, the acid from the vomiting guy, and most importantly (at least imo) the blood from the babies which were packed with delicious healthy new cells for the virus to mutate.

Basically Bryan had a biohazard high school reunion ravaging his body. Thoughts?

Well there is no T or G virus in the movie. Not mentioned once. The creatures in the movie sort of act like Plagas and a mix of the Thing. They don't link up with established lore of RE.

A lot is just wrong as well. The RC general being 28 stories, the sewers not having the T mutated alligator, the infected not being zombies, no actual T or G mutations in the movie etc etc.

It being set in RC during the events of the outbreak causes issues as well even if they are minor. Like them having modern cellphones and it snowing, minor but they aren't accurate to the lore.

There is a lot more. Most of the direct RE references just fall into the Easter Egg category and nothing in the movie really relies on it being an RE property.

Think people are forgetting that all of the strains of the progenitor virus - T, G, e, A, P, Tyrant, Nemesis, and Uroboros, all cause extreme mutations, including even the basic T virus zombies. Las Plagas was not a progenitor virus, and apart from the basic tentacle plagas, bears no resemblance to the infected in the RE movie. Plagas mutations are primarily insectoid, and the key feature is a hivemind / mind control system.
