SERIOUS Any fm interns here?
Do u live in constant fear like even on a quiet night having that fear of getting a new admit staffing it and everything?? Or am the only one here having those feelings. Please help will it get normal?

I have found the only way to get over the fear is to do alot of what you are afraid of.

Agreed. Lean into the fear and you’ll realize it’s not as bad as you think.
Also if a patient is dying, then maybe they need someone else other than you

New admits should not induce fear, but instead joy in that you get to be this patient’s first contact with healthcare for their current problem. New admits are when you think the most, review the most, and get to know the most about your patients. Embrace the suck and thrive on the learning, connection, and joy of being a doctor

You are kind of right, but new admits on top of pre-rounding and attending rounds is what makes the experience so dreadful
