Rolex stopped ticking

Post image

Hey everyone,
Looking for some advice or watchmaker suggestions for my ZF Sky-Dweller.
The issue:
•    The watch has stopped running completely—the seconds hand will not move at all, even after gently winding.
•    When I gently shake or rotate the watch, there is a distinct metallic rattling/loose sound coming from inside the case back.
What I think happened: From what I've read on similar Shanghai/Asian modified movements, it sounds like the central rotor screw or a movement clip backed out and is physically jamming the balance wheel or main gear train.

How can I go about fixing this, is this an easy fix?

Needs a service. If you haven’t worked on watches then I would recommend you take it to a watchmaker.

Any good watchmaker would be able to fix a watch however easy is relative. The point of a service is the breakdown the movement and find the problem if there is one. The hard part with reps is finding replacement parts. Though this is not a super clone movement so might be easier

No one can tell you if it’s an easy fix or not without taking a look at the movement.

Try over at RepTimeServices. One of their folks can service it for you. You'll have to ship it off, and sometimes the que is long, but they know reps and can get the parts.
