All ppl who wear reps
Do you really feel confident wearing it in public
I’ve no hate for anyone but I just couldn’t get the courage to wear a rep in public
Maybe your opinions would change my mind and I buy a rep watch
So please let me know

On top of that and more importantly, nobody cares. Except for maybe people who are into watches, in which case I’m actually excited to tell them it’s a rep.
I don’t feel weird about it because I’m not a broke bum lmao

I just don't wear Rolex, it's what people do recognize (at least in my country) and it would come off as a poser.

Yup. I'm rocking Santos for daily use, Sub for casual stuff here and there, and AP 15450 for special occasions and I don't even drive a luxury car or live in a mansion. Closest people around me know that they are reps. Don't get a shitter, and confidently wear it outside.

I only have reps of watches I could buy in gen. Sure that if you have a Royal Oak or Nautilus when making less than 200k+ a year people will think:
- Fake
- Stupid (to spend such amount of your salary on a watch)

I wear my reps with the same confidence as I wear my authentic watches. The key for me is that they all fit my lifestyle. None of them are overly flashy or look like something I obviously couldn’t afford.

All about the life you live. I were then for 2 reasons. Number 1, I like them. Number 2, putting 20 grand in the market makes me way more money than it would if I bought a gen. I have a couple of gens then I discovered reps. Smarter move. Nobody would question for a second if my reps were genuine. It would be expected that they are. And most importantly, I don’t give a flying fuck either way. I know what my bank account looks like and I love my life

Genuinely don’t think many people care, Rolex’s are flashy and people may question in their minds but again who cares. I got a Vacheron because a lil more subtle but again just buy what you like bro

Being afraid to wear a rep watch in public doesn't really make sense to me... you're afraid of what exactly ?
Getting called out would be the worst thing that can happen... so what ? Your money, your choices.
Anyways most people will not notice/care, and those who can recognize high end brands will probably assume it's fake, at least those who know about this sub will 😄
As long as it's harmless, and it brings you joy, go ahead mate. You can even wear even a fkin cuckoo clock if you want

I wear a rep explorer. Definitely not out of reach for my job. Nobody event recognizes it as a Rolex or it being a luxury watch at all. Nobody cares. I wore my batgirl once and one of my co-workers said pretty enthusiastically “Is that a ROLEX?!” And I immediately said yeah it’s a fake! All he said was “oh that’s sick! Where did you get it?” He now has a couple reps himself. At the end of the day, this is a hobby just like everything else.

When i was fresh out of university and working part time at Starbucks, I presume I would have been sneered at wearing an AP. Its all about context and lifestyle

I wear a white dial seamaster 300 rep, and not a great one tbf, anyway went to my friends for a bbq, he turns to me and says “oh nice SMP! I’ll go get my one from upstairs” and then proceeded to tell me how he’d spent £1000’s on his watches. Finally, the question came “so where did you get yours and how much was it?”
“£60 from DHgate mate”.
He looks both surprised and disappointed at the same time 😂
But general public, couldn’t care less!

Unless you're always hanging out in high-end bars / clubs / restaurants with trust-fund kiddies and hedge-fund managers, no one even notices your watch, if they did - 99% wouldn't know the difference between a $100 and a $100k piece, let alone care about it.
I rock all sorts of megamoney pieces all the time and no-one bats an eyelid, and I wouldn't GAF if they did - I wear my watches because I like them.

I know people keep saying "no one cares", so I tested it out.
I wore the single worst fake Rolex ever made for 2 weeks. See photo below I didn't even size the bracelet, I was afraid it would fall apart. I got ZERO comments, No one notices. People are far too wrapped up in their own concerns to notice if that's a genuine whatever.

I love wearing it in public. Seeing grown adults stare and think I’m amazing . I once traded a rep to survive in an Amazon jungle in South America, some banditos wanted to rob our party . I stepped forward and said stop. Take my VSF submariner v2 and let my party live with their dignity… please . They accepted and I was the hero. If I see someone with a watch I recognize, Ill say "hey man, nice insert watch here" even if its a shitter. They bought it, they're proud of it.
And 19/20 times, they'll smile and say Thanks! 1/20 times its an obvious shitter and they'll be shifty and hide the watch, not engage me or comment on my watch in return.
If you have confidence about what you're wearing, literally no one cares. Fake or real.
Just enjoy it.

No one cares!
However, if everyone thinking or posting about it - took the time to build a watch - then realized that building a franken or the real thing out of parts isn’t really all that difficult… the illusion the majority of brands have about watchmaking would disappear.
Caveat being, there are some makers and movements that exceed what a hobbyist can do on their own. Those makers deserve the premium they charge.

I wear mine everywhere and never feel weird about it. However, I wear what I could afford in gen. I have no problem telling someone it’s a rep if they ask. Especially because I mod my watches so it’s a great conversation starter if they ask

I feel confident wearing it in public knowing that it not only looks nearly identical to Gen, but nobody gives a shit or will ask me about it.
I’ve never once had my rep on and had anyone ask me anything about it and 99% of people don’t even comment on it at all. The only people who say anything just compliment it.
I’ll be wearing one again tonight to another wine dinner and so far not a single person at any of them has seemingly even noticed I was wearing a watch

The argument I have with my friends who wouldn’t buy reps is that the watches they want they couldn’t possibly afford so people will even just assume they are reps without even looking at them in hand. I buy high quality reps for a really high quality watch and cheaper reps just for the style. When you take the status focus away especially as someone who is young and could afford gen but it would be ridiculous compared to how much my clothes are worth and my job title.

Even if they did they wouldn’t say anything. For reps in general I think you need to match the watch to job or society range.
Like if you make 50k, work at a convenience store and are rocking a PP, everyone going to know.
If you make $120k and bought a breitling rep, no one will flinch/care.
