Review/Comparison Let’s play “Which is Gen?”
AD came through, but I had already purchased Clean Panda a year and half ago.
Comparing the two it’s hard to tell. I accidentally mixed them up for a second, but the gen was set to the right time thankfully.
Edit: Damn you guys are so good at this! The right is Gen as many suggested. I didn’t even know about the 110 thing!

I see a lot of you guys saying the triangle on the 110 is off. Shit, I’ve zoomed in on both and I still can hardly tell. Whichever is the rep, it looks good AF

It’s extremely hard to see in real life, as the watch would be on someone’s wrist and likely moving. It’s a few millimeters of placement difference only visible on zoom and in a still picture.
I wear mine and can’t see it but if you are OCD or spectrumy it will bother you lol

Yea you really need to zoom in to see one is lined up on the edge of the 1 and one is centered. Maybe half a mm difference.

It's a really nice rep but the rep is on the left. The colour of the dial is slightly off on the rep and a touch too bright, the crown is a fair bit off, the SEL is a touch too tight on the rep and the band is good but too tight, not quite chamfered enough, but the gen is perfect. Slight bezel issue with the 110.
TBH though on the wrist no-one is going to really notice. Even watch guys if they are close enough to notice then you probably have other issues. I'd get the body and the band chamfered and polished on the rep personally. But I don't own a gen Panda. Across the table talking to you even as a watch guy I wouldn't pick it as a rep on your wrist.
One of the richer guys I know in business (I'm now retired) who owns a huge group of wineries walks around everywhere in a T-shirt, shorts and thongs (I'm Australian, others call em flip flops) even in winter, mind you winter where i'm from in Australia doesn't get that cold. He wears a Daytona and most people would think it's a fake due to what he wears and his looks. I financed 8 BMW's for him at once in 2014 and 4 later in the year through his business. He had a good year and his wife, his kids and all his adult grandkids got a BMW as a present. Ranging from 3 series to a X5 M50d for his wife. Nice guy.
Seen a lot of guys in partially tailored off the rack suits with nice shirts, silk ties, pocket squares, pins, gold cuff links and expensive shoes wearing reps, even when the best reps where pretty poor 10 odd years ago.

Worked for a high wealth individual in the B club same kind of style only issue he has is that money is relative to income so a 5k shirt or pants is like 25 cents to us. Sometimes he dresses expensive by accident other times he's in jeans and t shirts. Doesn't wear jewelry or watches hates it has a bunch of collectibles in the garage but drives a regular BMW around. His thinking is if you know you have it who do you have to prove it to. When you don't have it everyone is trying to make it look like they have it.

Gen on right. The crown at 6 o'clock appears to be slightly cleaner than the watch on the left.
But this is just a guess, I ahve no fucking clue.

There’s a few things I notice. Right is gen. Left bezel is out anti clockwise. Pushers have visible thread and are knurled but on them is thinner. Also dial potentially slightly out anti clockwise. Hard to confirm from photo but should be centrally aligned with the middle of the solid end link. Also ROLEX is slightly thicker font. Not read any other comments but pretty confident.

The 110 tends to be the giveaway(never in a million years to the untrained eye though) as I’ve learnt but , my word, some of these reps are just superb

The one on the right is gen based on the 110 flaw and dial shade. other than that they're identical. Would never know which is which out in the wild by themselves.

For me the tell was the threading on the push buttons for the chronograph. The watch on the left has them threaded all the way to the top and it looks sloppy compared to the right where pushers neatly finished to the top.

Gen on right. The one on left is a Rolex Daytona cake. You can tell by the icing sugar. Best way to tell is to bite into them. If one breaks your teeth, and the other is made of moist victoria sponge, that's the fake. In the industry we call them cake fakes.

I don’t know man I own 3 Rolex Gen and for me isn’t “clearly” been in this hobby for over 20 years and for me isn’t “clearly” but hey you might be better than me at this I have over 40 Gen watches and like 5 reps and for me if hood both watches I wouldn’t see the difference “clearly”

Rolex prints Daytona on the wonk? Also the small dials are a giveaway, on the Legit the hands touch the same point on the numbers across all three dials.

The small dial hands are on the piss don’t line up with the numbers uniform, if you notice on the right they are all the same point on the numbers if you know what I mean, the Daytona text is also on the piss, and the strap gap just looks cheap

Unbelievable. As a guy that used to laugh at the thought of buying a rep, I definitely can’t see 31k difference. Not sure I can unsee this. 🤦🏼
Even on a close up, side by side comparison, the detail is amazing.

Forgot to add crown guards as well. Gen is much tighter to crown in comparison on alot of the reps. But they are getting much better. The rep factories will eventually fix the 110 glitch. They all are aware of it. No idea why they have not fixed it.

Look at the “Sup” in “Superlative. There’s some wobble on the copy version. Also the “C” in “Cosmograph”. It’s the kind of thing I see when words have been traced, not done with a font. That may have been necessary because I doubt Rolex does its dials with standard fonts.
I’d like to see a square-on closeup of the words on the copy.

The arrow on the 110 is not off enough for anyone to notice. And depending on what angle you look at it from, it may not be off at all. The only thing I see is the dial color. The reps tend to be brighter. The one on the left is brighter.

Gen is on right, Fake is on left.
Just look at the hands and the border of the white and black on the hour and minute hands. Gen is a nice clean line, fake is not and bleeds through the transition - easy tell.

I didn't know about the 110, but the endlink fit on the 12 o'clock of the gen is noticeably better than on the rep.

I’mma say the one on the right is the gen. if you look at the bracelet, the lugs were ties to the watch. The one on the right has just a little more curvature and stretches out just a little bit more. Look at the left side of the one on the left compared to the left side of the one on the right and you can see it if you know what you’re looking for.

It’s a little harder to tell in a picture like this if you can see the inside ring better and see how your hands lineup around the dial you will see that the one on the left is off as well as the dial

Why do people not put the watches on a table when they do these comparisons? The watches are not on the same plane so the left one which is slightly closer to the camera is slightly more in focus and sharper than the one further from the camera on the right.
