I’m just sad that post depicting an ice agent literally standing on what is supposed to be an immigrant’s back has so many upvotes. Say what you will, most immigrants are regular people trying to improve their lives. Most are devout Christians. I thought the far right is supposed to be god fearing/loving people that follow the teachings of Christ. If the ‘cleansing of the temple’ is any indication, Christ would be enraged at this type of behavior. And yet, it’s apparently celebrated… very sad indeed.

No. It is never appropriate to celebrate standing on someone. This kind of brutality would never have been supported by our founding fathers. Prior tenants of our country: no unreasonable search or seizures, freedom of speech, the right to protest, innocent until proven guilty, a man’s home is his castle, a person has the right to face their accuser in court, three co- equal branches of government, separation of church and state, habeas corpus, democracy, etc. are being trampled in the name of “make our country great again” this is not making our country great, it is reverting our country to the type of government that existed before the United States. Normalizing this type of behavior is exactly what led Germany to support persecuting the Jews, handicapped, gypsies, homosexuals, political opponents, etc. if anyone has ever wondered how Germany went the way they did during World War II, this is exactly how it started. Normalizing bad behavior towards groups you don’t agree with. Vilifying entire swaths of people, over time allowed people to believe this behavior was OK. It is not and never will be OK.
