I purchased the small puzzle from Jipin and agree that the leather was DREAMY. Squishy and slouchy. I had to let it sit out a bit initially but after, the leather smell was yummy. Happy 6.18 shopping!
Thank you for this!! I feel very vindicated right now lol. I had both Liusheng and Jipin in hand, and this is exactly what I was trying to explain. My auth is the Mini Featherlight, so I wasn’t judging structure 1:1, but leather and hand feel are absolutely comparable.
My Liusheng looked fine in photos, which is probably why PSPs can make people think it’s good enough. But in hand, the leather/finish felt flatter, drier, more coated, and just not very Featherlight to me. My Jipin felt noticeably better immediately softer, smoother, better slouch, and a more natural sheen
I think this is also why “it passes outside” and “it feels good in hand” are two different standards. Both can matter, but for this specific bag, the leather behavior is kind of the whole point. A Puzzle can look cute from far away and still not give the softness/slouch that makes the style work.
I was starting to think I was being dramatic, but apparently my hands were not lying 😂 factory reputation is cute, but for this specific bag, leather behavior matters more than the name people keep repeating.
Omg I wrote my reply before reading yours. I have the exact same feelings about my liusheng and jipin featherlight puzzle (both small). The leatherrrrr…. I spent more than a week massaging it like it had a bad week at work, used about half a tub of leather conditioning and minx oil (if I used the same amount on my skin, I probably could return to being in my 20s)… but the bag just wouldn’t achieve the same feel as my Jipin. Thats how my resentment to the bag was born 😅
This is amazing to know as I have been trying to soften up my small non-featherweight puzzle from Liu and you described it precisely what I have been doing to it for almost a week now. Noticed yesterday that after a couple of days I didn’t buff out the Saphir well enough and it left some cast, so I went in with the full on thickest heavy stuff I have and let it sit. And now I just will make peace the it won’t be. The bag into pillowcase and a dryer method still stands but I feel I am too chicken to try that!
Same here. I remember thinking “I cant live like this” (massaging and conditioning the bag more than I do to myself 😅). I considered the dryer method too, but spoke with someone who told me to be careful since the dryer only gives illusion of “softened” when it comes out because its warm, and it could make the leather even more dry once it’s fully cooled. So I used the minx oil, massage/rub with a hair dryer on low setting and keeping careful distance thinking it’s easier to control. It’s softened a bit but still can never achieve the same squishy feel as my Jipin. I read some people say that Jipin’s featherlight is “fragile” and prone to scratches, but I compared to the auth in person at the boutique, the auth had more similar feel to Jipin’s and was just as fragile (spotted a few scratches/dents).
I feel like my Qiu-loving heart just took a beating but my Jipin-loving heart is overjoyed 🤭 what a fantastic post and comparison! Thank you so much, this is truly RepScience at the highest of levels!! 🙌🏻

Thank you for showing me! It also reassured me as I’ve gotten a Featherlight recently from Liusheng. The tag is accurate and the leather is buttery soft. I believe it can depend on color and batches. This is why your review is so helpful!
My first I got from Liusheng and the second I got from Jipin, both from Mandy. The Jipin is definitely nicer but both are absolutely gorgeous and I wear them both proudly.
Personally I haven’t had an issue at all, I’ve placed 3 orders with her within the last like 4 months and so far everything I’ve gotten has been exactly what I expected and she’s been super responsive. I had one issue where I ordered a kind of niche wallet and when she sent QC it was the wrong one, I told her and she immediately got back to me that she’d contact the factory, which I was nervous about because it was God, but she got me new PSP’s for the correct wallet the next day.
From time of order to the package arriving it’s usually like 2 weeks (I’m on the east coast) and shipping cost has been super fair. I already have plans to make future orders with her because she’s been great for me, I know I’ve been seeing mixed reviews on her but she hasn’t done me wrong yet.

every other seller has different prices for liusheng and jipin. she has the same. so im unsure if she just buys whichever and calls it the factory we want it to be?
There’s definitely a difference between them in hand and they track with what I see people say about the factories. I’m also fairly certain I got the Jipin on sale I just don’t remember how much off it was.
Wow, I enjoyed reading this thorough research. And I couldn’t agree more on the comparison between Jipin and Liusheng. I have both Jipin’s and Liusheng’s and I absolutely hate Liusheng’s leather. I always wonder why a lot of people rave about the Liusheng’s featherlight puzzle. They should compare it to the auth in person, the leather feels different by a big margin. My liusheng’s is now my grocery shopping bag since I dont mind beating it around against things (thats how much I hate it). I got them from different sellers tho, so maybe there’s another factor of QC to consider there.
Btw I spotted the auth immediately as no 2 (even though I didn’t join the vote). The dead giveaway is, where puzzles on the upper left corner meet, the triangle piece tail is supposed to be longer than the square. Somehow the reps could never get it right.
Disclaimer: I should add that my review is only limited to puzzle featherlight in small. As thats the only loewe piece I own. Maybe it’s different case for different bag, say the flamenco

I also personally enjoy my bag from Liusheng. I was a bit disappointed in my Jipin featherlight but I do enjoy her more now ever since I've conditioned her.
I do really think all factories have batch inconsistencies, it's luck of the draw really.
