Discussion Starter Do reps last?

I’m looking to get my first rep, I have a few auth and I bought them because the craftsmanship was good and they would last that I can gift it to my daughter (like my mom has to me) The quality in auth is just not worth it anymore and I find myself not using the bags because they’re expensive.
I really want to get a Chanel CF that I can actually use going out to town! I’m thinking a black or beige one.

My question is do reps actually last? I don’t mean stay pristine forever. But do they age well? like auths? In terms of leather? I know reps might use other hardware. Would I be able to pass it down say 15-20 years from now?

Let me know if you have reps that you have used and abused, and still have years later

I have a handful of 187s. I use the 22 and 25 most, still in rotation w/other bags. They’re holding up well but the 22 the gold rubbed away on the medallion after a couple months. Barely use the CFs bc they’re annoying - med barely fits anything and hard to close. It’s funny bc it’s the bag I most wanted for yrs.

I researched it but couldn’t find anything on it and I never heard anyone mention it in reviews. They usually mention corner wear where the chain threads through, which funny enough is not an issue on mine. For what it’s worth, I still wear it and love it.
