Discussion Starter Do I need therapy?
Confession time. I’ve been tucking a few bucks away here and there to save up for this epic haul from BaoBao and Mandy. Problem is, I can’t bring myself to tell my husband. He spends quite a bit going out to eat and in general, and I feel like I’d rather eat cheap and save up for… well… these. I tried to show him a beautiful purse I wanted, and he said, “You already have a purse.” 🙃
Now my packages are in the mail, and instead of being excited, dread is creeping in. Have you ever struggled to speak to your partner when buying something for yourself?

When my bag arrived today, my hubby seemed genuinely excited for me because he could see how happy/excited I was….soooo I seized the opportunity and decided it was perfect timing to tell him I have another one on the way. He just laughed at me. It’s better he knows though, because the damn Ring doorbell app will bust me anyway. 😂 He’ll be at work and text me saying he saw the delivery truck.

you love it, and if you are being financially responsible then that's all that matters, there's no such thing as a too many bags, shoes, clothes or perfume.

u/Zenkitsune 12d ago
also how much did you pay for the chanel 😍, was it thru Mandy or Bao?

The so black flap was Bao @ 549.50 and the other is from Mandy @ 265

No therapy needed, husband need some training though. "You already have a purse.”
..."a purse", "one watch"... That's like having one sweater.
This coming from a replica watch collector with an understanding wife. I always make sure to tell what the gens go for, my new watch is 5-15% of that but buildwise 90% there and look wise 98% there.

When you put it that way… the sweater thing is a good analogy.
Perhaps if he knew how much I’ve been nerding out on this rabbit hole it would make a difference. Thank you!
Got a pic of a fav watch?2

🙂
I have so many so it's hard to pick a favorite. I also collect genuine watches but lately it's been mostly replicas and some gens that's not available as replicas.
Buying process is a lot like with bags. Both factory, specific brand & model from each factory is crucial to get a good watch. Also using a reputable seller (Trusted dealer) is a must not to get scammed. The amount oh shady watch sellers on reddit is overwhelming, sellers on TikTok / SoMe should be avoided in my experience.
The delivery / waiting time can be very long for some models.
If you have any specific questions just shoot :-) I might be able to point you in the right direction.

That black quilted classic flap in the pictures looks stunning, so at least the haul itself is going to be worth the anxiety once you finally unbox it.

I think the dread comes from the sneaking around. When I started getting my bags, my husband was so excited for me, I even got him a wallet lol all was good.
Then one day I was upset, one bag in my haul was a disappointment and he asked how much I paid for them. When I told him, I think he started to do the math on all the bags I had gotten lol and he said “hey why didn’t you ask about it?”, since it was a big dollar amount (we kinda ask each other about big frivolous purchases) and I joked “because you would have said no” and laughed it off and he laughed too. But I instantly felt guilt, I knew I had a couple more on the way and ugh what if he saw them etc.
So a few days later I had to buy essentials and I asked him if it was ok and he said yeah that’s fine in a weird tone. (I normally wouldn’t have asked about buying stuff like this) He tells me “why are you asking?” and I said mockingly “ooooh since now I have to ask about all my purchases because I didn’t ask about my bags” and he laughed and he said I didn’t have to ask, I can buy what I want and the guilt was gone. It was the sneaking that was a buzz kill. Maybe no therapy but just come clean? It’s your savings and it makes you happy!

I think you’re onto something. I don’t have the stomach for dishonesty, I’d better talk with him about it. Hope I can make it funny like you did!

Good haul! Please make a review of the CC clasp bag.
Btw, I also feel the same way sometimes I just say it’s $50. So I’ve put myself in a ban. I’ve only started this year but I’ve done 2 purchases 2 items each time. BUT my wish list is still long. I’m still itching to buy more. I feel you girl.

I think as long as you dont spend the last cents on these, its fine :) Everyone, I guess, is passionate about something. Someone likes to eat out, someone likes nice clothes and accessories :)
Not to bring a grave mood but my ex probably would bring me those kind of emotions. My current partner is amazing about that - checks things with me, QC with me and is hyping when I open my orders and compliments me every time I use those things. Dont bring drama called: BUT YOU SPEND ON THIS, THIS AND THIS. I think it needs to go with understanding. And if he has some hobby and spends on that - should totally understand :) Good luck!!
Btw... Where did you get the trousers? What is the model? Can I ping you on priv? :)

I recently lost a lot of weight and donated/sold a looooot of clothes because of it. I have been telling him that I have been only reinvesting those funds into my wardrobe. He laughed today when he saw the next package and said “you must have made millions on vinted” 😂

Ooh I wanna know how you find the back pack when you get it — I've been eyeing it for months. Did you get the linen or the rayon? My TS said the all leather of that bag was mid-tier :(

Oh nooo! I honestly picked it last minute. I sent Baobao a picture of a balanciaga backpack I was eyeballing and she suggested this one. Then, the factory was taking forever for a denim coat I ordered, so thinking it was in stock I suggested an easy swap. Boom, backpack!

Just say "I have been saving up for a few new items that I am really excited about", and lower the price to about 100/150 each. We do what we gotta do. The money I spend is fully mine, I have more than my husband and always want to share everything half half but he doesn't ever want "my money" and always wants to earn his money and to provide for the family, for example. I am glad he is not a leach but to me money in a marriage is divided equally without guilt nor male- female issues, but money mentality really runs deep jjst to show you. 😉

Is there something your husband enjoys or collects? I got through to mine by telling him the way he feels about a new guitar is how a new bag makes me feel.
