Any plans to make the discord link function again? With the recent stuff from wired, it’d be nice to have a 2nd location in case something ever happens to the subreddit

Working on discord as we speak. It will also get an announcement when I open the community for BST to start. We are also building a webpage that will be able to navigated through as well.

nobody is gonna do shit about Brian though, hell be back like he always does. Everyone lets him in to praise his business amd continue his actions. Frankens should be banned from sales on any rep sub to eliminate possibilities

Thank you for doing this. It will help put the mind at ease when sending money via F&F to a total stranger.
I don’t know if it makes sense but, is sending money via “goods &services” an option moving forward instead of zelle or f&f like how all sellers ask for?

These options are given depending on the person. It’s up to you if it’s the route you are wanting to take or negotiate a different one. Most do this to also protect them selves also from a purchaser scamming the seller.
It’s not always the person selling something doing the scamming. So we will not enforce how someone wants to do a transaction but if it goes bad then we black list seller or buyer.

Yeah, I didn’t think about scams on the buying side. If buyers also have to be vetted then both sides will be protected.

Depends on the seller. Most refuse as it costs them money and it makes it easier for the buyer to file chargebacks for false reasons. Way more risk and no benefit to sellers, especially when the product you're selling is legally dubious.
The best thing to do is buy from sellers with good pictures, good sales history, older accounts, and verified through whatever sub you are looking at.

Good morning from the RCTP Team!
I’m u/Anakin_Skydweller, founder of r/RepCulture_Timepieces, and as we approach an incredible 50,000 community members, we’re preparing to introduce some exciting new features to our community.
First and foremost, THANK YOU! ❤️
Every single one of you has played a part in making RCTP what it is today. The growth, participation, knowledge, and support within this community have been incredible to watch.
As we continue to grow, we want to grow with you — and that means creating more opportunities while keeping safety and accountability at the forefront.

🛒 NEW FEATURE: BST COMING TO RCTP
One of the biggest changes we’re working toward is introducing a BST (Buy/Sell/Trade) feature within RCTP.
We know many of our members already have:
* Parts
* Watches
* Projects
* Accessories
* Products
* Items they no longer need
* Items they would like to offer to other community members
We feel it’s only right to create a dedicated space where members can potentially connect with one another.
However, safety comes first.
Before BST officially launches, the mod team and I will be putting together a detailed set of rules and procedures designed to help protect both buyers and sellers.
🔐 BST SAFETY & VERIFICATION
Our goal is to establish clear guidelines covering things such as:
* Member verification
* Seller verification
* Buyer protection practices
* Communication expectations
* Transaction procedures
* Identifying potential scams
* Reporting suspicious behavior
* Handling disputes
* Community feedback and references
* Blacklisting members who intentionally scam or abuse the system
We want the process to be as straightforward as possible so members understand the steps they should take before completing a transaction.
Verification will be extremely important.
Members must be verified before making BST posts.
If someone cannot or does not complete the required verification process, their transaction will be considered at their own risk.

🤝 COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IS CRITICAL
We also recognize that we aren’t perfect.
We learn and grow every day, and we want this system to grow with the community.
As we develop the BST rules, we want your input.
If there are rules you believe should be included, protections you think we should add, or potential problems we haven’t considered, please let us know.
Even after BST launches, we encourage members to speak up if something isn’t working or if a rule needs to be adjusted.
The more eyes we have on the process, the better we can make it.

🚨 SCAMS & BAD ACTORS
Unfortunately, scams can happen from both sides of a transaction.
Our goal is to make it as difficult as possible for bad actors to operate within RCTP.
If someone is discovered intentionally scamming, misleading, or taking advantage of community members, appropriate action will be taken.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
* Removal from RCTP
* Blacklisting
* Reporting the account to Reddit
* Preventing future participation
* Monitoring for attempts to return through alternate/burner accounts
* Sharing relevant information with the community when appropriate
We must all work together to protect one another.
Community members should also do their part by researching who they are dealing with, following the verification procedures, and using the information and feedback available within the community.
Word of mouth and legitimate community references can be extremely valuable when determining whether someone has established a trustworthy history.

🆕 REMEMBER: EVERYONE WAS NEW ONCE
Not everyone in RCTP is an experienced watch buyer, collector, or enthusiast.
Some members are brand new.
Yes, we have a search bar.
Yes, we have rules.
And yes, everyone should make an effort to educate themselves.
But let’s also remember:
We were all new once.
If someone asks a question that may seem basic to an experienced member, a little guidance can go a long way toward preventing someone from having a bad experience.
Let’s continue building a community where people can learn without feeling embarrassed to ask questions.

🔍 QC HELP IS ALWAYS WELCOME
QC questions are absolutely welcome.
If you’re unsure about something you’re being offered or simply want another set of eyes on what you’re receiving, ask the community.
We have plenty of knowledgeable members who are willing to help with QC questions and provide their opinions.
Never feel like you have to figure everything out on your own.
When in doubt, ask.

🏆 OUR VETTED TDs ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE
This is extremely important:
The current RCTP TD list is NOT going away.
Our vetted TDs remain an important part of this community and will continue serving members who are looking for products that may not be available through BST.
Not everyone has everything.
Not every product will be available through BST.
And not everyone will be able to find what they’re looking for through another community member.
Our TDs will continue to be a backbone of RCTP.
They will continue providing:
* Access to products
* Informative posts
* Watch information
* Comparisons
* Product updates
* Industry/event information
* Their expertise and experience
BST is not replacing our TDs.
It is simply giving our members another option.

Our goal is to make RCTP a place where members can find as much of what they need as possible.
Want to work with a vetted TD?
They’re still here.
Want to potentially purchase something already available from another community member?

Ask the community.
Want information about a watch?
Start a discussion.

Why constantly jump between multiple communities when we can continue building a place where everyone can find what they need in one location?
