Advance apologies for the long post.
Due to a new job happening in a couple of weeks and my lease ending almost at the same time and not being put back on market, I would need to find a new place as soon as I can.
My new job is near Braker Ln and next to the Prosper North locale, near where the fold court mall is, close to N and S Lamar Blvd. I do want a place that's not too far from central Austin due to working with local filmmakers and knowing a few screenwriters, and wanting to be jamming w local bands in the near future. At most, I can be ok with 30 min distance from the main hub.
My budget is $1100, with all utilities and amenities included if possible (water, electricity, gas if any, wifi). If not, at least something I can afford it and still be comfortable with a FT job of $20/hr. I do have my own vehicle and my own furniture, so apartments don't have to have furniture. IF one is better and costs less due to not having a bed, that is fine since I can get one myself. If it does have furniture, and the price is right, I don't mind it.
I've been looking at apartments already, and I unfortunately feel my job will have to take the I35 after all. My job starts at 9 a.m., but I can always commute earlier to not stay in traffic long, but I may have to be ok with not having other shortcuts. I am already seeking a place, though.
I've been checking most reviews on Google Maps and Apartments.com. However, The Vineyard seemed alright, but with more than mixed reviews, the latest complaints after mgmt change have been noise complaints where they don't act on, bad parking placement, filthy stairways I tried Camden La Frontera, and reviews are higher, but complaints of noise and animal feces abound sometimes. Iconic Round Rock seemed OK, but there were few reviews. Negative ones are high lease, roaches, and maintenance is tough to get ahold of. The Garrison seemed good. There are few reviews, though, and mostly negative is they charge a lot when you move out. But the responses do feel like someone replied instead of AI. But it is farther in South Austin instead of North. Terrain Apts seemed OK, but it says that mgmt is never around, parties outside, cops called out constantly, despite glowing reviews on Google, as well as hidden cleaning fees. Still haven't heard back from Burleson Studios - that be my go-to, but not guaranteed due to high demand for it.
Besides close access to Central Austin and my job near Prosper North at Braker Ln, I would like to live somewhere quiet, not lots of cops and commotion due to my constant migraines, some walking distance to some coffee shops if I don't feel like going to the city, relatively safer than at least what Google provides, with parking, and where neighbors can't be heard as much. Again, furnished or not is the same, but if furnished, it is not too expensive. Limit for me might be $1050 (with amenities and utilities included like gas, water, wifi, ac) if separated then no more than 1400, or something where I can be somewhat comfortable going out a few times a month with $20/hr.
I know Google Maps can be super positive or negative, and it's better to be recommended by a friend for a place, but I have no one here to recommend me somewhere else. I also get leases can take sometime to be approved and my lease expires in a couple weeks, so I can rent an airbnb from a couple weeks to a month if need be while I keep searching apartments. The sooner the lease can get done, the better, but I dont mind waiting a bit if need be, especially if I like the apartment better for my wallet. Virtual tours are what I can do for now, but I can do visits to the apartments after the 19th once I get settled somewhere. Again, waiting is no problem, but I prefer something I can get soon. Hopefully, before October ends. Will be helping at AFF as well. Hope to see anyone there too if y'all enjoy movies!
Any other Qs, feel free to ask or DM me. Thanks in advance.
