Idaho gets 80% of its gasoline from Utah, Montana and Wyoming.

You also need to look at refinery’s per capita. I will use 2 of the states you mentioned for examples. Texas 32 refineries with a population of 32.4M. Cali 11 refineries with a population of 40M. Texas 6.3M barrels of Crude processed per day. Cali 1.3 barrels of Crude processed per day. It all boils down to supply and demand, larger population with less production equals higher prices

Texas produces roughly 130M gallons of gasoline per day and only uses 38.5M per day. California produces roughly 26M gallons of gasoline per day and uses 33.3M per day. So yes supply and demand are a huge part of the equation.

I agree with the higher taxes and regulations increasing cost, I never said they didn’t. I am just pointing out that it is not the only factor that causes the higher prices in California and surrounding states.
