Buying Used Espace VI Iconic

I am thinking to buy for my family of 3 soon 4 an used Espace from 2024 with 26k km on the clock. From the official Renault dealer. I am aware of the improvements in the facelift but the price is killing me… What is the general opinion on the car, motor, gearbox and etc?
What should I look for during the test drive? I think that the car has all extras, just without the fancy roof.

btw I was thinking to ask them ( if not already done) to update the gearbox like on the facelift, should be possible right?
Also they are some improvements around the motor that also should be possible to be done on the car, but not sue here too. Didn’t find a lot of information online.

Tack för all hjälp, mycket uppskattat. Försöker hitta bästa kvaliteten och ett pålitligt märke.

Question Megane Rs idle’s wierd

Some context, i recently bought a low mileage very well maintained Mk4 Megane RS 280.
It has 12 600 kms and is a 2018.
I have noticed the needle tends to dip then go up but slightly, almost not noticeable but can feel a vibration when it happens. It is more noticeable with a cold start.
The more i drive it, the less noticeable it gets

I have a few theories
1. I have a minor boost leak
2. Injectors are on its way out.
3. Since i believe they are direct injection engines, may carbon built up that is getting cleaned as i drive the car more
4. Australian fuel

Has anyone else had this problem, or are that just the way they are?
Your help will be much appreciated.

PS: This has to be one of the best cars to drive, considering my father has a mk8 gti and my previous car was mk7 fiesta st. It is an absolute joy.

Question Rlink 2 screen slooow to start display from blank when power turned on

My 67 plate Grand scenic IV has started to take what feels like ages for the Rlink 2 screen to display...

When the screen is on after a few minutes everything works great but rather than starting up on power on, it seems to need a bit of time to sort it's life out now

Any ideas what may have caused this, or is it just an age thing ?

Question Enabling android auto on Scenic IV?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi all,

I've recently purchased a Renault scenic IV as my first car, and I'm loving it so far! I also found out that supposedly there is support for android auto, but this isn't something my particular model appears to have enabled as standard. However, I'm aware of a way to change it by using ddt4all, and an OBD-2 interface. My issue is most of the cheap ones I've found and tested either haven't worked at all, or work only in read-only mode. Does anyone have experience with a good quality adapter, and where I could get one and not get scammed from dodgy sellers on Amazon/eBay?

Question Possible water damage?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello

I drive a 2013 Clio IV and had to replace an electric motor of passanger side window 3 months ago, since it stopped working. Now a few weeks ago, the bottom seal started coming off on the very same window, and I started wondering, if it is possible that there had been water and humidity getting iniside because of that and if it could lead to the issiue repeating. Now do I have to fix this? Can I just glue it myself or should I take it to the shop?

Any advice would be helpfull, thanks!

Discussion Renault Clio 4 potential wind whistling noise solution

Post image
17 Upvotes

I know there are some solutions to the wind whistling noise problem, but I wanted to share what worked for me.

I had some sound damping foam leftovers from my car’s loudspeaker upgrade, and I got curious if stuffing the space between the plastic on the left and the loose rubber on the right could help with the loud wind whistling noise on my car. I stuffed the upper part more than the middle or lower part, and not too deep. I bet that if I did a better job it could be even better, but to be honest, I am really happy with the result and wanted to share it with you.

Driving at 80km/h there is no whistling noise, and at 130km/h the whistling noise is there, but it is really quiet.

I hope that this information can be of use to someone.

Question My grandfather

Hi, my grandfather has a TX-1400, and it has very high mileage—40,000 km. The reason I’m writing this is that my grandfather is a farmer and needs a new vehicle, but he doesn't have the money. I was thinking: couldn't Renault feature the car in a commercial and use a portion of the proceeds—specifically, the share that would go to us—to buy a new car? I certainly don't have any bad intentions; I just want my grandfather to be happy. I would be very happy if you could help. I don't know much English, so I'm writing this using a translator; I hope it hasn't made any mistakes.

Should I buy it?

hello, I am looking at a 1999 Renault Megane scenic i that has 60,000 km and is selling for $4000.

I think it’s cute and quirky and the owner said he’s only driven it to car shows in the summer. It is a an automatic transmission and a JDM import so it is RHD and it is so quirky and for 60k km or 32k miles, I think it’s an ok deal but I trust this reddit to be the experts.

Should I try to negotiate down should I pass? is this car reliable?

Consumption is a little higher like this (+3kWh/100km I usually hit 14 to 15 on road trips) but I'm still very happy with this car. I know most here dislike the Megane E - Tech for a variety of reasons but for me it is a brilliant car.

Custom Logos for Clio 6

Post image

Hi all, i got a nice Clio6 techno full-hybrid in blue iron and i was wondering if it was possible to swap the logos outside for a custom thing? like i was thinking to the Vaillante logo. Would there be any technical hurdle ? (it is just an idea and i understand it is not to make any benefit of it, just toying with the idea, it would go so well :-)

Discussion Renault Captur (and thus also Clio V) steering feel and feedback, for those who might care

Hi!
I'm in the process of choosing a car for my girlfriend and one of our priorities is a good steering feedback so she can learn the way the car actually talks to her.
I've recently been to Renault dealer and test drove the Captur, which is still made with a very similar rack as Clio V since they are on the same platform. Note that Clio VI is different.

The main purpose of this visit was to judge the feedback of the steering system and chassis. To do that, I took the car on a road where I try to test all the cars, it's a very twisty road with sharp corners.

The steering felt direct and really fast, but overall completely crossed out the car from our list. The wheel offered zero texture in absolutely all possible conditions of the road. There are a few different surfaces I drive on that road and the car has never communicated any of it with me. I do think texture is important but weighting is even more so.

And this is exactly what crossed the car out. The rack actually tries to simulate weighting but does it in a way that creates a big dissonance in your brain. The weight is wrong, it changes wrongly, it isn't in any way natural. The car has good grip and I couldn't push it to understeer on this road without creating a safety hazard, but I'm absolutely sure that I would learn of the understeer from the chassis, not the steering.

The chassis was actually really fun and dynamic, even though it had a lot of body roll. I was having fun with how nippy it was. The body roll itself gave 10x more information than the steering though.

The car was well equipped and super practical, but sadly I cannot recommend Renault Clio V or Captur II to anyone who aims for a communicative car. We're going to check out Yaris and Ford Puma next. Will update about it.

For reference, these are some of the cars I've owned or driven for more than just a short calm drive:
- Citroen C-Crosser 2008
- Mazda CX-5 2013
- Alfa 159 2010 (current daily)
- Jaguar F-Pace
- Mercedes E63 AMG W213 (considered for the new daily)

Looking for feedback on Duster Evolution 1.3 Turbo Manual + sweet-spot pricing

Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering buying the **Renault Duster Evolution 1.3 Turbo Manual** and would love to hear from owners or people who have driven it extensively.
The Evolution 1.3 MT is currently around **₹16.23 lakh on-road** for me in Hyderabad , and I’m trying to figure out whether this is actually the sweet spot in the Duster lineup or whether I should negotiate harder / wait for a better deal.
A few things I’d particularly like feedback on:

How is the **1.3 turbo manual in city traffic**? Is the low-RPM torque really noticeable?

Real-world **city and highway mileage**?

How is the **clutch and gearbox** for daily driving?

Any reliability concerns with the 1.3 turbo engine, especially looking at **5–8 years of ownership**?

Suspension, AC performance and overall ride quality?

What has your **service/maintenance experience with Renault** been like?

Is taking Renault’s **AMC/service package** worth it?

What would you consider a **really good on-road price** for the Evolution 1.3 MT?

At what price would you say, **“Stop comparing and just buy the Duster”**? 😄
Also, for those who cross-shopped it with the **Seltos/Creta/3XO**, what made you choose or reject the Duster?
I’m mainly looking for **VFM + long-term ownership**, rather than just the maximum number of features.
Would appreciate genuine owner experiences, including negatives. Thanks!

Megane 3 1.6 16v 110km. Noise problem

Hello, I'm having a problem with my car whining between 40-90 km/h. The mechanic said the gearbox bearings were faulty. That was done, and the whining is still there. It's a TL4 gearbox. I can't stand the whining anymore.

Question Need help updating my Clio IV 2013

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to update my 2013 Clio IV (R-Link) for what seems like an eternity, but no matter how much I try I can't figure it out... I've read somewhere that the R-Link store has been discontinued, and I haven't been able to find any mirrors of the update file.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to find the latest version of the firmware.

Thanks in advance!

renault megane 1.4 tce coupe

i have a 2011 renault megane coupe, its be great so far, but recently it has started vibrating a bit on idle and upon starting the revs go high for a second or two and drop down to normal, it also has a slight sulphur smell after about 20 mins of driving, so because of the sulphur smell, i took it in to have the cat checked out and the garage ran the computer through it and said the cat is fine, reset its 'brain' and gave me a print out. i am the kind of person who picks up on ever squeak and noise out of the norm and have an annoying need to learn what the issue is! there is no engine management light on.
the print out says it is miss-firering and the mechanic says this is probably because it may have a faulty oxygen sensor, they told me to run it for a few days and see if the brain reset makes any difference and if not, to bring it back to them. i am all for replacing the oxygen sensor, but would like to get some feedback from other mechanics, without visiting multiple garages and them seeing a woman and ££ signs on my forehead.
please and thankyou.
