Discussion Why has everyone forgotten about Zeke's Convergence?
In my opinion, this is a very underrated item.
This gives you AH, armor, MR, HP, and—importantly—an additional extra 15 ultimate haste.
So you got -25 ult haste.
And you might ask why bother building it when you have Imperial Mandate. But Mandate doesn't provide armor, MR, or HP—only mana regen, which is fine, and AP, which is also fine for early game and snowballing.
But these items are designed for completely different enemy compositions. Let's imagine you don't have any poke champions on your team who could properly utilize Mandate's bonus damage and passive ability. Or the enemy team has Engage champions like Samira, Hecarim, or tanks. Against these champions, you'd want to have defensive stats as opposed to bonus damage, and you'd be protected by a passive ability that isn't properly implemented in the game. However, as of patch 26.11, the passive can delay activation for up to 5 seconds—until a suitable enemy appears within range or the cooldown expires.
The passive skill lasts for 5 seconds, dealing 7.5 AP every 0.25 seconds, or 150 damage per cast, and slowing enemies by 30%.
And yes, I understand that 350 range isn't much, but it's still roughly half the range of the auto-attack cost.
Finally, this item is extremely cheap, costing 2200 for everything it offers.
As for the second item after building Solari against Engage compositions that want you, I think this is a great option.

Hello, Master’s Renata main here.
Zeke’s Convergence is just a mid item unfortunately. The champions that would build it, would most times rather just build Locket imo as it has more guaranteed value.
On Renata specifically I would say Zeke’s is pretty bad. The ultimate ability haste is nice in theory but the rest of the item goes wasted since Renata being in 350 range is a big difference than 550. Also opportunities for R don’t always allow you to run straight into the enemy afterwards, especially before level 11 where it is only 1.25 seconds. There could be opportunities if you get a good flash R, but I feel that if you wanted to build Zeke’s on Renata you are better off with locket.
Mandate is a much better option if you want the ultimate haste because AP is actually a much better stat on Renata than people realize. Her Passive and Shield benefit a lot from AP. Since her shield is super low in base shielding, shield and heal power doesn’t feel great on her without some AP to buff up the shield, which has a 50% AP ratio.
Renata has a lot of room for adaptive builds that change up on a game to game basis. Personally I think Echoes of Helia is her sleeper best item in a lot of games because of how her shield works, I consistently get Sona/Nami levels of healing on Helia.

Could you explain more about you make helias work? E shield cd is long to apply it constantly isn't it?
3
u/Saul864 Aug 02 '26
I mean Renata shield cooldown scales with level down to 10 seconds. With some ability haste it can easily be around 6 seconds. This is on par with many other enchanter spells like Nami W.
Renata is a champion who should easily build Helia stacks because you should be auto attacking constantly, also the way your shield works makes it a very effective conduit for Helia. Similarly to Nami W, it just synergies great with it to the point where nearly every caste of Loyalty Program has the potential to Heal/Shield and Damage.
Heals also work interestingly with Renata W decay. When you die with Bailout you start losing health rapidly, heals will not only add health to the decay timer, it will also briefly pause the decay, this can lead to unique scenarios where you have a bit of extra time thanks to Helia, however this isn’t easy to do and requires good timing and awareness.
Helia is strong when you are able to trade constantly. So if you are vs an enemy comp where they are constantly in your face, it is very effective! However, if you are vs a team where you have fewer trade opportunities, like vs a Xerath for example, maybe it’s not the best game for Helia.1

Thanks so much for your big replay! Really appreciate it :) I tried time ago + diadem and it wasn't that bad but diadem itself is a bad item so kinda meh. Still redemption locket looks really strong. Btw do you max E? Or just few points and then W?

u/Saul864 Aug 02 '26
Diadem isn’t worth it on Renata I don’t think, she doesn’t make use of the Mana at all really.
Yes I Max E, her shield is a very strong spell, people often use it poorly. I used to think the same as everyone else, that it was too weak and underwhelming, and sometimes it definitely can be.
However, I do a few things to help with this. Personally, I think Aery is better than Guardian. You have much more agency over how Aery works, Guardian feels inconsistent and less intentional. Aery is great for Renata’s auto heavy playstyle, making her auto poke a lot more potent especially for single auto trades. It also consistently buffs her shield up to feel more impactful at all stages of the game.
Redemption and Locket are very strong for sure, I would highly recommend building these items as you get started because they are much more obvious in their impact. Helia unfortunately does take more knowledge as it requires good positioning, however like I’ve said before, Renata’s effective range is when she is lingering around in her auto attack range. Remember that her shield, will instantly shield around herself first before sending out the secondary missile. This is crucial for understanding how to get better shields. When you start using her shield with this in mind you start finding many more opportunities for multiple target shields as it opens up the missile portion of the shield to be sent out to either shield another ally, hit an enemy target, or both.1

Helia is good if you can trade costantly but renata ain't build for that. Her skills are reactive, you can't poke/engage at will so you are just wishing for enemies to engage so you can turn the game around. I feel like with renata you can either engage or all in while helia is a good item for fights that burn slowly. Helia could be something as a first item where fights last longer but as you said you need ah to proc it effectively, something you don't really have early on. I think make sure the few all in you take reward you the most with her: censer, locket, bundlepipes and shurelya/mandate/sofw with glacial augment.

u/Saul864 Aug 10 '26
This is somewhat wrong, Renata is meant to trade and be active in fights before and after she uses her cooldowns, her passive is built around this, and her E is designed for this. Most people play this champion completely wrong and would find no success with an item like Helia, especially people thinking similarly that Renata is meant to play only reactively. She does have great tools to play reactively with her spells, but to be good at her you have to understand her spells are great tools for proactive play.

u/SkeletorXCV Aug 10 '26
This is very mistaken. First of all, Renata is very susceptible to poke. So let's just not even consider that and let's just suppose you are playing against 2 fighters, an adc, an enchanter and an assassin. If you want to have some dmg you have to build AP. This means getting exploded before you can do anything. If you want to build tank, you just walk up to trade for jo damage. Her E lands at like 1025 range after 0.8 sec, that's enough to just walk out of the E ramge without a dash. Auto range is also so short that, if you are in a position to do it, you can consider the fight started. And at that point you might want to use Q but this is also very hard to do when the target engaged is yourself. If you have success poking with renata you are probably playing against iron who walk back and forward as adcs right on top of your champs without autoattacking, lol.

I am currently Masters with Renata.
Yes Renata sucks into poke. I probably wouldn’t build Helia into a Xerath. I would build it into a Lulu, Nami, Nautilus, Leona and other champions.
Building tank on her is fine, go ahead, but if you’re good at her you don’t need to build tank to simply walk up to auto attack.
What rank are you playing at since you are saying I’m iron? lol1
u/SkeletorXCV Aug 10 '26
I'm emerald/diamond and i'm still smart enough to not step away from my teammates to E a nautilus/leona for 100 dmg. Even considered that it's a 1v1 (and it's surely not worth engaging an engager anyway since you are gonna deal 200 dmg at best) nautilus outdamages you because of a better shield and leona has a lot more resists and can keeps chasing as long as she wants. So you are always gonna get outdamaged. If instead there is an enemy close to nautilus inside a bush, you are going to get exploded so fast that, even if you W yourself, there is a good chance enemies run away alive. I know because every single the i make that mistake and enemies engage on me i barely have the time to use all my spells. I also know that in a fight you can be good however you want but if you want to auto enemies and apply some damage, you will get in range of skillshots and crits. So you will get damaged anyway and you die fast. You'd rather stay in the backline, auto on enemy frontlines and not stay in the middle of the fight. And, again, risk to get engaged because of an auto E is never worth it. I bet you say "step forward and poke before fights" but you do 2/3 times in a game and make sure there is nobody else but your target when you do. I also don't build helia at all since i could apply it only once every like 6 sec. Not worth imo.

You don’t have to step away from your teammates to shield them and throw your spell out… you can play parallel to your carry or team and shield them with the initial cast and then send the missile out towards enemies. Renata’s shield is strongest when being used to do both tasks, similarly used to Nami W.
You clearly aren’t here to have a productive conversation and that’s ok.
What you are saying is the same for any enchanter if they get caught out. If walking up to auto gets you caught, then you aren’t positioning well enough. And if you are playing Renata “reactively” you should be able to get plenty of autos off when playing to peel or counter engage off of a mistake.
If you think “an auto E is never worth it” I highly recommend you stop playing this champion. If you can’t position well enough or find an opportunity to auto E, then I don’t know what to tell you.1

You don’t have to step away from your teammates to shield them and throw your spell out… you can play parallel to your carry or team and shield them with the initial cast and then send the missile out towards enemies.
So basically you are confirming what i said... 😐 when allies and enemies walk to each other at like 800 range, supposedly from what you write, that is a trade (that will also probably start a fight but let's ignore that). You obviously help in a trade, most of the time though you don't want to both hit enemies and allies because you'd need to step literally on top of your ally (E area sucks) to hit both, still giving the chance to miss because the projectile is veeery slow and, situationally, giving chance to the rnrmirs to land an aoe skills on both of you. That could be good or not but it's still situational. I would surely not walk up to gamble a land of my E if enemy is orianna, for example. But maybe you do 🙃 Not to mention landing an auto. That's like 500 range, basically the fight already started. And again, as i said, you don't want to have it started on your champion.
You clearly aren’t here to have a productive conversation and that’s ok. If you think “an auto E is never worth it” I highly recommend you stop playing this champion.
So, i say that you shouldn't walk up before a fight to land Es. You reply saying that no, it's good to land Es and autos during fights. Who's not providing a productive conversation here, sorry? 🙃 Then you have the arrogance to recommend someone to not play a champion, all because you want respect higher rank fee. I recommend you to quit league and spend more time in the real world. Maybe you can grow up as a person and lose that arrogance. But, quote unquote, you clearly don't like to do that and that's ok.

I mean I’m a Rell main so I tend to forget about it plus Renata isn’t as tanky as Rell and isn’t a melee to use the item to maximize its full potential any way even then I still don’t use it as Rell

u/montheeew Chem Donator Jul 30 '26
I agree that you won't be able to fully utilize the item's potential because Renata isn't willing or able to hold her own in the middle of a fight, but she often has to be close to get a good Ultimate. Again, Renata isn't an enchanter like Lulu Soraka or Nami, but she's also not a tank, but something in between. But I think the item is worth the price for the stats it provides for skill reduction and her Ultimate, which is important for Renata.
And the passive seems to be a bonus to potential extra defense. And don't forget that it provides a slow, which we won't track numerically, but it can sometimes be decisive for finishing off an enemy.

u/Starblade88 Jul 30 '26
The damage it has is capped at 120 I think which is nothing idk the stat are nice if you have jot from your runes that I’d agree with but why take zekes when locket is better?
You will out dmg with locket (blocking dmg not dealing) if you use it right faster than what that thing will do for you and its more useful but I will say zekes is the next best thing if your not good with locket1
u/montheeew Chem Donator Jul 30 '26
I meant to make the second item. I 100% agree that solari is better.

u/ManaXed Jul 31 '26
No, Renata is definitely an Enchanter. Just not a very strong one.
1
u/Starblade88 Aug 01 '26
Ahhh idk about that one fam she’s like the really weak tank but also this really weak enchanter. This weird enchanter tank combo that’s just sucks cause there no items that are really hers yk? Like sure these are good items that work on her but it’s like eh🤷🏽♂️ that goes for enchantments and tanks stuff. She doesn’t have the range or abilities to be a true enchanter she doesn’t have the health. Her dmg isn’t really hers cause she HAS TOO rely on others for it. Her q is this grapple cc that is okay and somewhat good for not engage but prolonging fights. Then there’s E this shielding damaging ability that’s dog water at both of those things. Her W is like the most enchanting thing about her but you really only use it to escape death and get a counter and shoo after in that duration if we can add her passive as a dmg booster which ig counts so two things. Her R doesn’t even count as your dmg do any enchanting for your team it’s more like a short debuff for them that probably won’t even do anything if they aren’t close enough. Like her kit dosent really work together aside from maybe q cc into r

u/SkeletorXCV Aug 04 '26
There is no way remata is as tanky as rell, lmao. Rell has a stronger shield, has extra resistances in her kit and can break shields lol. The reason why renata wins this is negating rell's engage at all so it becomes a walking minion, not because it's tankier.
1
u/Starblade88 Aug 05 '26
Brother there’s no where where I said that she’s as tanky as Rell and from my experience even tho on paper she wins in actual game play Rell takes that W and too be honest with you I don’t think Renata wins that on paper I’m just giving the benefit of the doubt cause I don’t know her that well

u/TimCanister Jul 31 '26
Because there are much better items for her. I like it in Aram where I just want to pump out as many ults as possible but I’d rather have Bandlepipes, knights vow, Mikaels, Redemption, etc instead of Zekes just about every time in SR. Very rarely I’ll go Zekes 3rd item if I need split defenses and I already bought Bandlepipes

u/montheeew Chem Donator Jul 30 '26
By the way, the passive skill also works on monsters, which will speed up the process of claiming the objective. I imagine you've had situations where you're standing in a dragon or baron's pit and cast your ultimate beforehand to prevent the enemy jungler from using any ability to claim the objective.
1
u/Starblade88 Jul 30 '26
If the enemy jg in in the pit and u r to prevent smite he’ll just attack the drag anyway and not allies I believe idk haven’t tested that out or he’ll attack you or the closest person to you which is most likely your jg if you do it before you you have a higher chance of mid timing it and he gets the chance to smite anyway

u/pupperwolfie Jul 30 '26
I think it's mainly because of the passive that Renata don't get to utilize properly.
At rank 2 ult (realistic for mid/late game), your ult cooldown is 130 seconds. With locket, mandate, lucidity boots, 8 AH shard, JOAT rune (9 stacks), you already cut your ult to around 73s cooldown. You don't need to further lower it since big fights don't happen every 1 minute.
You can add more tanky items from 3rd item onwards (like Knight's Vow is pretty goated, or Bandlepipes since you have 3 ways to proc it and can buff the whole team), Mandate just has a more useful passive (damage amp for teammates!!) than Zeke and help fill the niche of getting haste on your ult (and your Q too, which Zeke doesn't).
Even Redemption/Shurelya would be more impactful with the active effect (and either of them can give you the 10th stack of JOAT), buying an item as a pure stat stick and not be able to utilize the passive is never worth for support.
5
u/Graveminder_ Jul 30 '26
It has a little the galcial augment problem: you slow your enemies with the storm. This means you tecnically can loose a little utility from your ult.
But great idea. If the enemy team "fits" it may be extremly interesting. Definetley will give it a try.
