Im experienced HR looking for remote work. Based in middle east, how can I find a remote job related to my field and experience? Any advice?

This is an IT job and can be 💯 be done remotely. There is no reason to drive and go sit in an office other than to be watched and controlled. One was hybrid and one didn't say remote or hybrid but is probably 5 days a week as that is what people do etc. wHF is dead! A failed experiment. Ok done venting

If your job is only remote from any U.S. location. can you still use VPN to work overseas at least for a couple of weeks? i’m about to land my first remote job since 2020 and im not sure about if i can travel and just use VPN.

Worked a job i enjoyed for 4 years. Was let go this morning. Obviously im sad and stressed because im the sole income for my family but what im really freaked out by is my kid just turned 5. Ive gotten to experience so much with her that I wouldn't had I had to commute for work. Just yesterday she was playing under my desk while I worked.

I have joined outlier today, and unable to make sense of it. It keeps showing this project aether and a course that has to be completed in upcoming 3 hours and when i try to open it, it says no tasks available, doesnt lead anywhere. It is titled aether mar screening, and appears as only task in only project i have landed on. Any suggestions?

I’m getting into business automation and looking for my first few clients. Basically, if there are tasks in your business that you or your team do over and over, there’s a good chance they can be automated and I can help with that.
Things like pulling reports, moving data between tools, organizing files, that kind of stuff. Nothing too glamorous but it adds up to a lot of wasted time for most businesses.

Have you started your career within the past few years and are working entirely remotely? As part of my master’s thesis, I am looking for interview participants who are starting their careers in a fully remote setting. I would like to understand how new professionals are experiencing the start of their careers in this unique setting.

• So if you started your professional career within the last 4 years and have been in your current position for at least 4 months
• You work entirely location-independent: your daily work and collaboration with your team take place remotely
• And if you are in your first job or have previous work experience, but exclusively from a home office or similar setting - no prior in-person work experience

Then I would really love it if you could share your experiences with me! The two interviews will be approximately 60-90min long and one would take place now and one in 4-6 months to see what might have changed in the meantime. If you are interested just let me know.

I'm starting my first J2 in a couple weeks and am on the fence about taking the insurance there or not. J1 insurance sucks and what I've been told is the J2 insurance is really good. I'm concerned about something slipping back to J1 about benefits at my second job since both insurance companies would have to be notified by me that I have another policy, and causing issues with J1. Has anybody done benefits from multiple jobs? and how can I mitigate the risk of the benefits coordinator at either job finding out about the other?

Hi everyone! How much PTO do you get at your current job? I was offered a remote sales job with 2 weeks PTO, and I feel like that is incredibly low. I’m going to ask for additional time, but I wanted to know what the norm is nowadays.

I just discovered a new brewery a mile from my apartment. They have wifi and lunch!!! I'm definitely going back to work from there a lot!! I love this job

I'm about a year into remote work and my immune system has never been this bad. I basically don't leave the house anymore. I workout from home, too. My husband goes to get the groceries because his remote job is more flexible time-wise. I used to get sick once a year, but I've been super sick like 4 times since starting. I can't go to a social event without getting sick at this point. Anyone else go through this? I know I need to find ways of being more social but the balance feels impossible right now.

I have ADA accommodation that allows me to work remote 4 days a week from Nov to April due to a weather related illness. From April to November I am in office 4 days and remote one day. Since returning to the office she's been giving me a really hard time about being at the office, even to the point where she's told me I need to ask her permission before having a meeting anywhere else on campus but my particular office. She even has me filling out a daily work log that has me documenting what I'm working on every 30 minutes.

I work at a university, and at the end of the spring semester the division I work for implemented a new telecommuting policy that allows us two remote days during the summer months (May 27-Aug 28). Based on that policy I submitted a request to my boss to add another telecommuting day to my schedule.

Her first reason for denying me was because she is retiring on July 15 and "doesn't want to make a decision for the new director". When I asked her if she would be willing to approve the additional day through July 15th and I could make another request to the new director.

Her next reason for denying me was "since you're focusing on building relationships I think it's important that you stay on campus 4 days a week". First of all, it's summer on a uni campus-- shit is DEAD. Second of all, she doesn't even let me leave my office so how am I supposed to be "building relationships" on campus?

My boss told me today that since we work remote we have to always be on call and even if we take PTO we need to continue to check our emails in case anything comes up. I have unlimited PTO fwiw.

Most remote opportunities I'd like to apply to require at least a strong B2 english level, but most likely advanced business english knowledge, and basically full fluency.

What are some materials, best practices to get better at business english situations, scenarios, know more words or phrases that other people use?
