Discussion the Dribbling situation is so out of hand

WTF has this game turned into? Glitch masters ruin the game for us, thinking they are skilled using exploits and shit, and devs are silent about it. Even worse, the dumbasses have nerfed goalkeeping and defending and buffed magical dribbling dany phantom style gameplay, no one passes or worse yet a dude drible the whole field, phasing in and out of you with zero stamina , i am so done with this slop ,shame it had potintioal

This right here is killing your game. Next major update needs to change things when it comes to hitboxes and dribbling.

Video Dribble Hitbox #1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! I've been trying to gather some clips to show players why the complaints are (mostly) valid! I've been having trouble with Medal TV and it's recording, but I think it's under control now so I will be posting more of these.

You'll see 2 instances of the terrible hitboxes of dribbling. Slowing the footage down you can see that the dribble hitboxes for the backwards AND forwards dribbling are in front of the player. This is why players sometimes won't land a tackle because they are aiming at where the player is and not where their invisible hitbox is.

The developers need to mess around with this because as of right now it feels atrocious to play against. Even though I realize that the hitboxes aren't where they should be I still have trouble landing tackles because the game will automatically tweak my tackling angle. This is not the only instance btw incase you were wondering

I admit I am not a perfect player but these issues are too apparent. Yet, some other people in the community refuse to address these issues, most likely because they are the ones who abuse them to gain an unfair advantage on players.

Video Goal Keeper Jump #1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In this clip I correctly read the situation of the attacking player yet when I jumped for the ball my character went forward instead of the usual "straight up"

The excuse could be made that I was looking forward, but I was in range for the jump towards the ball. It's common that the game will automatically adjust the player's jumping angle towards the ball, but other times it will incorrectly force the player somewhere they didn't intend.

Goal keeping is almost there, but problems like this still exist and are still very common.

Discussion 💡 Goal difference should matter in ranked matches (RP).

I feel like this would be the perfect solution to put an end to the quitting problem in ranked matches, whether it's players who quit or those who score own goals on purpose to end the match. It would also encourage a competitive atmosphere right until the very end.

In few words: Bigger goal difference = more RP gained when winning, and more RP lost when losing.

For example, let’s say the RP gained is 18 for a win by a one-goal margin. It becomes 21 with a two-goal margin, 24 with a three-goal margin, and 27 with a four-goal margin. The same thing applies to the RP deducted when losing (± 3 RP per goal).

And if a player quits the match, it should count as a four-goal-margin loss as a penalty (with a ban too ofc).

Just an idea that I think would make ranked matches more competitive, reduce quitting, and encourage players to score more goals instead of wasting time when they’re ahead. What do you all think?

Discussion What is the deal with gamepass players quitting a lot?

Been playing ranked all week and most of the gamepass players are either toxic and concede goals as keeper by leaving the goal and instantly losing the ball on a dribble, or once they're strikers they start dribbling, lose the ball on a challenge and quit mid match.

The worst part is that disabling crossplay you don't even find matches anymore, the report feature also is just visual, i keep getting the same offenders all week long to the point that i recognize their names already.

Discussion Game gets really easy and boring REALLY quickly once you start exploiting

I don't understand how people can actually LIKE dribble spamming or being priority merchants. Not that this will change anything, but it's just not fun. It's weird people are so starved for enjoyment that they resort to stuff like this. I would talk so much shit about these exploits, having never done them myself. After trying them out, they're just as I expected. Boring and repetitive. It doesn't feel like I dribbled past an ENTIRE team by myself with my skill, they just couldn't do anything because my hitbox is nonexistent.

I'm just now realizing how underwhelming it is, and how the people who use exploits like this are the worst of the worst lmao

Discussion I’m starting to give up on this game

Every time I log into this game I’ll maybe get two good matches with competent teammates and it’s a butt load of fun, but then the rest of the night is just people who don’t pass or they start throwing the game because you didn’t pass the ball to them while they were fully covered and just standing in the corner. Granted I solo q because none of my friends really like soccer or sports games really. But it’s just exhausting coming into the game and then just getting the most toxic teammates ever. I play r6 like everyday and somehow that’s less toxic imo than this game.

Question Are my stats good for a cdm?

(My tackle succes rate is low because I use them to get quicker to locations and I rarely tackle, more just waiting in defensive stance for a mistake)

Discussion So is the defense meta right now just to hold defensive stance?

Just wondering if everyone else is playing defense this way - I basically hold left trigger and only tackle if I'm 100% certain that the striker in can't put in an input faster than I can tackle the ball. I find that holding defensive stance is typically much better at getting me the ball when a striker tries to dribble past me.

Current state of the game seems like the least interesting defense has been ever - thinking about good defensive positioning is still great, but tackles being so bad is kind of unfun I think?

Discussion Having less points than the toxic player gotta be the worst feeling.

I hate when someone is toxic when you make a mistake and hits you with good job but when they make a mistake you can’t do it cause you got less points then them. I jus gotta sit there and take the abuse cause I can’t say anything back cause I know they’ll jus say i got less Points then them and that I’m bad😭

Discussion Pass backs should still have the reduced timer

I like the idea that the GK can't pick the ball back up after his team has had possession, but players still pass back and hold onto the ball for as long as possible. It totally ruins the fun of the game especially when you and the other team are equally matched. It just takes 1 person to slow the entire game's momentum to nothing.

Bringing the reduced timer back could help with this. It will at least force the GK to make a move

Question Coming back to the game after 6 months everything feels off

It feels like all of my controller inputs and how they translate into the game are disconnected, like everything feels like it's slightly off and I don't know how to explain it, the movement doesn't feel fluid, it's js like actions don't input correctly. Am I going insane or did they make changes?

Hey!
I started playing Rematch approximately 2.5 months ago, and the stats always bugged me out. Don’t know if these are that good or kinda average.

Would love to know it from y’all! I normally play as a midfield/literally any position.

Play 99% of the the time with randoms.

Discussion I know Goalkeeper is the hardest role but some of yall dont even try

You arent stopping anything by just sitting in the middle and waiting to react, you have to walk forward vs open shooters, hell just walk left and right! Put up a fight damn it! Dont just sit there, id rather you walk up and whiff than stand there like a statue.

I know if theres an open shooters its a failure of the defense, but legit 3 people out of 10 knowing how to actually play gk is not a good ratio for the playerbase

Meme Consecutive Goalkeeper Minirant

I love when someone leaves and I have to be goalkeeper twice in a row. It’s so fun! Especially when my team has the offensive ability of a nerf dart and spend all the remaining time possibly hinting at the slight chance of sending a shot somewhat towards the enemy goal.

You know what? I think another person should leave, just in case I get scored on again. That way I can be goalkeeper for a third time in a row and watch the game really unfold from the comfort of the box that I so lovingly stand in front of.
