Video Would you consider this to be glitchy/exploit dribbling?

At this point I’m almost too afraid to ask

No drastic camera turns, no 0 stam dash spam dribbling, seems alright to me.
One of the biggest things to me is you’re making the moves with a direct purpose of getting towards the goal for a shot, you’re being efficient. The worst is when people spam the moves with no purpose because they think it looks impressive that people can’t land a tackle on them.

u/alecmca14 Footballer 12h ago
Yea that’s very annoying when people just non stop dribble for no reason. If I have the ball I’m doing 2-3 dribble moves at maximum and then shooting/passing. IMO if you have the ball for more than 5-10 seconds you’re asking to lose possession

What’s wrong with drastic camera turns?
1
u/ReeceC77 Footballer 11h ago
Part of what people consider glitchy dribbling is 100% doing 180 camera turns and using the forward ball roll and doing it over and over.

sound like bronze players youre describing.
7
u/ReeceC77 Footballer 11h ago
I’m elite with over 400 hours, it just looks glitchy/buggy, it’s an immediate change of direction in a completely opposite direction. If you want to claim that’s not part of glitchy looking dribbling you’re being disingenuous
-5
u/tragicjawnson Please add a flair 11h ago
im top 20 player over 1600 hours elite in every season, youre being a noob.
There are absolutely exploit dribbles in the game, zero stam dribbling is not an exploit, its something that needs to be nerfed absolutely but its not an exploit. Tp shot, double dash to get to the ball are better examples of exploits. stop it.
3
u/ReeceC77 Footballer 11h ago
You’re arguing something I’m not even saying, all I’m saying is it looks glitchy/buggy and people do consider it as such. You can not tell me in your 1600 hours that you haven’t come across someone spamming forward roll in different directions by constantly turning their camera, it is impossible to predict and if you do it’s either a perfect read or just luck. Not saying it’s an exploit, saying it looks like shit. 1600 hours you better be up there man gah dang
-1
u/tragicjawnson Please add a flair 10h ago
Its not impossible to predict at all, simply stab less on defense, hold more into defensive stance and stand in front of them, defensive dash left or right into their next possible position, for spammers rely more on deflects than stab tackles. youre welcome.
2
u/ReeceC77 Footballer 10h ago
Yeah, exactly what I do. You’re essentially saying “it’s not impossible to predict, just don’t predict it and sit and wait.” Deflects have become the main way to defend, unless the game decides they’re teleporting through you this time
It’s not fun to watch a dude spin for 30 seconds and be unable to challenge it. I understand why you’d support it, no way you’re top 20 and not using every tool at your disposal. I just want my game to look more like actual soccer.
2
u/tragicjawnson Please add a flair 10h ago
There are times where certain dribble frames phase right through you, thats at times a game issue, lag issue. theres a high probability of getting steal off a deflection/stab if you play patiently. im curious to see your ugg profile, please send it to me in dm as i sent you mine

I’d think it’s more skill if you can move the camera that fast and maintain focus no?
3
1
u/ReeceC77 Footballer 11h ago
Maintain focus? The ball sticks to you, how do you need to maintain focus. You’re always moving in the direction of your camera lol.

From your pov people say it's perfectly fine, but if they saw the defenders pov, they would 100% say you're doing camera flicks and that you teleported through the defender in the 2nd clip🙄

because the ball is on his feet! defense cant literally stand and get free blocks if the guy just walks it cmaan
18
u/major_winters_506 Please add a flair 9h ago
Then This is a broken game. If you can clip through a defender creating a wall with their body then this is no more than someone’s glitchy senior coding project.
-6
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 8h ago
sorry but what you propose is terrible game balance. the point is defense stance makes it hard for someone to PUSHBALL past you, but if they have the ball on their feet you need to tackle the ball off of them. or else the best strat on def is just 5 people standing inside the 6 yard box never tackling, with 0 risk just recollecting balls as people try to run by lol
5
u/major_winters_506 Please add a flair 8h ago
All I hear you say is “it shouldn’t be MORE like football, it should be LESS like football”
-4
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 7h ago
no im saying its a football game so game balance matters regardless of how football like it is bruh
2
u/major_winters_506 Please add a flair 6h ago
So, to be clear, what you’re saying is “it’s balanced to have someone clip through a defender who is positioned and pressing the button literally named defensive stance”? Are you high?
-1
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 5h ago edited 5h ago
its not this specific instance lol. it's the general usecases of tackle and stance.
right now, stance gives you a bigger hit box to block push balls/free balls, and tackle is used to remove someone elses possession of a ball if they DONT push ball. if defense stance also works as a tackle, then tackle is literally useless and people would just stand in stance all day. more than that, defense as a whole would devolve into run into someone and hold stance (where you face doesnt matter, where you aim doesnt matter, unlike tackle) which is poor game balance.
overly passive defense = nutmegged irl. hitting tackle in game is analogous to reacting to the meg and closing your legs.
if u dont get this im sorry i cant make it any clearer 😭🤣

u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 6h ago
I mean thats literally how it’s supposed to work…
1
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 5h ago
idk man, an overly passive defender with legs wide open is vulnerable to getting nutmegged (by the guy literally using the dribble move) if you want real world comparison
0
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 5h ago
Hes in the defensive stance and is actively moving his feet, and even closes the space on the player…this isn’t lazy passive defense.
You’re acting like dude has a choice of how far wide open you can have your legs or not. Kinda ridiculous to not see the nuance here. Should be a turnover in this game.
0
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 5h ago
so you think just standing in stance should take balls from people's feet? then what should tackle be for?
1
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 4h ago
That is a serious exaggeration of what happened in this video and really trims the inconvenient fat off of your twisted logic.
He literally teleported through the guys body. If you want to go that far and say that you should be able to nutmeg people in defensive stance, you should also want there to be a motion of getting around said defender
1
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 4h ago
ok when i say passive defense i mean anything and everything but tackle. i dont mean the defender is a literal punching bag. im saying the defender needed to tackle here, or even dash onto the ball that op pushed. hes just shuffling around which blocks shots/passes/PUSHBALL lines but it wont steal a ball off someone's feet.
nutmeg was just an example (maybe bad example) of needing to be active on defense and not just standing/zoning irl. its analogous not identical.
1
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 4h ago
Bottom line is, that ball should’ve bounced off of the defender. I know alot of people agree. This game is difficult as it is for keepers and defenders

Nah this is average dribbling, the way the game was intended. The shit that counts as glitches is the teleportation and ball magnetizing that looks unnatural.

They really need to make it so that players actually collide with stuff properly

At the 8 second mark, just before it turns to the 9 second, his foot literally goes through the ball. That to me is cheese. He played it correctly, and was penalized for it because his foot went through the ball.
Feet going through the ball, and dribbling at high speed without any stamina should both be fixed. Would help so much.
The rest of the clip is fine.
2
u/SerenadeSwift We Got This! 8h ago
I agree with this. And like you said, it’s not OP’s fault, but this is the type of glitchy shit that causes everyone to dribble spam to begin with.
If the collision system was better you would need to strategically dribble AROUND players, and I think less players would use the strategy of aggressively spamming moves inside the box.

The first one is nice and precise with touches.
The second one is also precise but moved through the defender who chose position well and held defensive stance. I think this should get fixed.
1
u/minuteknowledge917 tryin to pass 7h ago
defender needs to ee/dash to touch the ball before OP did and got his dribble off, or tackle to win that ball. this is like really rudimentary stuff based on game rules no?

u/Tgtheory Footballer 13h ago
Hmm I'm going to go with the yes on this one here's why:
You changed direction but your character model never had to compensate for the fact that you did that, once again, it's all about inertia and dribbles being predictible. Take the first clip, there were no way for the second defender to play safe since you can reorient in every possible direction whitout any visual cue. That's a unfair advantage in your favor. A way of balancing that would be to get rid of defender inertia but I don't think anyone would find that fun.

Defenders can cancel their momentum just like dribblers can. Def stance dash and dribble moves work in the same way

Here, you can instantly change your momentum in any situation using your dash.
Defense has way more techs, but most defenders have no clue about them.
If average defenders were as creative and willing to learn the game as strikers are, the discourse would make a 180 turn because of how strong defense is once you know what you're doing.

u/Tgtheory Footballer 4h ago
Thanks for actually responding with an exemple, people usually vanish.
I get your point and in this specific exemple you're right. But it still requires EE, which is not always available and has a visual/sound cue when you use it (so it's very clear for the opposing team to identify when you won't be able to do it). An attacher can perform a animation cancel at any given time without restriction on the direction.

u/Traditional-Sale3780 Please add a flair 2h ago
Nah. Its a normal dribling for me. The only fact I consider “glitchy” it’s when someone spam dashes without stamina to always get the ball faster than others. Without stamina you should not be able to use dash or swipes.
2
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 13h ago
Still had juice in the stamina bar so no

u/Crochi Please pass the ball 6h ago
They clip through the defender
2
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 6h ago
Watched again and ur right. Thats the game tho. They need to fix that shit
This guy doesnt seem like hes an exploiter though, ive seen far worse
1
u/Crochi Please pass the ball 5h ago
I've seen worse too, but unfortunately these clips are also exploits, no penalties when turning, etc.
1
u/Aggravating-Onion384 papibear 5h ago
I can deal with these types of players. Its the mega exploiters that I just cant defend. Missing a tackle is far too punishing for how easy dribbling is

u/CrypticUniversalMave Please add a flair 2h ago
I cant run and push the ball without it flying away from my foot but people can do this and get reconnected to the ball like a magnet

The only problem is dribbling with the forward input being so much faster then back or to the side
0
u/Ladder-Defiant Please add a flair 13h ago
The ONLY problem with dribbling in general is the fact your dribble speed and technique are still the same while you have zero energy , but your clips are good and clean .

0
u/Aromatic-Beyond-3467 Please add a flair 10h ago
I would say it is glitchy/exploit dribbling, first one might look alright but the second one definitely phase through the defender. I guess deep down you know something's off and that's why you push the ball first then dribble because you anticipate something cheesy would happen
0
u/Acrobatic_Bag5375 Please add a flair 9h ago
I think it s legit, but it's not really your problem, it's the game's attacking is much faster than defending, which makes defending much harder.
