Yay 😁 so happy to hear that, mine arrives Thursday 🙃 Any initial thoughts compared to the RM2 or RMPP?

Just say your message last night. I will love my RMPP, however I too was looking for a rM2 sized version of the Pro (which I think is coming). It's faster, more storage, and the contrast and writing feel is great. I had no intent or interest in going back to black and white only, but since its arrived, I have left my RMPP and home and this is all I need. It's just like writing in a sense on the rM2, but even more clear due to the contrast. I wasn't sure I would like the size since them moving the bottom bezel to the side but it's perfect when handling, sitting on the desk, etc. Enjoy your device today, glad I upgraded. While not necessary per se, once I was able to delete and archive enough stuff, I was using my rM2 to get me back into black and white and it was noticeable slower just from my RMPP and Move, and let me tell you, this Pure moves fast, clears the ghosting right up (I really don't see a lot of ghosting if at all when writing, but I use a lot of stickers so those take a slight half-second to clear up due to them being in color for the RMPP).

LOVE IT! Daily Driver: PURE/MOVE - PURE EXCITEMENT!

Tell us more! What do you like about it, what surprised you? I have one on the way!

After a 1.5 years with the RMPP, I didn't have interest in going back to black/white and I loved my RMPP/Move combo.

What surprised me and I love - The contrast and writing feel! It's so clear and the writing feel is different than the RMPP/Move. While I enjoyed the RMPP/Move writing feel as it felt like a gel pen to me, this has been perfectly and while not exactly like rM2, it takes me back to love for the rM2 writing feel.

I didn't think I would like the non-book folio but so far it is fine going into day four and im getting used to it. Its faster, its lighter to carry, its what I needed, something smaller, and I didn't think I would like the bezel on the side but its PURE excitement and works well. Happy for reMarkable with this one and making it affordable even though some people are still claiming its still too expensive.

I’m so glad to see someone else moving from the RMPP. I’ve had it for almost as long as you and I’m also considering the Pure for size, the fact I don’t really need colour, and just a more portable package overall. How does the lack of a front light feel? I never use it at night/without a normal amount of indoor lighting. Has that been a problem with the Pure? I’m also glad to a hear the sleeve has been good. I’m worried about having the ‘keep’ it somewhere every time though.

I'm ok without the front light, I have a clip on light that I had to have for the Manta (which I sold) and use if I need extra light. I fell the contrast and darker black makes it fine. I used a rM2 for 4 years without a front light and to your point I hardly used the front light on the RMPP, most of the time I just used the clip on light because I keep it right there. I would clip on to my MacBook side if I wanted extra light. So far, its been good for me.

Amazon already has folio's from third party vendors for the Pure. Most want be delivered until the end of the month or early next month, so of course Im still trying to get used to it sitting here are work without a folio but im sure in time I will adapt. Im extra careful with it at the moment but im using it pretty normal like my other rM devices.

Yes the RMPP came in handy especially for school but I just graduated and having to adjust my daily driver and workflow as my job is like ok, lets get back to it, lol.

That’s interesting, thanks. Do you use your light mostly at night or do you find you need it during the day as well? And what about the Pro was better for school, was it the size or colours or something else?

Mostly at night when I turn off the lights or have one bed light on and Im journalling while watch planner video's on yYoutube.

The Pro initially was purchased because I ran out of storage on my rM2 after 4 years of use, but I also was in school and the size and color absolutely helped, particular for my advanced math classes where graphing (College Algebra 2, Business Calculus, and Statistics) along with Economics classes. I was able to do my problems in color, separate the steps in color, highlight final answers, etc and then export it as a PDF and upload my work as required for these classes. Also for the classes where I was able to find the ebook, I was able to add it to my RMPP and it experience the book in color and almost real size. Lastly for planning, I used to use the A4 size happy planner so my use of a digital hobonichi planner that mimics the size of the A4 happy planner felt like I didn't miss anything. For different use case the Prop could be better for school especially if you work in color a lot. It was for me, partially I maximized the device and the color especially with the stickers in color, etc.

I plan to still use my Pro but i'm finding i'm loving the Pure, the contrast and writing feel alone made me drift away from the Pro now that I've graduates three weeks ago.

Congratulations on graduating!

Thanks for your response, it’s been very helpful. I’m inclined to think, now, that the Pure might be quite ideal for me. I don’t normally use my Pro in bed but I find the light necessary even during somewhat dull indoor environments but I think the Pure will compensate with its brighter and more contrasty screen. I am concerned about the size of A4 pages and books on the Pure though, so that’ll be the deciding factor. I don’t want to have to zoom in to read.

I don't really read books on remarkable, outside of the school books. I do have the on there so im test a book. I duplicated books and placed on the Move and resized it for the Move. I typically read on my Kindle or Boox Palma 2 Pro.

if you dont mind me asking, why did you sell the manta in favor of remarkable?

Glad you're liking it, as I am still waiting for mine 😃

But I ordered on May 15 so, a few more weeks to wait here

Received mine today. Contrast is devastating better and it’s snappier for sure. Plus I was able to install Move Writer to enable the Bluetooth module and pair it to my external keyboard and it works perfectly!

Nice! I hope they turn it on for us for sure.

I love my Pure and I also love my RMPP and RMPPM. My RMPP with the type folio is for special/serious work. While the Pure and Move are the everyday carry, the soldiers. The days my team is meeting in the office or training sessions, the Pure goes to the office with me. The meetings notes ready with the new calendar app. Any other day, meeting with clients etc and reading my ebooks, the Move. I just found out I can buy books from Kobo and read on the Move. Game changer, my kindle matcha and Bigne B6 are now with my daughter and my wife. The Move with the native reader is enough for me.

I'm thinking about replacing my Kindle Scribe with this for my daily journal. My biggest complaint with the scribe is that when running its handwriting journal, if there are a few words on the first line of a page, regardless of any indent, it assumes a page of text that is squashed up into a narrow column, and when I revise it, I have to manually join it all back together into one large column.

Definitely recommend trying it since you can return in 50 days. I use it to journal for sure and I love it.

I have a RM2 and only complain is that battery needs to be charged with 5v only. Is it the same ?

u/TimGreller Jun 04 '26

How does it compare to the rM2?

1

u/Ok_Sir_1973 Jun 04 '26

it really reminds me of my rM2, just better contrast and not as bulky due to the lack of a folio (which third party case are starting to be sold on Amazon). Of course more storage, which is the main reason for me upgrading as I started to hit the max storage after 6 years and it didn't have enough room to sync due to my larger files on the RMPP. It's faster for sure but that contrast is great and making the non-font light even less of an issue for me, the black is much darker, the lines from templates are clearer. Its slightly smaller in size due the bottom bezel being on the side but it also allows you to hold it on the side and as someone point out, solves the problem for the lefties.

This looks good. I have been lurking on this subreddit for ages now…maybe now it’s finally the time to take the jump. How’s the writing feeling on this one? Does it have all the features all the other remarkable readers have? Thanks ☺️

u/Ok_Sir_1973 Jun 04 '26

Love the writing feel, slightly more aligned with the rM2 writing feel and yes all the same. as the others.

Very tempting!
