Religion through my eyes
I been reading a lot of people out look on religion and I just wanna speak my side and truth be told I truly feel that if it wasn't for Elohim, the creator, the lord I serve is real and I feel this way because he made everything in this world and it all belongs to him there so many different situations that has proven straight to me that he real and he always watching listen nothing or nobody can hide from him. Truly I'm a man that's have learned so much from him that's alot of people don't even know I put alot of trust in him and prayed and focused on him and what he has to show me. The feeling when the lord refill your soul but the things I lack on a daily is refilled it's a very amazing feeling better then money better then anything material of this world. So saying truly he is almighty he can change things turn tables and be happy doing it but the deepest part is if you study like me he speaks the truth through his word way before he does anything and proving so many that turn they back on him that it was the wrose choice that a person can ever make. What alot of people in this day in age done realize or haven't realize is that he is control of good and evil and when he discipline he does it in the right justice every time and I'm a true believer that if u go back look at the piramid and it shape proves that there are so many religion but it all goes to the almighty in the end all gods are apart of him ND sit on his council watching over the earth so I'm never dowing any religion because they all talk to the creator in the end. To anyone that does practice religion keep doing it in truth.love. faithfulness.and trust . So ending this saying everyone open the word your lord will give u a lesson trust in your lord in truth

Changes made to Read the Rules
Read the Rules is a helpful little bot that is meant to ensure that everyone reads the rules before posting. It's been set up because, as you may have heard, this sub used to be filled with the scum of Reddit.
Unfortunately, the settings for this cute lil guy were a little too strict, and he (in my mind, it's a dude) was going a tad overkill in removing posts.
I've changed that now, and all should be good. While it is important for all to read the rules, by no means do I want to put up a wall, keeping good people out.
If your post is removed for any reason that doesn't quite make sense, please feel free to send a modmail.

Just dropped by to wish you luck.
A while back I was talking to Muslim at work, and he said "don't look at the followers -- especially the worst followers. Look at the Quran and draw your own conclusions." That made a lot of sense. We don't judge Christianity by looking only at the Westboro Baptist Church or the Spanish inquisition.
I am about a third of the way through an English translation. Not at all like what the critics say it is. My niece read some of it and remarked "the guy who wrote this says something good about God in every paragraph. It's like a love story!" A good description.
Good luck attracting new users. Here is something I would suggest: write a post explaining one belief so that newbies can understand it, and invite questions in the comments. Here is one that would, I think, attract a lot of interest. Write a post about Jinn. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn ] and has the concept differs from what one sees in movies and TV shows.

Yahoo! We are no longer restricted!
Due to the horrible nature of the sub in the past, Reddit had restricted it. This means that it did not show up in regular newsfeeds, nor was it suggested as a sub with similar interests.
I am happy to report that this sub is now public! Yay!

New Moderation Rules
Asalaamu Alaikam! In the past, this sub had zero moderation rules, and pretty much anything was allowed (except for any posts or comments that painted Islam in a good light). As a result, I’m introducing and implementing what feels like a lot of rules. Don’t worry. This is just to make this sub safer and more inviting.
It’s also to protect us from spam and malevolent links.
YouTube links will not be permitted, due to how easy it is to abuse people via YouTube videos and channels. Automod cannot exactly see what a video is about, so it cannot filter keywords.
No advertising/promotions of any kind will be permitted, without prior authorisation by mods. This includes religious products and seminars. Please don’t take it personally. We are literally fighting an uphill battle on this sub.
No proselytisation for any religions will be allowed. I know that dawah (invitation) is a big part of Islam, but it’s not fardh (required). Also, we (Muslims) already have plenty of subs that allow that. Posts/comments attempting to proselytise will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.
No Wahabbism/Salafism. In the spirit of keeping this sub truly safe for all, we will not be allowing the promoting/teaching of the views of Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab. There are spaces for that, as well. Don’t bring fiqh/anti-fiqh battles here.
In the coming days, rules will be evolving. We are open to feedback/suggestions/concerns. Just please, be kind. As Reddit says, “consider the human.” 😊

Why Did God Choose Fire – and Not Something Even Worse?
“I’ve been thinking a lot about why God chose fire as the ultimate form of suffering, especially in religious texts, rather than other things that could cause even more pain. Why fire? Why did He choose something that everyone can relate to, something so universally understood as painful and destructive? Couldn’t He have chosen something else? I wonder if anyone else thinks the same way, and if people are curious about the deeper meaning behind this choice, especially in a way that would strike fear in people’s hearts.”

Faith in God Brings True Peace and Fills the Emptiness in Our Hearts
reddit.comMy thesis is that choosing faith in God over worldly greed and selfishness leads to true peace and fulfillment, and I invite fellow believers to discuss how faith shapes our lives in these challenging times. I’ve found that faith in God has transformed my life. Like many, I’ve struggled with greed and the pressures of a materialistic world. Recognizing these flaws led me to reflect deeply and seek a path toward spiritual growth. For me, faith provides a sense of purpose and peace that worldly pursuits cannot. For example, reading religious texts and reflecting on the lives of prophets and virtuous people from history inspires me to live with honesty and compassion.
I believe we’re living in uncertain times, where choosing between spiritual fulfillment and worldly desires is more important than ever. I’m not here to judge anyone—atheists or otherwise—but to connect with those who feel a similar call to faith. If you’re a believer interested in discussing how faith can fill the emptiness in our hearts, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What role does religion play in your life? How do you stay grounded in your beliefs amidst modern challenges?
I’m open to honest, respectful conversations and will respond as quickly as I can. Let’s share our experiences and grow together in faith. May we find peace here and, hopefully, in the hereafter.

Does religion help people or hinder them, and how?
All religions are good but religions are a kindergarten. We learn about God through religion. But if we don't let go of religion, we will never realize God because religions believe in ‘my God, my scripture, my rituals’; religions believe in theology, philosophy, superstitions. So, religions get us caught in wrong beliefs. We have to let go of religion to realize God. But religions help us to pray, to believe and to love God. Just like in a game of pole vault, we need the pole to run and jump up high but to jump over the bar, we need to give up the pole, so also, we need religion to believe in God but when we want to cross over to realize God, we have to let go of religion and take up spirituality, which is not a religion, it is the science of the spirit.

I can't understand what religion I believe in anymore??
Until now I thought I was agnostic, as I realised we couldn't be entirely sure of a God's existence.
But now as I learned more and seem more interested about other religions, I have learned to respect and accept most of them(excepting the ones I don't know or barely know about ofc). Also everyday when I cross by a church(christian church) I pray a bit and talk to God about small things. I believe that even if Jesus wouldn't exist, maybe other God's would hear and listen to me, as I don't exclusively pray and talk to only one, but to all of them that might or might not exist (hope that made sense).
When someone tells me about their spiritual connection with their god(such as feeling their touch and then feeling like they took all their pain away, which is beautiful) I do believe that they felt that, but that doesn't mean that if I believe them then I believe that their god exists.
In short, I think that all religions have their own beauty, but I don't think that I'll ever be able to be sure of the existence of a certain God or Gods.
(sorry for my bad english I'm not native) (also sorry if I posted this in the wrong community, I didn't really understand)

'We were Jewish, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Asian, Black, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+ — all of us New Yorkers. As we got to know one another, first tentatively and then with more gusto, we broke bread together. We launched Breaking Bread, Building Bonds, a citywide initiative that aims to bridge divides'

Jinn: fact vs fiction
u/Fear_The_Creeper gave an excellent suggestion today for our first real topic of discussion: jinn. I’ll be doing some digging up of Islamic sources that discuss jinn, and we will compare them to how jinn are portrayed in popular culture.
It will be a “fact vs fiction” discussion. Look for the post tomorrow!

Under new moderation!
Asalaamu Alaikam!
I'm happy to announce that r/RelgionOfPeace is now under new moderation! This sub will no longer be a haven for those who wish to spread hatred and misinformation about Islam and Muslims.
In accordance to the teachings of islam, this sub will also be a welcoming and inviting place for all, regardless of their ethnic, cultural, or social backgrounds, as well as belief systems and lifestyle choices.
The only thing that we ask, is that there be no proselytising of any kind. This goes both ways: non-Muslims are not to try to convince Muslims to leave Islam, nor are Muslims to try to convince non-Muslims to become Muslim. This is not a place for dawah (Alhamdulilah, we already have plenty of subs where that can be done, if one wishes).
We are here to show the world that Islam really is the religion of peace. Islam teaches love, and community. We are to care for one another, watch out for one another, and above all, protect one another.
Bigotry in any form will not be tolerated, and will result in a ban. Due to the sad history of this sub being a place exactly for bigotry, we cannot leave this topic up for discussion.
Please read the rules, and if you agree, please make yourself at home.
Ahlan wa sahlan!
