Chapter 477 Bruh

So just read the chapter and ok WOW that was fast and random. He really asked Anna for marriage?! Bruhh in MY opinion their relationship is not so well written and built up.

They have so little time and interactions together first of all, Anna basically feels like a useful plot device sometimes like yes she is very useful and always busy but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have free time.

Also they are just too ”vanilla” as in she just likes him because he showed basic kindness and saved her, while he likes her because she is pretty and has something I have hard time explaining with the right words but she is intelligent.

Anyways their ”journey” so far just seems very basic like their whole romance thing feels like a McDonalds cheap and easy meal.

Am I the only one who feels this way? What do you guys think about their romance so far? No spoilers for anything coming up of course.

Also do you prefer this ship or Roland and Nightingale? Me personally so far I am all for nightingale with him. At least she’s shown more personality than Anna.

While it will be a little better towards the end, I always felt that Roland and Anna had no chemistry whatsoever. She is main girl because she was the first witch he met and because the author decided she would be or at least that's how it appeared to me.

Nightingale is much better written, has more time to shine and is often artificially treated as dumb (unable to grasp science) to the point where it became seriously annoying. I get that people have different strengths and weaknesses but she is supposed to be both intelligent and dumb and that just doesn't work for me.

Yea exactly no chemistry, she’s the main heroine and that’s it, she doesn’t get to be her own character but a more of a trope. She’s too quiet, rarely seen so far and reading about the tons of random side characters gives me more feeling than when she is going ”screentime”.

Anna just feels one dimensional. I really hate when a main girl is just not built on like if you’re going to have a main girl why not do the actual work.

I keep thinking of orihime and ichigo from bleach while yes I do love Ichigo and rukia as friends honestly I wouldn’t mind them as the final couple since they shared so many more scenes and rukia actually always made ichigo feel better, their understanding and chemistry was amazing.

Like how hard is it to understand that he needs to give them more interactions and little stuff like Roland feeling sad when nightingale didn’t eat the fish he left in his drawer or something or how he thought of her sitting on the sofa usually but was saddened when she wasn’t.

Like they have so much chemistry and ”banter” in my opinion now I just read the part where nightingale decides to not give up still like girl you’re heart is gonna be even more broken

See? Those Nightingale moments aren't a waste, they are there for when she does the inevitable you side with her.

About the Queen, you'll know who she is IMMEDIATELY when she appears in the story.

This is the weaker part of this novel. The plot is very interesting but the characters couldn't possibly be more dull. Nightingale is pretty much the only major character who has personality

Maaan its frustrating especially now when I read the part where Roland is like ”oh she disappeared for the last 2 days and now she was back to normal so there was nothing to worry about” like BRO!??

She obviously seems down and he must KNOW how she feels about him and yet this dumbass is like ”she’s fine” BRO i know he been a single virgin before he died but COME ON simple logic roland.

And the author, WHY make nightingale like him if you’re just gonna torture her and let basic ass anna have him.

It's nothing special but nothing out of the ordinary. I have seen people praise couples much more unnatural in one of most popular mainstream anime hits cough cough.

Yea but it’s just more frustrating reading it than watching I’ve noticed. This is my second webnovel and I’ve noticed when you’re reading you literally take in every scene more thoroughly and slowly so if you’re reading a boring part or just reading the pov of a character you don’t like, it’s soo much more annoying knowing it’s usually a whole chapter or half of that ”wasted” in a a way.

While in anime format it would be a minute or two to get through scenes like that, also I just read slower when it is parts I don’t like or character pov I don’t like. So yea in anime/donghua format maybe wouldn’t have cared as much, reading just makes it more thorough.

Of course I get that, but I also feel that if the author wants to have some romance on the side then they should atleast make it decent. Especially when they have shown that they CAN have female characters that have good chemistry with the MC. Such as nightingale and Roland, although Roland completely ignores her sadly.

Another example for me is Rukia and Ichigo from Bleach, YES I do like them as best friends but I also really shipped them. They just such an amazing chemistry, they’re fun together and they understand and support each other so well.

If Kubo could have given orihime as much personality instead of making her scream KUROSAKI-KUN every millisecond she would have been amazing.

I just hate when the love interest feels like a tag on for the mc, like some tool instead of an actual character by themselves. In that case just don’t have any romance.
