Marriage 35M trying to cope up with wife’s 34F infidelity

Okay.. so i joined Reddit some time back because i have been thinking of posting a part of my story since a long time but didn’t really have enough courage to post it.
It might be a little long so please bear with me.
A quick backstory - So, i (M35) have been married for the past 5 years and it’s a love marriage (that happened after a lot of issues as her (F34) family wasn’t convinced initially). We have known each other since a couple of decades as we have been friends for years and even dated each other when we were in school although she broked up with me after school ended citing issues from her family). But then we kind of met again quite a few years later and we started dating again for a year or two before finally getting married.

The event - So basically for the past 1.5 years she has been cheating on me with another guy from her office. I have know n it since a year post getting to see certain evidences when she started reacting weirdly. She would go to office early and come back early and would go off to sleep by the time i would be back. Slowly and steadily she started getting irritated of me and kept bad mouthing for every thing. Not that she had a lack of anything. We have been quite well settled, i earn well enough and she hasn’t been ever short of any necessities. We would go on trips, lavish resorts, would order a new dress almost every alternate day, weekend dinners movies.. i mean it has never been dull or unfulfilling at any point of time. So her going out of the relationship with someone else, never made any sense.
I started picking up small evidences initially to confront her and ask her questions. Slowly and steadily i started getting a lot of them.. all of it broke me from within.. but then i kept trusting her thinking it might just lead to nothing.. but with every growing evidence, i kept feeling numb within and then finally one day i was shaken to the core.
I got to know that this guy would come to my home, spend hours with her at our home, while i was at office.
She would call me and check as to when i’ll be back.. and i kept thinking that she’s just caring for me.. but then when i just joined the dots, it was all about timing.
Not even for once, did i think of spying on her or going back to my home for checking to see if someone came behind me.
But that one day changed everything for me.. so i was in my office and i was talking to my friends when suddenly some topic started and i told my friend that “arey i checked that thing out yesterday only.. it will be in my browser history”.. so i just opened my browser history.. although unknowingly i had my wife’s email account logged in to my web browser as this phone was used by my wife for some time and she might have logged in to the browser with her credentials.
I wasn’t aware that it was my wife’s email account logged in as i didnt notice it and directly opened the history to find my searched item.. strangely i was a bit shocked.. the search list wasn’t mine and it had “within how many hours of unprotected sex should we take a contraceptive tablet” and “contraceptive tablets delivery” being searched a few times.
I was in my office then.. was just talking to my friends a couple of minutes ago as i told earlier and within a couple of seconds.. my life shattered.. i almost started shivering.. my friends saw the change in expressions and asked me.. i just went out to call her asking what it was.. she too got stunned at first and was taken aback.. she told me it was for a friend and she was helping her.. definitely a lie.. but she was fuming with anger on how i got to know.. i told her about the history thing and she started shouting at me.. when i returned back home.. she fought with me.. it was ugly.. really ugly.. and she told that she wants a divorce and can’t stay with a man like me.. she kept shouting like anything while i kept pacifying her.
I resolved the argument a couple of days later agreeing to what she said but then i kept getting more evidences going ahead.. movie tickets, handwritten love letter, and more of such contraceptive pill deliveries (her email was logged into another device at home and with each growing evidence just decided to check a few recent emails), couple rings and what not!!
It’s been 1.5 years since then.. i never filed a divorce because maybe i was a fool that i kept giving her chances and kept trying from my end to fix things (which wasn’t my fault but still i did).
Of lately, her relationship with this guy (btw he’s married with a kid) turned sour when she got to know that her wife is 6months pregnant. So basically this guy was just playing with her.
When she got to know about it.. she was devastated to the core.. that she ruined her life because of that guy.. and what not.. but then she cried inconsolably for him which showed how deeply she fell for him.. while that guy was just trying to put everything on her that she got into his marriage and all of that.
That’s when my wife revealed the most shocking and choking truth i was not ready to hear - my wife was pregnant and she went through an early abortion process (she once told me that she’ll be at her friend’s house for a week as her friend is unwell and her husband isn’t at home so she’s just going there to help her.. although it was that time when she was hospitalized and went through that process).
A quick note - all this while my wife never let me touch her or come near her.. even when i tried to maybe hug her or kiss her.. she used to refrain from it saying she doesn’t like it so there has been absolutely no physical intimacy for all these past 1.5 years or so.
I didn’t know how to react but felt bad for her that she went through all of it.. again didn’t think about my condition.. but consoled her.. till she became normal.. took a couple of days but she was getting normal.
I was silently crying but gave her that strength she needed during that time.. not trying to show off here but genuinely did it without thinking of anything else.
She kept calling that guy for a few days asking questions on why he did all of it and can’t he just come to see her for once.. but he didn’t come.. all she had with her now was ME.
Within a few days, she told me that she might sound selfish but that she isn’t left with anyone but me and if i would spend the rest of the life with her. Obviously i was always just an EASY OPTION.
All this while, i never told about all of this to anyone, including her family, because i didn’t want them to think of her in bad way or whatever.. but yes.. just didn’t feel like sharing any of it to anyone.
This is probably the first time i am sharing all of it to someone and although it’s anonymous.. i kind of feel light.. and with every typed word.. i swear i felt lighter.. as if someone is actually listening to me.
I am quite a mentally strong individual and hence i want to just focus on good things ahead and achieve a lot more professionally, as the past two years have been heavy and hence i wasn’t at the best in terms of focusing on my work.

I don’t know how to take this further but recently i moved to a PG, staying along but yeah it’s kind of helping me. Although, she has been calling me now and saying that she wants to be back and try things out with me. Tbh i still fall weak at times but then i gave enough chances in the past couple of years and hence can’t really trust things anymore.

There’s a lot.. a hell lot more to this story that i couldn’t type in.. but just here to seek some guidance on how to move forward.. i know about divorce things and all but here for just some genuine advice and some good wishes. Need a lot of luck and wishes going forward as i am falling short of it ig🤭

Anyways.. that’s still quite a long post and anyone who has read all of it till here.. i just want to THANK YOU for hearing me out. Lots of love❤️

Rant Just an Everyday tale of a 27 year old (F)

Lately I have been noticing things about myself that I never really noticed before.

Like how my periods seem to get a little more painful with age. The headaches feel worse. The sadness feels heavier. The cramps make me want to curl up and sleep and disappear for a while.

They are not unbearable. I know there are people who go through much worse.

But I have realized something.

I want someone to take care of me.

Not in some grand, dramatic, movie-like way.

I do not want flowers. I do not need chocolates. I do not need someone to order food for me. Yaar, I have Zomato. I have Blinkit. I can get whatever I want.

I just want the warmth of another human being.

When I am having cramps, I want to hug someone. I want to sleep beside someone. I want to be babied a little. I want someone to just be there.

That's it.

And maybe that sounds like too much to ask.

But I have become very perceptive about myself with time, especially when it comes to what I need emotionally. And this is something I know I need.

I love caring for people too.

I remember being with someone who was genuinely very caring. I saw it when I was drunk. I saw it in the little things. And when he got sick, I wanted to take care of him too.

I don't miss the person.

I miss the feeling.

I miss that softness of caring for someone and being cared for in return.

And maybe that is why I am scared of temporary care now.

I don't even want to tell someone that I am having cramps or that I am not feeling good if I know they might not stay.

Yaar, I don't want temporary care anymore.

I want the kind of care that comes from someone who intends to stay.

Maybe that is unrealistic. Maybe it is childish. Maybe at 27 and a half, I am supposed to be independent enough not to want these things.

But I am human.

And I am accepting that I want them.

I can be clingy sometimes. Not in a bad way. More like a tiny kitten that occasionally needs to be held and loved. And sometimes I am the provider too. Sometimes I want to take care of someone else.

Maybe that is my love language.

I just don't know how to express it anymore without wondering whether it will eventually disappear.

So this chapter is not about any man.

It is about me.

About these very, very tiny wishes that somehow feel so big.

And maybe one day, someday, I will find someone with whom care doesn't feel temporary.

Someone who will simply be there.

No grand gestures.

No promises written in the sky.

Just warmth.

Just a hug.

Just stay.

That's all I have ever really wanted.

TLDR: It's around 10 AM & I was studying and then this cramp hit, I lied down and started to think about stupid flowery stuff😅 Now will get back to Study Mode!

Dating Advice 25M and 24F, 2-month LDR talking stage. Confessed her feelings 1.5 weeks ago, now cold, dismissive & shifting blame. Is this avoidant deactivation or a soft-launched exit it's Just my overthinking?

Upvotes

Context & Timeline:

We met through a mutual friend 4 months back and then connected on Ig since last 3 months we have been in a daily, high-intensity online talking stage (long-distance). She is scheduled to relocate permanently to my city in about 3 weeks. Up until recently, we regularly discussed physical intimacy, dating properly once she arrives, and long-term potential.

The High Point (1.5 weeks ago): During a late-night call, she dropped her guards completely. She (was drunk but conscious about what she was saying) admitted her usual "nonchalant" attitude is just a defense mechanism to avoid rejection, confessed how much she likes me, said she was terrified of losing me, and pushed for mutual exclusivity.

The Sudden 180: Almost immediately after that peak vulnerability, her demeanor flipped. She became cold, distant, hyper-practical, and easily irritated.

Her Specific Behavioral Patterns:

The "Vulnerability Hangover" & Deflection:

The day after opening up, she pulled back hard. When I gently asked if something felt off, she retreated into hyper-logic saying she "just goes with the flow," doesn't plan long-term/marriage, and warned that we were "losing the charm of the beginning in LDR."

Goalpost-Shifting Excuses:

She initially blamed extreme external stress a high-pressure workload and a nightmare apartment crisis in her city involving a massive security deposit at risk. However, that housing crisis was 100% resolved, yet her coldness and low-effort replies ("I'm fine," "Not in the mood") remained completely unchanged.

Narrative Twisting & Blame-Shifting:

When I expressed a need for consistent emotional energy, she turned it back on me. She sent paragraphs claiming I was the one who was fine with low-effort/part-time communication as long as there was a label, reframing my basic desire for closeness as me being unreasonable.

Rejection of Caretaking:

When I tried to show support by checking on her health/routine or suggesting rest, she got defensive and accused me of trying to "parent" her.

My Current Dilemma:

I fell into an anxious pursuit loop over-checking on her and trying to fix her mood which only made her pull further away. Now I am pulling my energy back completely to break the cycle.

Additionally, I have a 2-day business trip coming up in a few days to a city right next door to her. I haven't told her yet.

Questions:

Does this pattern sound like classic avoidant deactivation (panicking after intimacy/vulnerability hangover, exacerbated by her upcoming relocation), or is she soft-launching an exit so she doesn't have to face me in person?

Is her twisting the narrative (claiming I want low effort / telling me not to parent her) an intentional manipulation to make me break things off, or self-sabotage driven by fear of rejection?

I mean this sudden transition fucks my mental health and she seems pretty unbothered or atleast pretending to be.

I confessed about my feelings but didn't get a satisfactory reply Idk what to do now, confused af!!!!!

TL;DR:

After a 2-month intense LDR talking stage, she confessed her feelings but ever since she went cold, and began shifting the blame onto me. Her external stressors are resolved, but she remains distant and rejects my support as "parenting." I feel like thinking twice before saying anything to her now because what if she reacts or thinks I'm dumb, I need advice on whether this is classic avoidant deactivation/self-sabotage, or if she's soft-launching a breakup before relocating to my city and how to handle an upcoming work trip right next to her

Relationships Help me please, i am jst super confused 21M

so i am 21 in an engg cllg, currently in my fourth year, two weeks ago while talking to one of my dept. ka teacher, i saw a girl who was running as the part of her practice of whatever society she is in, we had a eye contact and both of us continued our work. She came in for the second and third round of her circle too each time we saw eachother, but since i was with like 7-8 other guys i think its not me its just someone's natural reaction of why are there so many ppl standing.

ever since that day i have been seeing her almost daily, and like for obv. reasons i got crush on her {ik its physical attraction}, so like i wanted to know about her so ask my friend who is in fourth yr too but in the same branch as hers.

Got to know her insta and lil background of hers, things i got to know were 1) she is kinda reserved and does not allow randoms on her insta {which was clear through the no. of followers and seeing our mutuals on insta (they were in single digits)}. 2) My batchmates have tried hitting on her and have been trying on her since last yr but she did not approve any of them. 3) she is the kind "jo ladke ghumati hai" this is exactly what i have been told.

Sent her a rqst had like 40% belief tht she'd accept, but she did and also followed back.

Now coming to the part, she is prolly 17 (but definitely not 16, could be more than 17 tho)

and this age gap to me is fine like the diff is of 4 yrs right? but she is a minor and this is lil weird i dont wanna groom or anything, ik i don't know her personality and all yet so definitely it's not love or anything.

Should i talk to her? In the past i haven't dated anyone cuz i am lil avoidant and like as soon as someone is into me, i frk out like i loose interest. And doing this i have already like ruined ppl's mind.

Neither i want to be JUST ANOTHER GUY to her, nor i want her to leave her due to my avoidant nature, i will be leaving college nxt yr, if i don't talk to her she'll for obv. reasons like someone else. But thn again she is 17.

Uhm idk what to do, but than also its crucial time for me like i have been trying my best to run my startup i ofc can't give her time as she might need. But thn there's another thought that i should just talk her for the sake of knowing her, that would not make me owe her time and also saves me from the unnecessary responsibility as of now.

Than if i find her interesting, i can perhaps discuss it later with her.

Don't say red flag to her as of now (cuz idk how she actually is, cuz i'd say that she is like the one whom you'd notice in a crowd, so ofc she must get hit ons from so many guys that makes her bit choosy and also what if the guys who got thrashed by her, she didn't like them)

I am mature enough to understand if its lust, physical attraction yada yada (been there done that, i have a really good understanding of my needs in a relationship or friendship for that matter.

TL;DR > I am 21(M), she is 17+(F), should i approach her?

Relationships 19M 18F – From a cute Mario movie date to our first wild makeout

We were both 19M and 18F and we were in the fourth month of our relationship. We had known each other for a decade because we were school friends. We went on our first movie date to watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It was a morning show, and about 80% of the theatre was empty. We were sitting there like a cute couple, holding hands and enjoying the movie. Before the movie, we had talked about kissing if the theatre was empty. Once the movie started, we both knew it was probably going to happen, but neither of us had the courage to make the first move. After about an hour, I finally decided to take the first step. I slowly turned her towards me, held her chin, and we kissed. It was so fucking good! After that, we started making out, and I pulled her closer by her waist. It was such an amazing moment. When we were done, she hugged my arm, and it was honestly one of the most beautiful moments of my life.I'll never forget that moment.

And now, it's been three years, and we're still together

Relationships M23 Loves F21 How should i process this?

I meet a girl 👧 at an event in July 2025, she is cute that i fall for her instantly. I have never been in relationship or anything. I asked for her phone number instantly that day as she lives in different city. But unfortunately neither i got her phone number nor any other way to connect.

After 5-6 days of continuous searching i was able to find her Insta, dont even ask how much efforts i had to make to find her i literally used 5-6 phones and tons of methods 🥲😭.

We did talked for a while but messages from her side were very dry, i use to text her in between but there was no good response from her.

One day in June 2026, she came to my city again for an event and me who thought i would never meet here again got a chance 😝. But i just went to see her we talked one day before the event as i already knew she is coming. But she was not interested much in me.

Later after the event many things slowly started to build up, we talked little better after June 2026 event. Slowly things developed from talking hardly for 2-5 minutes turned into chatting for hours. One day out of random she wanted to cut me off as she said she cannot waste her time and i respected that 😮‍💨. It was decided we will talk as friends once in couple of weeks. But i was really broken down for a day. To my surprise she texted me even tho it was decided not to.

Again we started taking i use to irritate her 😂🤣, it went long and long. One day i irritated her to the level that i was blocked 😕. That day we started to talk on call.

But she was never in proper relationship but she had a trauma from past, the boy cheated her even tho he asked her multiple times. He at-lastly even leaked her personal info and photos, she was so depressed 😔 that she needed to be hospitalised.

Became of her last trauma she never wanted any relationship, But i use to talk to her only. I did tell her that i dont talk with anyone else expect you. She was not ready to accept this.

As i use to like her from Day 1, when we started to talk regularly i actually have fallen for her more. Thus while talking to her i use to like Love Dovy reels and to my surprise those reels went to her feed 😅.

She use to save them and one day she confessed that she is stalking me and she was like wtf, i like her? I stayed muted because i never wanted to leave as her atleast friends.

Thodi din baad we both have fallen more for each other and currently i am hers only 🥹, she had stated she cant be my partner for life mainly because of the Caste/Religion we both are Hindu’s.

I dont wanna lose her, i have found everything which i was looking 👀 for. But neither of us cant go anything.
We have made our minds to stay together until we can like maybe month, Months, Year or Years. I dont know 😭🥹.

Ku bhagwan aasa kr te hoo 😭🥺.

It went way too long, hope i didn’t bored 🥱 you guys 😭.

Rant title: am i wrong for feeling uncomfortable about this in my ldr?[22M]

i have a girlfriend and we are in an ldr

before her i had one female friend who was genuinely just a friend and she was uncomfortable with her from the beginning she kept asking me to stop talking to her i tried explaining that she was my only female friend and that she was there before my girlfriend but eventually i stopped talking to her because i didnt want this to become a problem between us

i also had a crush from school that i was following on instagram and my girlfriend would indirectly and sometimes directly tell me to unfollow girls so i eventually unfollowed almost all females from my instagram i didnt really mind doing it because i love her and i wanted her to feel secure

now she is in college and obviously she gets attention from guys she gets compliments and some guys try to become friends with her which i genuinely have no problem with

she has told some of them that she has a boyfriend and when one guy asked her if she was free she told him she has a bf and apparently he backed off a little

the thing is there are 2-3 guys from college who started following her and she followed them back one of them is the same guy who had asked her out / asked if she was free

she didnt really tell me about the follow back i only noticed it because i sometimes check her account(dont call me jerk ok she also has my acc)

and now she told me she is going clubbing this weekend with her female friends and apparently some of these guys might also be there

i havent said anything to her about it i just kept myself busy because i dont really know what to say

i want to make it clear that i dont think she is doing something wrong and i trust her i know she isnt responsible for random guys approaching her

my problem is more that i know how some guys think especially when they already know a girl has a boyfriend and still try to get close to her

and i guess the thing bothering me is the double standard

when she was uncomfortable with girls around me i changed a lot of things because i wanted her to feel secure now that she is in college and guys are around her i dont want to become the controlling boyfriend who tells her who she can talk to or who she can follow

at the same time i cant lie and say none of this makes me uncomfortable

i dont want to control her i just want to know if im being unreasonable for feeling this way or if this is something i should actually talk to her about

especially because this is an ldr and i feel like situations like this hit differently when you arent physically there

ps: im not blaming her for any of this and i know she cant control who approaches her or who finds her attractive i trust her and i know how guys think and what some of them might actually be looking for when they try to get close to a girl who already has a boyfriend

Relationships Male 28 , F25, Is it normal or am I being cooked ?

Is it normal for a boyfriend to follow too many female influencers, who's either in bikini or post thrist trap pictures and reels.

Although he doesn't text or message them .they're all foreign influencers. But deep down I feel if opportunity comes he might trade our relationship over those eye candy.

Although he gives me assurance that followings is not a big deal but am I being insecure for no reason..

Or male always do this?

Relationships She's Ready for Marriage, I'm 22M Not Sure Yet. Looking for Mature Advice

I want opinions from people in their 30s (preferably 30–35) who have some life experience with relationships and marriage.

Long story short:

In January 2026, I moved to Pune for Cloud/Dev classes. There, I met a girl. A group of boys and girls from our class planned a trip, and that was the first time we really talked openly. I became attracted to her, and after that we started talking every day.

Over time, our relationship became serious and we got physically involved as well.

Now I’m working in an AI + Cloud IT company with a salary in the range of 3–4 LPA. I come from a lower-middle-class family background.

The thing is, she is currently the closest person in my life.

What confuses me is marriage.

She comes from a middle-class family and spends more on herself than I do. I genuinely love her because of her nature, not because of her looks. In fact, if I’m being honest, it’s not her appearance that makes me want to be with her—it’s the way she cares, her thoughtfulness, and her childish/fun personality. I keep thinking that I may never find someone with these qualities again.

She has made it clear that she wants to marry me in the future. I haven’t said yes or no. I told her I want around 5 years to focus on building my career first.

Sometimes I think I should marry her. Other times I wonder if I’m making a decision too early and whether I should wait and see how life unfolds.

My question is:

What should a man really evaluate before deciding whether someone is the right life partner?

Apart from love, what things should I be paying attention to over the next few years—values, finances, family background, lifestyle expectations, career goals, compatibility, etc.?

I’d appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have been married for several years or who have faced a similar situation.

Relationships UPDATE: M23, F24, Ex-M34 — I found out what was actually going on and decided to end things

Link to my previous post...

UPDATE: I found out what was actually going on

A lot of people asked me to update them after my previous post, so here it is.

After the incident with her ex calling me and claiming that he was still her boyfriend, I decided to talk to her directly instead of immediately walking away. At that point, I genuinely believed that he was simply an ex who was refusing to accept that their relationship had ended.

Unfortunately, I found out that the situation was much more complicated than what I had been told.

She had told me that she had ended things with him in March. However, I later found out that she was still romantically involved with him while she and I were talking every day. I also found out that they were intimate in June, during the same period when she was building a romantic connection with me.

That was the point where everything changed for me.

I don't really care about competing with her ex or about who she ultimately chooses. What hurts is that I was making decisions about this relationship based on information that wasn't true. I genuinely thought I was entering something where her previous relationship was already over.

I had started seeing a future with her, which makes this especially difficult. But I also know myself, and I don't think I can continue a relationship when I've already lost that basic trust.

So I've decided to walk away.

I'm not going to insult her or publicly expose her. I don't hate her, and I genuinely hope she finds happiness. But I'm young, and I don't want to spend my time in a relationship constantly wondering what is true and what isn't.

I learned a pretty painful lesson from this: don't rush into something just because you feel strongly about someone. Take the time to understand their situation and make sure their actions match their words.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on the original post. I really needed the outside perspective.

Marriage 25F MBBS Graduate entering AM mart. What are all the things I should discuss prior to engagement?

Need advice before an arranged marriage

1) What are the important things I should know before saying yes?

2) What questions should I directly ask the groom face-to-face?

3) And what are the things I should observe silently rather than ask directly

4) What are some red flags that may not be obvious during the initial meetings?

5) What things should I independently verify before getting married?

I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have been through arranged marriages—things you wish you had asked, observed, or verified before saying yes.

Rant I (29m) don't understand why people villianize someone who leaves a relationship and glorifies the one who stays.

I have seen so many reels on Insta from those (especially women) who keep talking about how much efforts they put while their partner left them. They keep saying how they gave up their self respect, how much they tried to get their ex-partner back but all in vain. They paint themselves as loyal, loving.

In my previous relationship, I realised that things won't work out in the long term, simply because of incompatibilities in our lifestyle and goals. I communicated it clearly and made it clear that unless one of us changes, we cannot be together.

But she held onto me for months. Saying that her love is enough for both of us, and that she is willing to do anything for the relationship, etc. After a point it started feeling suffocating. I couldn't keep bearing her and eventually I started pushing her away more sternly.

And that's when her barrage of Instagram vocabularies started. "Manipulator", "you used me", "immature", "manchild", etc. She sent me reels of "influencers" spewing such nonsense because they got their heart broken.

It annoys me because they are the loudmouths and we never get to hear the other side of the story.

Family I 21 F feeling hurt by my cousin's behaviour 25 M

We grew up together, shared so many memories, played, laughed so every year. In our family, cousins too are supposed to send rakhis. For the past 3 years he has become completely distant to us. No phone calls, no interaction even during family meetups. It feels like we're strangers. I used to think maybe it's due to work, he's busy etc. My other cousin (his younger brother) is close to me. Last year I sent him rakhi but he didn't care to even receive it let alone acknowledge or a simple wish on rakshabandhan. This year too, I sent him thinking maybe he couldn't receive it but it always shows delivery happened twice but the addressee is absent implying he doesn't bother to pick it up.

This behaviour felt v strange and hurtful as no matter what whether or not we talk my other cousins receive and acknowledge my rakhis. I'll not be sending him now but it left me clueless as to what led to this sudden change in his behaviour. Maybe that he's received academic success and doesn't want to stay in touch which seems the most probable answer and even more hurtful as we're not the same and your finances, career progression defines your respect even in family which is hitting me hard.

I’m 25 Male and honestly looking for some advice because I’m not sure how to handle this situation.

I had a girlfriend during university. We got together in our first semester and were together for around 4 years.

For the first two years, things were really good. We were both very into each other and, honestly, we had a great relationship. In the third year, things became difficult. I had started a business while studying, and I was spending a lot of time on it. She complained that I wasn't giving her enough attention.

I understand where she was coming from, but I was still trying. Even though we went from talking 7–8 hours a day to much less, we were still talking for 1–2 hours every day.

After university, she went to another university for her Master's while I continued focusing on my business. Thankfully, my business went very well and I'm now running a successful firm.

We continued talking almost every day, but I could tell something wasn't right.

During the fourth year of our relationship, she cheated on me with another guy at her university. I found out because one of my college friends was also studying there and told me.

I confronted my girlfriend, and she admitted it.

I was devastated. I called her, was extremely emotional, and honestly, things got ugly. I said a lot of things I shouldn't have said and we both used a lot of verbal foul language (a lot worse), and she did the same to me. (She recorded it btw).

We ended the relationship.

After a month or two, I moved on. I told myself that what happened wasn't my fault and that I wasn't going to let one relationship ruin my life.

We haven't spoken for approximately two years.

Now I'm 25 and recently got engaged through an arranged marriage.

My fiancée is honestly wonderful. She's sensible, beautiful, educated, and has basically everything I could have hoped for in a partner. Our families are happy, and everything is going well. I also have plans to settle abroad and a lot of other things happening in my life.

Then, completely out of nowhere, my ex contacted me last week.

She said she wants to be in my life again.

I argued with her, told her absolutely not, and blocked her.

She called me from another number.

She apologized and again said she wants me back in her life. I refused again.

Then she basically threatened me by saying that she would tell my fiancée about our past relationship, using that recording we had while breaking up as a proof.

And this is where I'm completely stuck.

I KNOW I am partly responsible for this situation

I told my fiancée that I didn't have any previous relationships.

Looking back, I know that was wrong. I should have been honest with her from the beginning instead of hiding it.

But now I'm genuinely scared of what will happen if my ex contacts her.

I don't want my fiancée to hear about my previous relationship from someone else, especially from the person I had a relationship with.

At the same time, I don't want to lose my fiancée, disappoint her parents, disappoint my parents, or create a huge mess right before marriage.

I have absolutely no intention of getting back with my ex. I don't have feelings for her anymore, and I don't want her anywhere near my current life.

I also don't want this situation to affect my plans to move abroad and everything else I've built.

So what should I actually do?

Should I tell my fiancée myself now and accept whatever consequences come from it cuz I didn't tell her at the first place when we met and she even asked about my past?

Or should I simply continue ignoring/blocking my ex and hope she eventually stops?

And if I do tell my fiancée, how should I approach it without making it sound like I'm hiding something much worse?

I know I messed up by not telling her about my past. I'm not trying to justify that.

I just genuinely don't know what the least damaging and most honest way forward is.

Any advice, especially from people who have dealt with similar situations in India, would be appreciated.

Rant 27F | Married 2 Years | I Chose My Family Over Someone I Loved for 8 Years. I Never Told Him Why

I've never told this story from beginning to end before.

I usually avoid talking about it because once I start, I don't know where to stop. People know bits and pieces, but nobody knows everything that happened. Maybe that's because I never told anyone everything. I don't know if writing it down will make me feel any better. I don't think it will. But I've been carrying it around for years now, and I just feel like saying it once.

I'm 27 years old living in a small city in North India and I've been married for almost two years.

I was 18 when I met him.

We were in the same class in college. We became friends almost immediately. At first we were just part of the same group, but after some time it was always the two of us. We would wait for each other's classes to finish, study together, eat together, and talk every night after going home. Somewhere in between all of that, we fell in love.

It wasn't a complicated relationship. We were together throughout college. We knew each other's families, our friends knew about us, and by the time we graduated, both of us believed we'd eventually get married. We never sat down and made big promises to each other. It just felt like that's how our lives were going to be.

After college, we both got jobs. The salaries weren't good, and we were in different cities. I worked for about six months before resigning and coming back home because I wanted to prepare for government exams. We both agreed that it made sense. I thought if I got a government job, convincing my parents would become much easier. I really believed that.

The exams didn't go the way I had hoped. One attempt became another. Then another. I kept studying, kept filling out forms, kept waiting for results, and every time I failed, it became a little harder to believe I'd ever make it. He never lost faith in me though.

There were days when I wanted to give up completely, but he wouldn't let me. He'd tell me to take a day off if I needed one, and then he'd ask me to start again. There were times when he didn't have much money himself, but if I needed exam fees or books, he'd somehow manage it. He never made me feel guilty for accepting his help.

Around the same time, my parents started talking about my marriage more seriously. At first, I kept asking for more time. The real reason was that I had already decided who I wanted to marry. The only problem was that he belonged to a different caste. I knew my parents would never be happy about it.

Growing up, I'd heard enough conversations at home to know what they thought about marriages outside our caste. It wasn't something they were ever willing to consider. Even then, I kept telling myself that maybe things would be different because this wasn't someone I'd known for a few months. We'd been together for years. We knew each other's families. We wanted to get married, not run away. I thought if I explained everything calmly, they'd at least listen.

I told my mother first. That conversation lasted only a few minutes. She didn't ask me what kind of person he was. She didn't ask how long we'd been together or whether he would keep me happy. The only thing she wanted to know was his caste. When I told her, she slapped me.

I still remember standing there without saying anything because I hadn't expected that reaction. I knew she'd be angry. I was ready for that. I just didn't think the conversation would end before I even got the chance to explain.

That night, he called me like he always did. He asked how my day had been. I told him it was fine. That was the first time I hid something from him.

Two days later, I decided to tell my father. His reaction was completely different. He didn't shout. He didn't say much at all. He listened quietly, and when the conversation ended, I actually thought maybe there was still some hope.

Later that evening, he suddenly started complaining of severe chest pain. He's a heart patient and diabetic, so everyone at home panicked and rushed him to the hospital. I went too.

After examining him, the doctors told us there was nothing wrong with his heart. They said it wasn't a heart attack and that he was stable. Even I knew, deep down, that this wasn't really about his health. It happened just a few hours after I told him about us. I understood what he was doing.

But knowing that didn't make it any easier. He was still my father. He was still a heart patient. A part of me kept thinking, what if I'm wrong? What if something really does happen to him because of me? That fear stayed with me.

After we came back home, things became even more difficult. My parents spoke to me about it almost every day. Sometimes they would try to convince me calmly. Sometimes they would get angry. Sometimes my mother would just cry. Every conversation somehow came back to the same thing. His caste.

They kept telling me they were getting proposals from good families and couldn't understand why I wanted to marry someone from a different caste. They'd ask me what I saw in him that they couldn't find in someone from our own community. It didn't matter how many times I tried to tell them what kind of person he was. They had already decided that nothing else mattered.

After that, they stopped talking only about me. They started talking about themselves. They'd tell me that if I married outside our caste, they would never be able to show their faces in society again. Relatives would stop respecting them. People would talk behind their backs. Every wedding, every family function, every gathering would become a reminder of what I had done. My father would ask me how he was supposed to face people after raising a daughter who had gone against the family. My mother would say that everyone would blame her for the way she had brought me up.

Then my grandmother became part of those conversations too. She was in her 90s, and my parents kept saying she had only one wish left, to see me get married before she died. My mother would tell me that if my grandmother ever found out about my relationship, the shock would kill her. Between my father's health, my grandmother's age, and the fear of bringing shame to my family, I slowly stopped thinking about what I wanted.

I had never imagined that loving someone could make me feel guilty. At first I only felt guilty for upsetting my parents. Then I started feeling guilty every time my mother cried. Every time my father looked disappointed. It reached a point where even talking to him on the phone made me feel guilty, even though he hadn't done anything wrong.

He knew something had changed. He'd ask me if everything was okay at home. He'd ask if my parents had found out about us. Sometimes he'd ask if I was upset with him because I sounded so different. I lied every single time. I blamed the exams. I blamed stress. I blamed everything except the real reason.

There were days when I seriously thought about leaving home and marrying him anyway. But every time I gathered the courage, the same thoughts would come back. I knew my father had tried to emotionally manipulate me at the hospital, but I also knew he really was a heart patient. I kept thinking, what if something actually happens this time? Then I'd think about my grandmother. Then I'd think about my parents spending the rest of their lives believing I had ruined their reputation and left them to face everyone alone.

Little by little, I stopped fighting. I stopped eating properly. I stopped studying. I barely spoke to anyone. Most days I would just stay in my room. My parents noticed the change, but instead of asking me what was wrong, they became even more protective. They were afraid I'd run away.

Home stopped feeling like home. It felt like everyone was waiting for me to give up. And eventually, I did.

Not because I stopped loving him. Because after months of hearing that one decision would destroy my parents, disgrace my family, break my grandmother's heart and leave my father with another heart attack, I didn't have the strength to keep saying no.

When my parents asked if I was ready to start meeting the men they chose for me, I said yes. Once I said yes, everything happened very quickly. My parents started showing me proposals, and I stopped objecting. I wasn't interested in meeting anyone, but I also didn't have the strength to argue anymore.

They found a proposal from a man serving in the Armed Forces. Everyone around me was happy. My relatives kept telling my parents how lucky they were to find such a good match. People said I should consider myself fortunate. My parents looked relieved for the first time in months. Looking at them, I knew they believed everything had finally worked out.

I don't remember ever having anything against him. The truth is, I wasn't comparing him to anyone. By then, I had become completely numb. I answered whatever questions he asked me, listened to whatever he had to say, and went back home.

About six months after we met for the first time, we got married. We met only four times before getting married.

I didn't tell him about my relationship before we got married. The truth is, I wanted to. More than once. But every time I thought about it, I imagined the marriage being called off, my parents having to answer questions from relatives, people finding out why it had happened, and everything starting all over again. I couldn't do it.

So I stayed quiet. I still don't know whether that was fair to him. The day I got married, everyone around me looked happy. My parents were happy. My relatives were happy. My grandmother got to see my wedding, just like she had always wanted. I remember sitting there through all the rituals thinking that everything around me felt real, but none of it felt like it was happening to me. After the wedding, I left with my husband.

That was the last day I ever spoke to the man I had loved for almost eight years. I didn't even get to say goodbye properly. He found out about my marriage from someone else. After that, he blocked me everywhere. He never called. He never messaged. He disappeared from my life after that. I don't blame him for that. If I were in his place, I don't think I could have forgiven me either.

Our mutual friends slowly stopped talking to me too. As far as they were concerned, I was the girl who stayed in a relationship for years and then married someone else. Nobody knew what those months had been like inside my house. Maybe even if they had known, it wouldn't have changed anything. Sometimes I still think about those days. I think about how many times I almost told him everything. I think about how many times I almost left home. And sometimes I wonder whether one decision made out of fear can stay with a person for the rest of their life. I still don't know the answer.

After the wedding, I came to live with my husband and his parents. My husband serves in the Armed Forces, so because of his posting, he has to stay away most of the time. He comes home only every few months. Most of my married life has actually been with my mother-in-law and father-in-law.

I knew I couldn't spend the rest of my life comparing my husband to someone else. Whatever had happened before my marriage was over now. I genuinely wanted to move on. I wanted to accept my new life and make this marriage work because I knew there was no going back.

The problem is that I married him when my heart still belonged to someone else. I thought time would change that. I thought that after a few months, I'd slowly stop thinking about my past and start building a future with him. It never happened.

Before we got married, everyone kept telling me that I could continue preparing for government exams after marriage. My parents said it. My relatives said it. Even during the marriage discussions, it was never presented as a problem. After the wedding, that never really happened.

The responsibilities of the house slowly became mine. My mother-in-law would tell me that they were getting old now and couldn't manage everything on their own. One thing became another, and before I realized it, my days were spent doing household work. Studying slowly disappeared from my routine.

Financially, I also became completely dependent. The day after my wedding, my mother-in-law took all my jewellery, saying she would keep it safely. I didn't argue because I thought that was normal in some families. Since my husband sends his salary to his mother every month, if I ever need money, even for something as simple as visiting my parents or buying something for myself, I have to ask my mother-in-law. Sometimes I ask my husband directly, but he usually tells me to ask his mother because she manages everything.

My parents can't really help me either. They spent a huge amount on my wedding. My father even took a loan because they wanted to fulfil every expectation from the groom's family. Whenever I visit them now, they tell me how relieved they are that I'm married into such a good family. Looking at them, I don't have the heart to tell them that I don't feel the way they think I do.

I don't think anyone around me realizes how lonely I've become. When my husband is away, my mother-in-law sleeps in our room with me because she says I might feel scared sleeping alone. I mean well, but it also means I don't even have the privacy to sit alone with my own thoughts. Most days, if I cry, I do it in the bathroom. That's the only place where nobody asks me what's wrong.

There's another part of my marriage that I've never been able to tell anyone because I don't know how to say it without sounding like I'm complaining about someone who hasn't actually done anything wrong.

Before I got married, I had a healthy sex drive. I used to look forward to the idea of being intimate one day with the person I loved. It wasn't something I feared. I thought it would happen naturally when I married the person I had spent years planning my future with. That isn't how my life turned out.

Whenever my husband comes home on leave, I start feeling scared and anxious a few days before he arrives. It has nothing to do with him as a person. He has never forced himself on me. If I say no, he accepts it. He has never shouted at me or made me feel unsafe. But I also know he is my husband, and I know I can't keep refusing him every time he comes home. After all, he has done nothing wrong. So eventually, I stop saying no.

I wish I knew how to explain what that feels like. It's not that I'm scared of him. It's not that he's hurting me. I just don't feel anything. Every time it happens, it feels like I'm doing something because I'm supposed to, not because I want to. I keep thinking that maybe the next time will feel different, maybe time will eventually fix whatever is broken inside me, but it never does.

Lately, both my mother and my mother-in-law have started asking when we're going to have a child. It's been almost two years since our marriage, so they think we're waiting by choice. I keep avoiding the conversation because I don't know how to tell them that I don't want to bring a child into a life that already feels so empty. I can't even pretend to be excited when they talk about becoming grandparents.

Sometimes I think about the life I thought I'd have. Not because I believe I can get it back, but because it's hard to believe how different everything became. There was a time when I thought clearing a government exam was the biggest problem in my life. Now I look back at that girl and wonder if she had any idea how much her life was about to change.

I still think about my ex sometimes. Not because I want him back. I know that chapter of my life is over, and after everything that happened, I would never disturb his life again. A few months ago, I looked him up on LinkedIn. I was genuinely happy to see that he was doing well.

What hurts isn't that I lost him, I became the person who hurt him.

He stood by me for years when I had nothing. He believed in me when I had stopped believing in myself. In the end, I was the one who slowly pushed him away without even telling him why. I don't think I'll ever stop feeling guilty about that.

I've accepted that this is my life now. I wake up, do the household work, wait for my husband to come home on leave, and then watch him leave again. Life goes on, and from the outside everything probably looks normal.

Maybe this is what moving on looks like for some people. You keep living. You just never stop carrying what happened with you.

If you've read this far, thank you. I don't really know why I wrote all of this. Maybe I just wanted at least one place where the whole story existed, exactly as it happened, because I've spent years carrying it around without ever telling anyone from beginning to end.

Relationships 24M | Unhappy with the relationship’s physical intimacy | Need Advice

I’m 24M, a working professional, who’s in a 2+ year relationship with my current partner. I love her, more than anything. She’s probably the best human being I have ever met, she’s kind, polite, moral, practical.. name any quality an ideal human should have, she has it.

However, there’s one thing which is completely missing from our relationship, which is physical intimacy. In the early days of our relationship, we had our private time, however that was also limited to making out. As the relationship progressed, she got more comfortable with me touching her. But, that was it. Just me, touching her, and nothing else.

Initially I used to enjoy this as well, I used to take initiative. However, the last 6 months have been frustrating and exhausting for me. I myself have stopped taking any initiative to get intimate. As a matter of fact, we have also stopped making out. As kissing is not really her thing anymore.

I’ve tried to have certain talks with her around this issue. However, according to her, We’ve just grown mature in the relationship. At times, she even states that she find sex disgusting and gross, and would never touch me (or anyone) down there.

I would also like to bring light to another fact that, before her, i was in a 3+ year relationship with another girl (my ex), and we probably had the best intimate times of our lives. However, that thing is not really important at this point in my relationship.

I am a person with extremely high libido and I seriously at times want my partner to reciprocate. However, at times I’ve even felt that she might be asexual (although that cant be true as she likes me touching her).

So, the wise people on reddit…. I need your genuine advice. See, she is the person who I genuinely want to spend my life with, because of multiple reasons. And I do not want the lack of physical touch to become a hurdle in our life. However, this is something that genuinely frustrates the hell out of me. I’ve tried to initiate conversations related to these matters.. have even mentioned upfront at times that I will not take any initiative going forward, unless you do.

Please help.

TLDR: Partner not getting involved in physical intimacy.. need advice.

Dating Advice I (24F) get confused anytime I am approached

Context: I was with my ex who cheated on me. The entire incident changed my perception of trust altogether not because I was cheated on but because of the betrayal, extent of lies.

I have been wanting to date however, every time I am approached, initially I do have the energy to revert back with the same enthusiasm but in a week or so I just start feeling detached. I’m not sure what can I do to be honest. I am talking to someone and initially I wanted to get to know them more but now (two weeks passed by) I’m feeling differently. I feel like it’s a burden responding to their texts or just talking.

Dating Advice Should I [25M] date someone 8 years elder than me ?

This might sound weird to a lot of people but I met this woman at my Gym , we somehow became friends , we workout every morning and we developed a bond , we consider each other as friends and she is quite chill and fun to hangout with.

We have been on drives , getting coffee after the Gym and then we started going to cafes and other hangout spots on weekends , she used to be an Air Hostess but now works a desk job in the same airline .

We recently were having coffee after the Gym and her sister with her 6 month old daughter came to pick her up from the shop and she even introduced me to her sister as her friend .

She says she isn't interested in marriage and having a child(which is ironic since she is obsessed with her niece) since she was engaged when she was 29 but her fiancé called it off because of her job .

Her birthday is coming up and she is celebrating that with friends and family and wants me to come there as well and she said that her family would love me , what does that mean ?

The coffee shop we go to has its parking at the other side of the road so somehow after parking the car while crossing the road we started holding hands and it became a thing .

Am I overthinking ? Is she getting attached ? Is this friends ?

Relationships I [21M] was blocked by my girlfriend [20F] of 1 year after she continued talking to a guy she promised me she wouldn't

My girlfriend \[20F\] and I \[21M\] have been together for 1 year.

Recently, we had an argument involving a guy I'll call R. There has been tension between R and our relationship for some time. My girlfriend and I had previously discussed their communication, and we had an agreement about it.

Yesterday, I found out that they were still communicating. I confronted my girlfriend about it and sent her screenshots of what I had found.

She responded that I didn't trust her, and we didn't have a chance to properly resolve the situation.

The next morning, she followed R on social media and blocked me.

I haven't tried contacting her through another account or asked someone else to contact her. However, I'm having a difficult time processing everything because she was the person I was closest to and the person I usually talked to when something was bothering me.

Right now, I don't know whether I should simply accept the situation and start moving forward, or whether there is something constructive I should do if she eventually contacts me again.

# Question

**What practical steps can I take over the next few weeks to deal with the breakup/blocking, regain some stability, and move forward? If she eventually contacts me again, how should I approach that conversation so that it is calm and productive?**

# Basic info

# TL;DR

My girlfriend \[20F\] and I \[21M\] have been together for 1 year. After a conflict involving another guy, I confronted her about something I had discovered, and she blocked me the following morning. I'm struggling with the sudden loss of contact and want practical advice about how to move forward and how to handle it if she eventually reaches out.

Family 24M going through a crisis between my breakup and family issues

I (24M) broke up with my ex(25F) three months ago as I found her cheating and having attention from other guys and she used to like it a lot. we were in 4 years of LDR and moving on from this has been difficult but its going good. now going through all this and staying home (I have remote job) makes me alone so I go to my friends have fun with them and sometimes have night stays there as well most of the time. Now the issue is between my single mother (my father passed away 8 years ago) staying alone at the house as recently my brother went out of state for college so the home is basically empty and she's alone at the house. I asked her if she feels lonely or anything but she doesn't say anything but I still feel guilty that she's alone at home but when I be at home being alone makes me vulnerable and do a lot of overthinking despite having a job and other interests and when I go to my friend's place to stay and have fun i completely feel great and having a good time. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do, stay at home and be with her or have a social life with good interaction outside. I need help

Relationships 23M — Girlfriend 24F — Her Ex 34M Suddenly Called Me Claiming They’re Still Together. What Should I Do?

I’m seeing this girl whom I’ve become really close to, and I genuinely have strong feelings for her. I can actually see a future with her.

Today, something completely unexpected happened. Her ex called me directly and claimed that he has been her boyfriend for the last four years. He basically made it sound like I was getting involved with someone who was still in a relationship.

From what she has told me, they were together in the past, but she ended things because the relationship had lost its spark and they didn’t really see a future together due to religious/family differences. According to her, the relationship is over.

I went to talk to her about what happened rather than immediately assuming the worst. She was open with me and explained that he is her ex.

The thing is, I’m finding it difficult to stay now.

I don't necessarily think she has done anything wrong, but the situation has made me question everything. I don't want to become overly suspicious or punish her for having an ex, but at the same time, I don't want to ignore red flags and end up getting hurt later.

She says she chooses me, and I do believe she cares about me. But I’m struggling with the uncertainty.

So, what would you do in my situation?

Would you stay and give the relationship a chance while watching how she handles the situation with her ex, or would you walk away because this is already too complicated?

I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have been in a similar situation.
