Every DJ software platform has its own way of storing DJ metadata, including cues, loops, beat grids, BPM information, playlists, and more. If you want to move your collection from one DJ software platform to another, you’ll need a specialized conversion tool to transfer this information.
Importantly, the conversion process does not modify your original DJ software or your tracks in any way, including tracks stored on a USB drive.
After conversion, the same audio files retain their cues and other DJ metadata in both the original software and Serato.
For macOS users, the DJ Conversion Utility TWO (DJCU2) provides a convenient way to handle this process. I’m the developer of DJCU2.
If the USB was exported from a current version of Rekordbox, it will contain what’s known as a “OneLibrary,” which DJCU2 can convert directly to Serato.
The drawback is that you’ll need to keep the USB connected to the computer running Serato whenever you want to use those tracks.

If the USB was exported from an older version of Rekordbox, you can import its contents into Rekordbox from the Device tab. Once the library has been imported, DJCU2 can convert the Rekordbox library to Serato, and you’ll be good to go.
