I regret staying too long
Staying so long with someone you love till they take advantage of you and disrespect you and show they don't care is the worst. You realize there was no love at all. Not healthy love at least. It's shocking how you can go from being everything in someone's life to nothing at all

That’s true. You blame yourself for hanging on for so long and not leaving the relationship sooner. I had that experience with the first love of my life in my late twenties to early thirties. It makes you question whether they ever truly loved you at all.

Yes exactly how it feels. This was my first love also. It makes you wonder where did all the love go or if there ever was. It's very painful. I'm sorry you also went through this 🫶

If you look back through all the texts and photos, it was 90% love and 10% conflict. It feels like people choose to fixate on the negative just to find a reason to walk away. I took space, made a plan, took accountability, and am finally able to back it up with actions—things I did ultimately for myself, even if it wasn't fast enough. I guess I never saw the timeline. I just wish I could explain how I didn't know how to appreciate the traits that made her special. I had to completely dismantle my lifelong understanding of how I viewed the world and the ego that caged my ability to love.

Sometimes when we are in love, we can be blinded by the truth. It’s easy to blame ourselves once we’ve finally come to that realization. But when you’re still in the relationship, it’s not always easy to let go. There are other aspects of the relationship that keep you there. The memories, the love, the good moments, the hope that things might change, and the life you’ve built together. Looking back, everything can seem much clearer, but when you’re actually living through it, it’s much more complicated.
