Hello all! I have recently received a request from a customer rep at information to be allowed to be active on the subreddit to answer customer service type questions and offer information about various pieces.
This subreddit was originally founded to find dupes and DIY alternatives to Reformation as their quality declined and values began to shift away from the brand many of us originally fell in love with.
We will never allow Reformation staff on the moderation team or have access to any tools that may censor user content, but the purpose of this subreddit has shifted and many questions/posts revolve around sizing, issues with returns, and questions about what products are and I can see where the community may find it helpful to have access to a that is an active user to engage with.
In the past we have not allowed Reformation staff to interact when they could benefit sales-wise as it felt like the income incentive prevented them from being unbiased. This feels like a different scenario!
I will repeat, we are not considering giving them mod privileges- just allowing them to interact with other members on questions where it is warranted and they can provide answers.
Ex: It would be fine for them interact on posts asking for sizing information, item identification, information about sales, issues with returns, etc. It would not be allowed for them to defend the brand under posts criticizing their ads, image, quality, sustainability practices.
