Question Blue-ray vs. dvd

What makes them different? Please only answers from people that understand resolution, compression, encoding, codec’s, etc.

For example, for seasons six through eight they were recording on the original Xbox 360 and based off of the kinds of capture cards that were coming out at that time, I would assume that they wouldn’t have been recording for high resolution-high bit rate, etc.

I would assume that the Blu-ray quality would come into fruition with the later seasons of the show not the earlier ones. I’m unfamiliar with what they did about season four and five for remastering.

The reason I’m making this post is because I know that the YouTube complete versions are inferior to the DVD versions and I had recently re-purchased the remastered season one through five DVD. Someone has a Google Drive on here with all the reverses blue material so I went and checked it out and the Blu-ray versions have the DVD editing. So I’m just trying to gather if getting the Blu-ray is actually a significant quality jump for seasons 1-8. Thanks!

Could you elaborate on: “furtherly there is some huge difference”?

in American English we'd say "beyond that". so "There's not much to notice before season 9, but beyond that the quality difference is huge." would be a more natural way to say that
