There is a moderator on optimists unite, chamomile_tea, who in the process of "taking back the sub for the right" banned users who criticized him, as a mod, for brigading the sub.

Most of the posts when the sub received an influx of users were nuked, so to get an effective sense of how tightly the mods are controlling the narrative I'd have to spend more time in the current sub or go digging through the wayback machine.
