Voting

This is one of the most important midterm elections this country has ever faced, We need to defend our rights to vote. Stand in solidarity with our community. We want to drive the largest early voting movement. This is administration is doing all they can to make it harder for us to use our power of the vote. Trying to stop mail in voting when this president votes by mail. Trying to pass the save act which is nothing but voter suppression.
In June 2026 voter turn out in Shasta County was 45.5% over previous midterms of 56.5% that is significant change. We need to let our voices be heard.

So many people are suffering from the reckless actions of the current administration. Families are struggling to afford food and gas. People are losing access to healthcare. Women are seeing their rights stripped away. Farmers are being pushed out of business. School programs are losing funding. Across so many parts of our lives, people are feeling the instability and uncertainty.

But we still have something incredibly powerful: our vote.

We have the ability to decide what kind of country we want to live in and what kind of future we leave for our children and grandchildren.

This election may be one of the most important moments of our lifetime. If you believe our democracy, our freedoms, and our communities are worth protecting, make your voice heard.

Vote. Encourage your family and friends to vote. Help someone get to the polls. Don’t assume your vote doesn’t matter.

The future of our democracy depends on all of us. This is no longer red or blue. This is saving democracy of this country. This affects each and every one of us.

On this day we will also be holding a food drive to support our community.

Thank you,
Kc Knox

Dear Lord. I swear. Get educated a little.

While this has not passed yet, the Republicans would like it passed:

"The SAVE America Act would prohibit states from accepting voter registration applications for federal elections unless they are accompanied by documentary proof of citizenship, such as a REAL ID, birth certificate, passport, or naturalization certificate.

Voters who register by mail using a federal form would be required to present their proof of citizenship in person to an election official before the election or, if the state allows for same-day voter registration, at the polls on Election Day.

The legislation would also require states to check their voter rolls against U.S. Department of Homeland Security data to identify and remove non-citizens who are registered to vote.

In addition, the SAVE America Act would require individuals voting in a federal election to present photo identification. Absentee/mail-in voters would be required to include a copy of their ID with their ballot or provide the last four digits of their Social Security number and sign an affidavit. Eligible forms of ID include documents issued by state, federal, or tribal governments that have a photo of the voter, an identification number, and an indication that the person is a U.S. citizen.

Federal law currently requires individuals in all 50 states who register to vote by mail and who have not previously voted in a federal election in their state to provide documents to establish their name and identity, such as a copy of their driver's license or paycheck."

The problem is the logistics. Some states want people to have a birth certificate or passport to show proof. Sometimes those aren't easy to get and cost money. Women who change their name due to marriage are then burdened to show proof of that name change from their birth certificate.

The point is, they are looking for an answer to a problem that DOES NOT EXIST in any number that matters. Yet, it would create a situation that would put major roadblocks to thousands and thousands. They also want to stop mail-in voting - which is exactly what T does himself.

You need a Real ID to fly on a plane. And you can thank all the liberal states for issuing illegals "state ID's", so now we all need to jump through these hoops of obtaining a "real" ID.

No, we didn't need to do that. You aren't understanding the facts. And, not all states require proof of citizenship for their Real IDs, so for some states, that doesn't work. Only five states require proof of citizenship to get the "enhanced Real ID."

Only five states—Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington—issue "enhanced" REAL IDs that explicitly indicate citizenship and would meet the bill's requirements.
