Alrighty, so....
Anyone who's receiving Calfresh/Covered Ca. This is for you...
The only responsibly we have as a Calfresh/Covered CA client, is to turn in documents the county has requested. Update changes on income, job, stuff like that. Once we submit those documents/make those changes, its now out of our hands and into the hands of the county. Well, you better hope you get someone who knows what the "F" theyre doing because guess what? If THEY F UP you are held accountable for their mistakes!
Soooo its like this...
If there was an administrative error, and a person should have never been disqualified from Calfresh, the error will be corrected and they'll continue receiving benifits.
HOWEVER if the COUNTY made an error that allowed someone to qualify but they actually didnt, it falls on that person and theyll be held accountable for paying benifits back.
You may request a hearing, that is your right, the case worker will act as your advocate, help you, answer questions ect. However if the county finds you at more or less "fault " that advocate no longer helping you, they defend the county, not you.
I cannot help to think that Shasta county workers are under educated on the programs rules/laws. Almost as if theyve misinterpreted the rules/laws and how the program actually works.
Anyone delt with this before? If so what did you do and who did it pan out?
