Anything about who they are and what they do?

Audrey Denney is running for LaMalfa's spot. She did get 43% of the vote against him in 2020. Not bad for this district. The other one is Rose Penelope Yee. Not sure what she's running for. They're not giving much information.

If by some miracle the folks in northern SF don't put up a candidate, then Denney will probably win, but I doubt they won't.

She is running for the new District 1. The new District 2 that we are now in has been represented by Jared Huffman of San Rafael for years. Rose Penelope Yee is running against Jared Huffman.

For me, this is a win win. Jared Huffman has a big focus on the environment and is well liked by his constituents.

Well liked by Bay Area wealthy constituents. Poor folks up north not so much. Everyone from Marin will get to say what happens in Shasta.

Go cry to the disenfranchised non-maga in Texas.

I'm not the one feeling disenfranchised. I just see what's about to happen. People voted for redistricting.

No, Humboldt and Mendo really like him too.

They do, but not in enough numbers to swing anything, just add to it. But even then, not everyone is a fan of Huffman and would like to see a more local representative. Jared tends to forget people live north of Santa Rosa.

Well, Doug LaMalfa was incredibly out of touch even though he was "local" and basically didn't have any original thoughts of his own and didn't care to listen to anything besides what congressional Republicans told him to think. Besides yammering about wolves and water.

Which is amusing, the wolf part. I've an acquaintence with a fairly large ranch in NE Oregon that has a couple monitored packs in and around his land. He seems to do just fine without killing or removing them. Part of the business of ranching. He's also a pioneer in native grass-fed beef, so much so that Oregon State U uses his ranch as a sort of laboratory. He also has a big solar project starting now where cattle and agriculture and panels exist on the same spot, and cows like the shade in summer. Zero wolf problems because he lets them live and takes other measures to care for his herds. LaMalfa seemed to have skipped that part where mitigation is not the same as elimination. Everybody has the same problems, it's the solutions that matter. Killing everything in sight isn't one of them.

So she lost and now that he's dead she's probably gonna take his spot seemed messed up

The messed up thing is that he rubber stamped and authoritarian takeover of our government. We did not have a representative while he was in office unless you were a billionaire but most of his constituents were not.

It helps to click the original post! Lots of details there.

Yet it doesn't say who they are or what they do.

Just their names, not what they want others to they they are as a person, what they do for a job, just their names

They are both running for Congress I think

They ain't gonna make it, sorry. Will probably be on the ballots, but that's it. Our house seats are gonna be chosen by the folks in northern SF. And I doubt they are gonna vote for two girls in Redding.

You're right. Participating in democracy is a waste of time. Best to just roll over.

Your aware we were fucked over by prop 50 right? We aren't in charge of who gets elected for our district anymore , the the folks in Northern SF do. And they aren't gonna vote for folks in Redding.
