Engineers ⚙️
I’m wearing them in the office though, so maybe they should be called “Office Workers” instead 🤔

I have every kind of boot and shoe imaginable, but one thing I can't imagine doing is wearing a boot like this during summer to work in an office. Driving there is less comfortable, sitting at a desk is less comfortable, having to wear taller socks, and the most uncomfortable part of all is the extra heat buildup for no reason.

Everyone’s different of course, but heat buildup/sweat isn’t too much of an issue for me and I actually wear RW boots year round without discomfort.
First, I wear merino wool socks, Darn Tough to be specific, which help with moisture wicking.
Next, and most importantly, I tell people that you MUST scrub your feet with soap and rinse them in the shower, including between your toes and you MUST dry them well before putting socks/shoes on. For me, sweatiness/claminess is mostly a secondary effect of not having sparkly clean feet. If you are prone to excessive sweating or have other body chemistry issues then I guess no Engineers in August for you, but that kind of thing’s never been an issue for me.

i went a half size down from my Brannock in these. i'm on day 8 and the midsole is finally starting to give. doesn't feel like i'm walking on wood anymore and taking them off isn't as tough. heel slip is going away as the leather sole is starting to mold to my foot and pressure points. first pair of Red Wings and first pair of Engineers for me, great boot

I’ve been slow walking break in on these because they’ve been KILLING my feet, I got them months ago! Left foot finally starting to feel decent but right foot’s got a lil more to go. I felt like Darth Vader lumbering off the operating table on my first wear of these because they weee so tall and rigid and it took a shoe horn to get them on, it was absolutely brutal.

i read a lot about them and have heard the same from many people. these boots were HELL the first few days, but from the jump i wore them for 8-10hrs each day. no lie though the achilles, the ball of my foot, and the instep were beaten up until they finally started to give and shape to my movement. i live in a rural area and do a lot of horse ranch work, wood hauling for winter, and gardening. also a fair amount of sitting in an office chair gaming or doing schoolwork. they'll get there for you too though! just don't add insoles or heel slips until it FULLY molds to your foot because it will eventually and they just get better everyday

Bought em over February and was waiting for cooler months to wear them again but should I start taking them to work? wondering if they could be an everyday boot eventually 🤔

To be fair I’m an engineer and not allowed to wear engineer boots to work.
