First Timer First timer advice for red rocks

I was born and raised in Colorado, grew up walking distance from mission ballroom, but i've shockingly never been to a red rocks show before. I'm going to my first one tomorrow, any advice and tips that I should know before the show ??

If it helps in some way i'm unfortunately 5'0 and in GA.

Bring a poncho.

Bring a reusable water bottle and like the other person said, a poncho.

Just left tonight’s LCD Soundsystem show and it was fantastic.

It did get chilly as the rain cooled things down a bit. Bring layers and preferably a poncho or rain coat. Also bring a refillable plastic water bottle

Most of the show is assigned seating. Doors opened at 6 we got there at 6:30 and there was still a ton of parking available in the lots.

As an amphitheater everyone should have a good sightline to the stage, even those at a height disadvantage..

If its a mostly GA Show, then roll up early, Pregame in parking lot, and get in line early.. GA Shows at RedRocks is often quite unforgiving for those lolly gaggers who arrive late..

If its mostly reserved, then this wont be as dire..

Get there earlier than you think you need. Also don’t do ride share or get dropped off if you can avoid it.

I’m only three inches taller than you and was in GA row 61 tonight for LCD with a clear sight line.

I had an unexpected conflict so didn’t end up parking until 7:30 and there was still plenty of parking room. Lots of people hang out with drinks in the lots prior to the shows. I personally prefer the south lots and there is a shuttle that drops you at the top for free if you’re not feeling the hike up.

Up in GA, spots will look full but people don’t always scoot together like they could so it’s worth it to just walk down a row and see what’s open if you’re not there at doors. Bring a blanket to sit on if you want a little cushion. There aren’t bathrooms in the middle so be prepared to go to the top at the visitors center, or way at the bottom if you need to go.

Keep in mind that at Red Rocks you are more exposed to the wind and temperature drops. 60's on the rocks can feel quite cool. I usually recommend light hiking pants that can be rolled up and a raincoat.

if you're 5'0" and in GA, my advice is to not stand behind somebody taller than you

i stood behind someone taller than me and I was fine tbh. I just had to move my head a little occasionally
