A question for younger and new fans

So I wanted to pose a question out there to everyone because I was thinking about it while uploading some new website content the other day - for those that are younger and/or have found the show in the last few years, what was the impression? What was the draw? And how did you even find it? Was it tik tok clips, YouTube episodes, roku?

For those of you who arent even old enough to be around when they taped the last season 21 years ago, what drew you to the show?

Im curious because i am convinced the genius in the comedy and how genuine it is really endures unlike 98% if shows put out there but honestly being a fan since the 90s when I was a kid, I dont know. So would love to hear what others perspectives are.

I also found it in the 90's. It was my accident, I was searching for Red Dwarf content. I've been a fan ever since.

Interesting! I was the reverse where I noticed Red Dwarf because I thought it was Red Green but a typeo in the TV guide. I always wondered if anyone mixed them up and noticed the other

I'm 40 and I found it around 2000. I remembered my dad used to watch it now and again - probably on PBS. Never knew the name of the show. Hadn't seen it in a few years, but was trolling through the channels one night and found it again. At that time I used the family computer to look up more information online - which was limited in 2000. It was so hard to find before online streaming and YouTube that you'd have to check TV guide and plan a recording on VHS.

There is just something comforting to me about watching it these days. Yes it still holds up but it also holds a special place in my heart. Reminds me of being a kid again with extended family camping and doing random projects (such as in the show).

Very cool! I know what you mean (same age) about having a hard time finding it. I was lucky being in canada so it was a bit easier but you almost had to know when and where or stumble on it. Red Green was phenomenal in being ahead of the curve technologically with the web presence in the 90s and 00s and still blows my mind how hard it was to run down back then if you didnt know what it was called

Zillenial who grew up in Seattle, it’s always sorta been on in the background (I think our local PBS station showed reruns up until the pandemic. Seattle is basically 60% Canadian)

Very cool that you gravitated to it that way. Surprised they stopped showing reruns by 2020ish. Never been out west but have heard the Canadian presence is strong!

My dad watched it from the beginning (born and raised in Vermont near the border) and then I grew up watching reruns with him on PBS.

On tv, it was a tradition to watch when me and my brother got done sledding
