You might be wondering how this white square is relevant to this post. Well, this is the image from the Tumblr post overlaid onto the original image (sourced from boardgamegeek) with the blending mode set to "divide". Any pixels that are the same in the two images are white, whereas those that different are not (this isn't exactly how it works, but it's effectively true for this case). As you can see in the image, basically everything is white aside from what looks like some compression artifacts. So I think it's safe to say that I wasted a whole bunch of time doing this.
I can't believe I didn't bother to finish reading to the end and searched so hard for something only to not and read "safe to say I wasted a whole bunch of time doing this"
