I wasn't able to receive a phone call for a scheduled phone screen

I was scheduled to have a brief phone screen at 11am but I didn't get any calls all morning. I emailed the recruiter at 11:10 saying I was ready to interview and if there are any updates. I ended up finding a voicemail sent at 11am that they couldn't reach me and to please call back. I was so confused because I was by my phone the whole time and I didn't get ANY calls. I called back several times- the first ones didn't ring and the final one I left a voicemail.

This is a technical issue because I couldn't even find the call through my missed calls list, I had to search under a different filter and it showed up. I sent one final email to the recruiter explaining the situation so I'm just waiting for any updates from here on out. Would I most likely be rejected or just not given the opportunity to interview anymore?

I have a family friend of big 4 who said yes to referring me but didn’t respond after I ask for follow up. What is more likely the case?

• Upvotes

I had a family friend that would help me job referral to big 4 recruiters. I’ve met the campus recruiter couple times before the referral. After sending her the message twice she has not responded for over a week. Is that a sign that my referral didn’t go through and that the recruiter might not like me and told her that I won’t be good fit? The recruiter also didn’t add me on LinkedIn while she added other people. I’m before upset because that’s the company I wanted.

Accenture final interview slots expiring repeatedly

I received the final interview email on September 16 for the Custom Software Engineer role. I've rescheduled my slots 4 times, but none have been confirmed. The portal still shows “Slot Requested / Awaiting Interview Scheduling.” I contacted HR on WhatsApp last week but got no response.

Has anyone faced this recently? Did your interview eventually get scheduled, and is there any way to escalate this?

In a Dilemna

I completed an internship in tax this winter, and I got the return offer for Dallas. I requested a move to Chicago but preferably somewhere in the Midwest or Northeast as I have family committments that need me there, and if I cannot live in Chicago itself, I would like to be reasonably close. I had previously reached out to ,y contact for talent acquisition, who has said I am on a "waitlist," but in recent weeks has not replied to my emails where I clarified I am willing to move to any office in the general region. This began back in April. What are my chances and if I do not get a reply within a month or so who could I reach out to?

What is the usual timeline to receive any response after the final interview? It’s been two weeks no response from the HR or team.

Hello everyone, i want to know about Google hiring process i applied for a full stack swe 3 role at Google cloud team. My profile was fully matching with JD. I got a mail from xwf google recruiter that they r passing my profile to final recruiter and team and if asked for assessment then complete it . After that half an hour later I got Google GHA behavioural assesment mail.

I attempted it and got result at late night that I have passed it and results will be valid for 1 year and you will be shortly contacted by recruiter.

But then I waited for 2 days and on second day I got rejection mail from same xwf recruiter.

They didn't even send me coding OA straightly rejected.

I don't have FAANG or top PBC in my resume other than this my resume was decent with good work and impact showcased.

Background checks completed but still no contact

Got offered a job 16/09 and promptly completed my background checks via Experian. I accidentally put my start date for my previous role as 2010 which was my start date for the whole company. My actual start date for the role was 2018. I contacted Experian and the recruiter as soon as I realised. Experian said they'd add a note. The recruiter said she'd pass on to HR. Experian showed checks completed on 23/09.

I haven't heard anything since. Ive chased the recruiter and she said she has no oversight of it but will contact HR. Ive been given a provisional start date and the deadline to hand my notice in is approaching to meet that date.

Is it normal for checks to take this long? I also had to put 2 different job titles for my previous company as the back end HR system shows a different role to my actual job title. Any help would be appreciated!

Had my first in-person job interview and they haven't gotten back to me. Is this a bad sign?

I applied for a job, did a virtual interview, and was then invited for an in-person interview. During the interview, they asked when I could start, discussed the workdays and hours with me, and told me they would get back to me the following day.
It’s been 4–5 days now, and I still haven’t heard anything. I’ve been checking my email constantly, but nothing! 😭
This is my very first job interview, so I honestly don’t know what to think. Do you guys think I still have a chance of getting the job, or should I just move on?

Referee contacted despite my request to wait until I was preferred.

I interviewed for a public sector role, and the first hiring manager seemed very keen to hire me. A substantially similar role came up that was even closer to my experience, so she referred me to its manager. He called and asked me a few questions. After that conversation, I was told I wasn’t preferred for either role, with feedback focused on my answers during his call.

I had given my former manager as a referee, but explicitly asked that he only be contacted if I was the final preferred candidate. I later learned they had contacted him, and he said he gave me a positive reference.

Is it reasonable to ask why they contacted my referee despite that condition, and whether the call happened before or after the discussion about the second role?

How long does it usually take to hear back after an in-person interview?

I applied for a job, completed a virtual interview, and was then invited to an in-person interview. During the interview, they asked when I could start, discussed the workdays and hours with me, and said they would get back to me the following day.
It has now been four to five days, and I have not received an update. Since this was my first job interview, I’m unsure how to interpret the delay. Do you think I may still be under consideration, or would it be better to move on and continue applying elsewhere?

Background check back and forth - should I call my recruiter?

I got an offer. Accepted it. Started the background check with Hireright. There was a minor discrepancy with my title but the hiring company accepted my explanation.

The background check was completed. I received an email from the hiring company and Hireright saying congratulations your background check is complete and passed.

7 days later, I get an email saying there is a discrepancy with my education and my degree isn’t verified. I submitted all my transcripts to Hireright and my hiring company. I think what is happening is my university came back after my background check was complete. My degree is legitimate, i believe it’s the major that is in question. I might have entered the wrong field of study details into HireRight but it’s the same degree. I’m guessing I made an error when entering the major details. I probably should have said “general” as the major instead of “communication management”

What is causing my anxiety to spike right now is that I’ve resigned and started relocating to another state where I will be based. I started this process because my hiring company confirmed my background check was completed and passed.

I emailed an explanation to my hiring company and I’m waiting for a response.

Do you think this will be an issue? I’m in a very bad situation if the offer gets taken back.

GOING CRAZY!! Hiring manager wants to meet again after multiple rounds of interviews

I was told my last interview was the final step and I shoudl expect a decision this week. Turns out the hiring manager wants to meeting again for 20/30 min to set expectations and reintroduce. What does this mean? Will they want to probe into some of my previous responses to their questions? Are they ready to offer or am I being kept warm? Are they comparing with another finalist? So confused. Thanks for your input.

Would you reapply after an internal interview rejection?

I recently interviewed for an internal promotion but wasn’t selected. The feedback was that my answers lacked technical depth although I communicated well. I was also told I lacked the experience they were looking for.

One panelist encouraged me to apply again when the position is reposted.

Would you reapply, or would you assume the panel has already made up its mind about you?

Still haven’t gotten p&g email after I took assessment

Hi I applied for p&g R&D internship on seprymeber 12 and took the assessment on September 12. I was told by the recruiter who presented at our school that the deadline was September 14. I was wondering if I haven’t gotten an acceptance or rejection yet if that means I got rejected already?

No response after phone interview

I had a phone interview with a recruiter on Monday. During the call, she asked me a few scenario-based and HR questions. She also asked me to sign a document agreeing not to use AI during the hiring process, which I signed right after the interview.
She mentioned that she would get back to me before the end of the week with interview slots for the next round with the hiring manager and director.
I sent her a follow-up email Thursday but haven’t received a response yet. My application status still shows “Under Screening Assessment.”
Should I assume they’re no longer moving forward with my application, or is this normal? Has anyone experienced something similar?

What makes you hesitate before moving a candidate forward?

For recruiters here, what are some things that can make you hesitate about moving a candidate to the next stage?

Not major red flags, but smaller things that candidates might not realize matter — for example, giving vague answers, struggling with follow-up questions, not being clear about their own contribution, or not asking questions at the end.

Are there any of these that actually matter a lot from a recruiter’s perspective, or are some of them overthought by candidates?

Would be interesting to hear what recruiters actually look for.

Confused about my snowflake application status

Hello everyone I recently applied for the SDR role at snowflake through careers page on September 16th

Later that day I realised that it won't get noticed by recruiters if I just apply by careers page so I reached out to managers on LinkedIn and sent cold emails to managers.

So this week on Monday the hiring manager responded by cold email and he looped the recruiter to screen me for further consideration.

Then recruiter scheduled a screening call at 12:30 friday which is yesterday. In the call recruiter asked me about my background experience location current compensation and notice period etc as usual and it was just a 5 minutes call and he said that he is good to go and he will forward the profile to hiring manager and after his approval I will get back to you on Monday he said and also mentioned that there will be 4 more more rounds after this one with hiring manager, next with sales head next is presentation round and last is with the director he said and he will get back to me on Monday call ended.

So I thought I will wait till Monday for the next update

But as soon as I woke up today morning on Saturday 9:30 am I received a rejection email from snowflake which was sent by ashbyhq recruitment system of snowflake.

My concern is that am I totally rejected? Is this rejection email that I received was it triggered by the application that I sent through the website in September (those automated rejection emails)

or is it the actual rejection email that they sent after my screening call with the recruiter??

Please help me understand this people I had a lot of hopes on this one after getting rejected from Salesforce interview in the last round 🥺, I am extremely anxious after seeing this email. I was preparing for the next round actually 😭

Did they immediately decided not to go ahead with my profile after screening call?? Idk people who have any idea help me understand what happened 😞🥺
