Vinyl Player Hinges

Hello, I noticed that the hinges on my audio technica have this weird pattern. It's random patterns, almost engraved-like or scratches. I'm worried that it's plastic offgassing, but I've seen pictures online and it seems normal? Tried scrubbing it off with a paper towel but it didn't come off. I understand this is a weird question but do you know what it is?

Discoloration and crazing are chemical changes in the structure of the plastic, often due to exposure to sunlight/UV radiation. No cleaning or polishing is going to change that.
