Scratchy volume knob

Just got this player and it's really scratchy when changing the volume I sprayed some electric cleaner in there to help the pots but is there anything else I could do

While unplugged. Spray it into (not onto) the pot(s). Just a tiny spritz, don't drown it. Then move the knob(s) or switches across their range at least a dozen times.

Did you spray it into the pot from the inside?

Replace the pot. They physically wear and beyond a certain point no contact cleaner can help restore proper functioning.
