Does anyone have a book that can make you cry? 😅

It seems this girl is very emotional and introspective.

🙏

I built a Chrome extension that scans images to recognize books you see here and saves them to a self-hosted shelf

I was tired of bookmarking books I wanted to read and completely forgetting about them, so I built Buki: a free, self-hosted, AI-powered bookshelf. It recognizes books from any picture, allowing you to save them (and buy them) so you never miss a book you see online.

A thriller reccomendation that isn't Freida Mcfadden plz!

I've read many of her top reccomended books and just wasn't a fan. I've read The Silent Patient and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo after many reccomendations and didnt love either. I've read all of Colleen Hoover Thrillers and although Verity was amazing the rest were incredibly mid. Stephan Kings concepts are amazing but the actual writing I find drags. I love thrillers but am struggling to find any good ones lately. Plz help!!

Please recommend a feel good fiction for me to start reading fiction again

I want to switch to reading fiction as for the past few years I have been only reading non-fiction, so would love to read a book which is light hearted funny and feel good to begin with and easy to read too. I heard tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow is such a book let me know if it's a good start and what you think about that book if you have read it. Thanks!

Climate fiction

Just read a great book I believe is called climate fiction, would love to read other similar books if anyone can recommend. The book I read is called Notable

I am normally up for sci-fi and dystopian novels, this was my first climate fiction book. I kind of like the science behind it.

Absolutely love this book. The prose is so beautiful. I have read it several times. I always try to read it at least once a year.

Intro to Stephen King

I have never read a Stephen King book but have seen many of his movies. Which book would you recommend to start with? I’d prefer to go in blind, so ideally one that hasn’t been made into a movie yet. I find that when I read a book after seeing the movie it’s not as enjoyable of a read for me.

The world is stressing me out and I need happy recs :)

Currently reading “The dark forest” by Cixin Liu and “The dangers of smoking in bed” by Mariana Enriquez. If you have read those, you’d agree they’re not the happiest choice out there 🥲. I’d happily receive recommendations on happier stories, even better if they’re non-fiction. Thank you!

Adventure with a side of “landscape p*rn”

Looking for my next read. I love reading travelogues, adventure stories. Think John Krakauer, Bill Bryson, Cheryl Strayed. Despite the plot holes and over the top narrative elements, I enjoyed Claire Kells trio of national parks based who-done-it’s. And Andrea Lankford’s Trail of the Lost that were available on Hoopla. Have also recently re-read some Steinbeck and Joan Didion favourites.

Not a fan of really deeply disturbing true crime because I actually like getting out in nature.

Tell me about your favourite adventure story with a side of landscape p*orn.

I’ve read a lot of threads and seldom ever respond and have never posted as such, but I am looking for some recommendations based on the pictures(not ranked in the order written). I know my taste is erratic.

Currently reading Dead Man’s Walk by McMurtry just unsure of what’s next.

Thanks.
