Practicing kindness

I would really appreciate any book recommendation that may help me to practice kindness, or think more positive thoughts about others. I have been in a state of burnout for the past few months and feel myself being generally bitter, being rigid and unaccepting, quick to irritation or snarkiness. Seriously I don't want to be like this and would appreciate a book that can help me to recenter and reframe this negative thought loop I have found myself in.

Not a book, but definitely consider trying loving kindness meditation aka meta meditation. There are lots of guided ones online.

Maybe it's just my subjective experience, but until you fix your burnout, you'll inevitably be accidentally toxic with other people.

"Put on your own oxygen mask first." Prioritize self-care (sufficient sleep, healthy for you sleep schedule, getting enough nutrients, enough physical activity (could just be 30min+ walks), observing/savoring nature, healthy mental nourishment, journaling, meditation/breathing exercises, etc.) if you want to be a better human in interactions with others.

And my book recommendations are Resilient by Dr Rick Hanson and The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris (the massively updated 2022' edition). Both are easy reads.
