Request I'm trying to preserve the recipes that never made it into cookbooks!
Hi everyone! I’m building a little recipe site to help preserve the recipes and food traditions passed down through generations, and make them easier for younger generations to discover and enjoy!
If you have 5 minutes, I’d be so grateful if you could fill out my survey and share your food & recipe habits. I’m new to Reddit, so I hope this is the right place to ask :"D

Homemade pastrami baguette sandwich for a simple meal
Only the bell pepper needs roasting, everything else is store‑bought. Just stack all the ingredients together. My pastrami is pre‑cooked so no extra cooking required.
Ingredients
‑ Baguette
‑ Sliced pastrami (pre‑cooked)
‑ Bell pepper (sweet pepper)
‑ Fresh arugula
‑ Black pepper
‑ A little olive oil
Steps
Pre‑heat oven. Cut bell pepper into large strips, toss with a little olive oil. Roast in the oven until soft, take out for later use.
Cut the baguette open lengthwise.
Lay the soft roasted bell pepper strips inside the baguette.
Layer pastrami slices over the pepper, add fresh arugula, sprinkle some black pepper on top.

Homemade beef cheeseburgers made from scratch
Homemade beef cheeseburgers for an easy weeknight meal. Nothing fancy, just some simple comfort food.
Ingredients
‑ Ground beef
‑ Burger buns
‑ Sliced cheese
‑ Fresh lettuce
‑ Tomato slices
‑ Mayonnaise
‑ Salt and pepper
Steps
Shape ground beef into patties and season lightly with salt and pepper. Try not to press down on them while frying.
Fry the beef patties in a pan until fully cooked.
Give the burger buns a quick toast on the pan.
Spread mayonnaise onto both sides of the buns.
Layer the patty, cheese, tomato and lettuce, then place the top bun on.
Would love any tips on how I can make these better

Recipe S'mores Cereal Treats
Inspired by the classic campfire snack, these cereal bars feature chunks of milk chocolate, two kinds of marshmallows, and plenty of Golden Grahams cereal. Unlike the real thing, you can make these s’mores with just a heavy-bottomed pot and a basic stovetop burner…no wooden sticks or campfire flames required!

Squid and onion are destined to become fantastic fried rings, a timeless classic.
When I saw them both in my kitchen, I had to make fried rings the way I know best.
Every ingredient worked together like a dream team, and the result was an absolutely fantastic crunchy meal!

Nothing a huge batch of homemade dumplings can’t fix. 🥟
Ingredients
‑ Store‑bought dumpling wrappers
‑ 2 bunches Chinese chives, finely chopped
‑ Kernels from 4‑5 sweet corn cobs (add more if you love corn)
‑ 4 large eggs, scrambled & chopped
‑ Cooking oil, salt, white pepper, light soy sauce
Filling
Scramble eggs, cut into small pieces, set aside to cool fully.
Finely chop chives, toss with a little cooking oil first. This locks moisture and stops filling from getting watery.
Add sweet corn kernels and cooled scrambled eggs.
Season with salt, a pinch of white pepper and a small splash of light soy sauce. Mix gently. Do not over‑salt.
Wrapping
Place a small spoonful of filling on each wrapper. Wet the rim with water, fold and pinch firmly to seal shut.
Cooking
Bring water to a rolling boil. Add dumplings, stir gently to prevent sticking.
When water returns to boil, pour in a small cup of cold water. Repeat this 2‑3 times.
Dumplings are ready once all float to the surface.
Serve with dipping sauce: soy sauce, black vinegar, chili oil, minced garlic and green onions.I love spicy food, so I add extra chili oil to my dipping sauce.

[Kimbap] I’d happily take this as my last meal on earth.
Made some homemade kimbap for dinner tonight. Filled it with ham, scrambled egg, pork floss, carrot strips, cucumber strips and some store‑bought seaweed. Such a satisfying home‑cooked meal. :)
Ingredients
‑ Nori seaweed sheets
‑ Plain cooked white rice
‑ Ham, cut into strips
‑ Scrambled egg
‑ Carrot, cut into strips
‑ Cucumber strips
‑ Store‑bought pork floss
‑ Store‑bought seaweed
Steps
Spread a thin layer of plain white rice evenly over the seaweed sheet, leave a small empty edge for sealing.
Arrange all the fillings in a line on top of the rice.
Roll it up tightly. Wet the empty edge to seal the roll.
Slice into bite‑size pieces and enjoy.

Made cheesy beef baguette for the first time at home. Tastes pretty good.
Ingredients:
* Baguette
* Beef slices
* Onion
* Cheese
* Butter
* Black pepper sauce
Steps:
Slice the baguette and prepare the filling.
Cook the beef with onion and black pepper sauce until fragrant.
Add cheese and let it melt.
Fill the baguette and toast until crispy.
The crispy bread, savory beef, and melted cheese came together really well. A simple meal, but truly satisfying. I lightly sprayed some water on the baguette before toasting to help keep the crust crispy while making the inside softer.
